How big do you think SR was compared to, lets say, Satoshi Dice in BTC volume?

SR is what made bitcoins what they are today. Period

You do know that there is a fund opening this week on August 1st?  http://www.globaladvisors.co.uk/

I highly doubt we are going south.

Eh I don't think I would buy on that "news", but I can promise you that Dell/Overstock ect are selling the majority of the coins they earn.

I think the sellers will exceed the buyers for a little bit is all. No biggie for BTC long term.

2 of 4.

Oh well.  It really isn't that big of a "crash."

I still don't get why people do not see the significance of a hedge fund opening this Friday.  That might change everything quickly.

I would be panic buying based on that news alone.  Granted, I am "all in" so I have nothing more cash to throw in at this point.

I ask again as I asked the other time, is this fund exchange-traded?

Off the top of my head, I remember at least 3-4 non-ETF funds dedicated solely to Bitcoin. Why would this one be so special?

Second Market has been a boost already.  This one reaches an entirely different market of buyers and perhaps even at a different scale.

Nothing worth buying on I don't believe.

Doubtful.

Exactly... Why would BAC pick some very unlikely BTC price point, and then to say that s/he it thinks that such price is going to happen?

Very unlikely given recent event and recent price movement and recent volume.. ..

Even the fact that BTC prices bounced off of $275 with such volume should cause a large number of rational observers to believe that this market has reversed and is very unlikely to return to such price points, absent some pretty bad news....

Accordingly, we have NOT been hearing any real bad news in regard to bitcoin.... much of the news is either good or neutral and with a few negative pieces here and there ... yet any negative news, to the extent it comes up, is largely outweighed by good and neutral news.

In other words, seems like stupid-ass trolling statements to be realistically attempting to assert that we are returning to anywhere below $360 without some kind of meaningful analysis and explanation... .. otherwise making bare assertions of such seems either trollish or fantasy landia-sh.

*shrugs* k man.

I'd say the past week has been pretty bad news, holidays are coming up, lots of BTC exchanged well bellow $100 and I don't think people will be gifting BTC hot n heavy for Christmas yet.

Yes people may sell some coins for holiday purchases, but that will probably only have a small impact. I've heard of a few people who will actually be using their holiday cash that they receive to finally buy some coins (think 16-25yo population).

Be interesting! Might give a good reason to pump after the holidays.

Whatever the cause, this 3-day rally and crash generated trades totaling over 1 million BTC at OKCoin, several million BTC overall.  The exchanges must have collected several million dollars in fees and interest, and arbitragers (possibly the exchanges themselves) must have made many millions too.

Is that with or without counting all trades twice?

Liquidity has become terrible on OKcoin futures since about a week ago. Formerly there were always around at least 1-200BTC within a 3$ range. Now you have to place your orders 8$ above or below current future spot price to catch the good ones . Sell@ 419 buy @ 407$ within 10 minutes even if the rest of the market only moves 4-5$.  Cheesy Margin calls all over the place. House rules ... you give them your fiat money or your coinz you play by their rules. And all exchanges are like loaded casinos, house always wins.

Unbelievable with an asset like bitcoin, the first digital asset of its kind to allow circumvention of having to deal with crappy house rules people think they are going to beat the house by trading.

Take the coins of the table and leave the house is the only way you can win this game and bitcoin allows you to do this for the first time.

Why are there people so damn desperate to keep the price below 400? What are they afraid of? What do they want?

Most people purchase Bitcoins in the speculative hope they can later profit by selling them at a higher price to other market participants. As it's mathematically impossible for this to continue ad infinitum it's foolish to think you can continue to make money at the expense of other market participants (of which you yourselves are among) beyond the peak of adoption.

Once adoption rates have peaked, which they more than likely did last year, there's little left but a massive downside caused by an imbalance of those wishing to cash out vs new money coming in from those wishing to speculate on further price rises.  As the imbalance becomes more apparent new adopters are likely to become fewer and fewer thus escalating the downside.

As more people start to realize risk/reward is a bad bet and that the coins are gradually becoming worth less vs USD, a cash grab situation is likely to arise in which people will become aware coins are actually only backed by buy orders amounting to about 0.01% of the arbitrary market capitalization. This situation could be immensely profitable for those buying into the next round of folly.

All those who have become rich from Bitcoin have simply done so at the expense of later market participants, many of whom are likely to realize large losses on the flip side at some point. Hence why it's reasonably comparable to a giant ponzi scheme.

Bitch pleaseeeeeee go ask 10 people in the street wtf a Bitcoin is and they will give you a blank look or comment on SR.

Buy buy buy!

Rally this mofo back to $410 and futures $420.

Volume has dropped a lot lately. A month ago the 4h MACD was a relatively reliable indicator, but the pump-and-dump
we experienced may have sped up the market and maybe 2h MACD could be more useful short term, and it suggests going up tomorrow.

I wouldn't bet against it

Karpeles playing with his Willy and China were probably the reasons this thing reached the $260 and $1200 levels in the first place.

