Sad

1. This forum is almost dead. Makes me think of June 2013.
2. I just saw two major dumps down to 467 and now I see near-zero buying pressure to come back up.
3. http://blockchain.info/charts/n-transactions-excluding-popular is still dropping.
4. LTC is taking a beating because people are exiting the whole crypto scene. BTC is what they change their alts to, before heading for the fiat door.

We aren't there yet. This shitstorm might be over soon but also might go 2011 all the way.

Totally agree. "Well it always rallied before to a new ATH, so it will again and we will see 1000% gains every year". Its obvious to anyone who does the maths that it can't keep having those gains every year forever

Bitcoin has a lower market cap than Western Union. I don't get why people fail to see the potential there. 1000% gain seem very likely.

You're not getting it are you....  2(a)   is impossible.  Because 2(a) the price starts from an uptrend.

The price can go up.  But it's not any kind of flag / pendent.

There is not trading pattern for what you are suggesting.

Look at 2(a)  and look at he start of the line.  Where the price came from .

The only thing that distinguishes 2(a)  form 2(b)   is where the price came from.   Other wise how could a trader use it to predict the price?   because the 2 flags are the same.  (apart from the the start)

IE you must ether the triangle from below not from above.

Do you understand now?

Your patronizing tone isn't helping you.

It did.  The staff is just short.

Short makes a profit.

you can see.
There no have any logic.
Huobi has a volume of daily transactions three times more than bitstamp and should have a greater wall than bitstamp.

China exchanges are more market order fans than limit order, wall is likely real

just compare volume !

$650 on stamp by Friday would be enough for me...we gotta go hard and fast (4 day EMA and 1 day MACD cross may trip off some bots for us Smiley)

I know, you need $650  to catch the good shorting position.

It looks real bad.

indicators follow the price, so that technical analysis is less important than fundamental analysis.

Igorr, like Fonzie, likes to hold onto every little bit of bad or ambigious news and spread it around as if the apacalypse is nigh, no matter how old this news  is. Preferably he'll link it a few times more in  multiple topics, so that the guys that aren't paying attention think this 'news' will be bad for them.

Sorry, we teachers develop a bad habit of simplifying 40 years of experience with a tool into childish examples.

What would your incredibly precise model say about this real-world (in more than one sense!) example:

What difference do you see between Apr/1997 and Jan/2000 in this example?

Around ten years from now only 450 or so coins will be mined per day.  There's only ever going to be 21 million regardless of how quickly any of us manage to get our hands on them.   Cool

21 milion will be mined for 120 year, regardless of mining speed (network hashrate),
but bitcoin will dies for next 5-6 months.

This is a pedantic observation, but since you're an obvious substanceless troll, it's worth pointing out that it does depend on hashrate, because retargeting is never perfect to exactly 10 minutes over a difficulty period, so in the face of increasing network hashrate, the rate at which new coins are mined does depend on how fast the hashrate is growing.

"How long will it take to generate all the coins?
The last block that will generate coins will be block #6,929,999 which should be generated at or near the year 2140. The total number of coins in circulation will then remain static at 20,999,999.9769 BTC.

Even if the allowed precision is expanded from the current 8 decimals, the total BTC in circulation will always be slightly below 21 million (assuming everything else stays the same). For example, with 16 decimals of precision, the end total would be 20,999,999.999999999496 BTC."

135000 new bitcoin every month x  current exchange rate $ 450 = $ 60750000 every month
someone needs to pay it with real money. But who ?

There are 4,000 new accounts every day only at My Wallet

https://blockchain.info/charts/my-wallet-n-users?timespan=30days&showDataPoints=false&daysAverageString=1&show_header=true&scale=0&address=

4,000 * 30 = 120,000 new adopters monthly ... not enough bitcoins for everyone.

After MtGox  we lose 4,000  adopters monthly  Huh
After five months of decline prices we lose 4,000  adopters monthly Huh
China ban bitcoin every 20-30 days and every time the price is halved  Huh

that's right. And it's not gonna stay long at the 400 level

The price $ 450 will be halved, and after this comnig recovery price to $ 370, and again, again, again to zero.

I can see BTC going down up to about 350 USD/BTC by the end of this month  Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed

Proof:

Is this correct? I do not know to make predictions, but this one seems to be right

What do you think?

If that is proof it would mean the price will never go up again.
It's quite likely we will go up again so that chart is pretty useless. It can be today or 6 months from now. Saying 350 is the turning point is the same as guessing any random number under 450.

Just MtGox can raise up the bitcoin price

Here is one: they are traders (possibly unexperienced) who bought at much higher price, say 4000¥.  They have been waiting patiently for the price to go up again to those levels.  But now that the the future of Chinese exchanges is uncertain they got desperate and are clumsily trying to push the price up with those fake bid walls.  [ ... ]
Why would they not be able to send them to their wallet and sell some other time when price is better then?
If the Chinese exchanges are going to close, where would they sell them?  For most Chinese, the non-Chinese exchanges must be as viable as the Chinese ones are for Westerners.

Logic,
Chinese people will sell all on Bitstamp.

Logic,  Chinese people will sell all on Bitstamp.
Arbitragers and some other clients will do that.  But most Chinese clients would need to open a bank account in the West in order to withdraw dollars from Bitstamp, and then will have to convert those dollars to CNY so that they can spend them at home.  Since the price at Bitstamp is unlikely to go much higher than now in the near future, many will rather sell now at Huobi.

What about Btc-e?

They can sell them for CNH. Of course is not the same than CNY, but they can keep trading with their currency.

The problem is the next,

In Chinese banks, incoming funds from BTC-e, Bitstamp or any exchange will be baned.

But can they withdraw the CNH from BTC-e to their mainland bank account?

The secondary problem is,
form China will comes a lot new bitcoins to Bitstamp and BTC-e and it will crash the price.
Just check Huobi volumes !

-----------------------------------

How many people in this thread using bitcoin moving money abroad?  if one uses, indeed he will find bitcoin fantastic. One thing I tend to be sure is that the payment technology behind bitcoin will be successful.

Still, the success of payment technology does not necessarily mean success of bitcoin, I think.

It is quite a headache for me to imagine: if Switzerland decides to stop Swiss Francs and turn them all into a crypto swisscoin, what will happen to bitcoin?