Willy is a thing of the past now, and regarding China, looks like they bailed long ago  Undecided

PS: not posting bitswamp because irrelevant after the post-hack exodus (and before the hack the picture is the same, demand totally drying up and progressively going to shit), and finex is just shorters taking profit with the maker-taker bullshit.

No doubt we've had a lengthy bear market but with regards to China, I wonder how much lately is due to a diversion of funds into their stock market ( has been on a run last 6 months or so). Such a run up they're now trying to slow it down, putting the brakes on margins. Interesting.

http://www.investopedia.com/terms/b/beartrap.asp

Load the boat when these homos try to drop it.

You can see their order trying to fill and chance are they will tap the Bid to get to their bulk price. Keep your orders low and on top then the suckers may tap you pretty hard.

Accumulate

Example:

Person A wants his 200 BTC order to fill @ $235, so what you do is place 5btc orders right on top of it at $235.25 to make a little space, so Person A feels he is getting a great deal if it goes down.  Person A then attempts to fill your order by selling into it.  The trick is you have a way more than 5BTC put back and each bit that sells into it you add a bit more to it Cheesy  Pretty soon Person A panics because he just sold off his Market Maker stash + the price increases = Panic Buyers

Sneaky sneak

We are still way low value wise, so it'd be hard to make a bad panic buy at this point.

Ok, you got me at "free" sorry for all that other crap.

How do I collect these "free" tokens and where can I exchange them for bitcoin?

No detailed description necessary, just a link to instructions is fine.

www.Just-dice.com

Then read the FAQ.

Just-dice used to have over 60,000 BTC invested, but with all the heat coming down on Bitcoin Dooglus shut it down and gave everyone their shit back.

After like... half a year of being shut down (don't quote me on that.)  He reopened with CLAM because it had a very low market cap, everyone who owned BTC, LTC or DOGE already owns clams and a handful of other reason.

Just be sure you empty the address before you dig your 4.6 CLAMS off them and then never use that address again (treat it as compromised.)

Each empty address is worth like... 0.025 BTC.

I'm looking to buy as well, so please feel free to inbox me.

People purchased based upon the expectation of the great news from coinbase.

The fact that a FDIC insured and regulated exchange in the US with over 1million usable accounts to start has opened with 0 trading fees instead of 1% like before is a big deal. The fact that we will be able to use coinbase to set limit orders and trade at 0-0.25% instead of 1% is a big deal. The fact that no other exchange offers FDIC for usd balances is a big deal.

Agree with the fee part.

Never gave a shit about the gay Coinbase rocket page or their gay news.

I'll probably fuck off with their exchange a little bit though... it's for sure not bad news Tongue

Turns out their new office in SF (which is in a beautiful location right across the street from the E*Trade place) is only a fucking shipping company "Earth Class Mail" that lets digital companies host their business name there.

The front doors where locked, but I saw some short haired dude about to go in the back.  I knocked and he came to the door.  I asked him if there was a company called Coinbase in the building on a upper floor.  That is when he told me no and that they host digital businesses at that location, so I thanked him and went on my way.  No reason to rick roll anyone else unnecessarily.

I'm to tired to type it out in full with references.

Probably best you build your own opinion on what just happened.

In a nut shell Coinbase Rick Rolled everyone with news that was a flat out lie and generated tons of "buzz" (as Charlie Lee called it) that generated Coinbase huge profits at the expense of fooled customers/bitcoiners alike. 1% and actually buying Bitcoins after the market crashed via customers and huge $50+ dollar swings for the rest of the world. (NYSE tweeted last week they planned on helping Coinbase make the Bitcoin prices more transparent... and Coinbase took that shit to the bank.)

Will point this out to the proper people when the time comes.

When you say rickrolled are you referring to the "lunar launch"?   tbh I took that with a pinch of salt, they played on the moon meme, and the lunar name, it was cute but it never meant anything... Surely no one thought that meant anything other than the opening of the exchange? (which I do wonder if they rushed because of Gemini)

They had this hidden in the source code of the lunar launch.

I think he is hoping that with enough yelling he can create some sort of buzz and somehow sue CoinBase for his bad investment then hopefully get a settlement.

Completely ignoring the whole "buy on rumor, sell on news" aspect of trading. It is usually the case to sell on the news because it is not as exciting as the rumors make it out to be (in this case, though CoinBase is licensed and regulated as the rumors presented, it is only regulated in 23 states).

They can shove a settlement up their own ass unless that bitch is beautiful.

I really am just trying to understand what your point of view is? Is it that off the back of them saying they are the first us regulated exchange , you thought this was bullish for the price? Is it because you feel the lunar launch animation suggested the price was going to the moon? HoHow did they make you buy bitcoins you otherwise would not have? And how did you lose 200k? Did you buy at the top of the price spike, and then sell low? Or what?

First off don't worry about my money or point of view because I don't mean shit.  Just focus on the bigger picture of Bitcoin.

They rick rolled Bitcoin as a whole by lying to the media about news that was a flat out lie.  The state of California even stepped in Tuesday.  No telling how many sales they generated through creating this buzz and then not even buying customers BTC until after the market takes a huge plunge.

It just smells to high hell.

http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/33ik6v/google_trends_bitcoin_in_greece_vs_bitcoin_in_the/

Greeks are googling "bitcoin" at an increasing rate relative to the rest of the world.  Capital controls are coming.  People in Greece are looking for a solution.
That being the case, it's starting to be reminiscent of the spring of 2013 during the whole Cyprus fiasco. Getting more Greek folks in could be a trigger that gets the ball rolling upwards.

heh, so true, i was thinking exactly the same thing, it is replay of 2013 ... albeit at bigger scale Greece >> Cyprus and $230 >> $30

so mini-wave up to $2-3k area when greece goes this spring and then big wave up to $10-12k for christmas?

There was a price spike that happened around the same time as Cyprus, but it wasn't because Cypriots were buying Bitcoin; at least I've never seen any actual evidence of it. IMO there was no Cyprus Effect.

it was about 5 months after the first halving, but the Cyprus effect was real, at least that's what the perception was at the time and as you well know, with the Griffin good money, it is all about the price perception and price feedback loop.

Maybe not many Cypriots actually bought bitcoin but the fact they had ALL their bank accounts frozen overnight by the ECB sent a strong message to bitcoin-curious all across the world and in particular Europe, that yup, bitcoin is better than that ...

perception is everything

Cyprus was the thing that got me thinking "Holy fuck that shit happens."

I remember reading a Bitcointalk post of some dude with screen shots of his balance.  Lips sealed

I wouldn't buy GBTC at 1750 per coin, but I could do 380 and 420 like some have. By the time I would cash out some of my 401k and get taxed and penalized I would end up spending more than that per BTC, so to be able to roll a bunch of my 401k into bitcoin is well worth the added cost of each share. I am planning on buying GBTC shares with 10% of my incoming 401k contributions once the ask side is built up. For every $1 I put into my 401k my company contributes $2, so I am very excited about this.

Wouldn't you be far better off making a loan to yourself from your 401k avoiding the tax/penalties and then buying Bitcoin with that for 1/2 price?

Or is that too much work and your 401k doesn't mean that much to you at this point in your life because the majority of it comes from your company & you don't need it yet?

This is the first time in my +2 years of fucking around with Bitcoin that I would not recommend it to a friend... something feels fishy.

Definitely a little fuckery in the ether.

The catch is that you must give the bitcoins to Grayscale, they will give you fresh BIT shares, and you must keep them for 1 year before you can sell them on the OTCQX market.  Good luck...

Well... that is far better than them keeping the cash from the Bitcoin sale for a year Tongue!

Take 2000 BTC and trade it to 3500(ish) BTC still makes 2015 a beautiful year.  Then that person can throw the 3,500 back in the BIT incubator.

It's going to continue going down.

I think Cryptsy or even Poloniex has more volume than GBTC and the Stockholm. Giving away free bitcoin mining toasters is hardly impressive as well.

It's been just big disappointment after big disappointment.

I also think that the Chinese can control the mining industry and actually take losses there that are made up through market manipulation.

Bitcoin would be far better off PoS. Right now it's a huge bottomless hole of electricity cost and one nuclear miner or subsidized miner would knock everyone's socks off. Also, you have money going into BTC and then money flowing into machines the equivalent of a 1970's type writer (worthless now.) It would be much better if it was "all in one". It may encourage people to solo stake (pool staking seems sketchyish.)  Bitcoin has far to many people invested/scamming with mining for it to change at this point I fear...

PoS would provide better growth for the network.

276. Post 11466839 (copy this link) (by BayAreaCoins) (scraped on 2020-04-04_Sat_14.16h):

PoS everyone could get involved with securing the network cheap and effectively.

PoW only the select few who have the special equipment, space and electricity can play ball... doesn't really seem good for Bitcoin to me.

If we want to see Bitcoin move into the mainstream let's make the mining easy for everyone... PoW isn't going to cut it I don't believe and is a HUGE waste all the way around the board.

I'm sure it's more technical than this... or I hope anyways.

How's your lawsuit against coinbase going?

Good!

It needs some criminal charges in order to keep my expenses low, but Coinbase business plan is half selling Bitcoins however possible and half snitching/doxxing.

I'm a little concerned they snitch on enough people to avoid catching criminal charges themselves.

How do you think PoS wouldn't be better for the network?  Do you think the average third world person deserves a chance to help secure the network?

People fucking HATE that if you hold one $100 BTC in 1 year it will still be 1 BTC and who knows how much USD value.

People would still continue to stake their coins and secure the network even when the reward isn't huge.  I've seen enough in the altcoin world to know when the mining is no longer hot... the mining drops like a rock.  Bitcoin is going to meet the same end.

Gavincoin is going to help make Bitcoin harder for the average joe to get in and then in the long run it will bone the miners too.

Folks are just banking on Bitcoin getting so corrupt in world politics and economics that everyone just swallows the losses and uses it... Not going to happen unless Benjamin Lawsky works some fucking corrupt magic lol.  Which of course he is trying, but thank god you can hire him soon to help navigate these murky waters that he helped stir up!

Proof of stake serves only to enrich the stakers.

You fail it

Disagree.

Proof of stake enriches the people who are actually taking the risk of holding the coin.

Proof of work enriches the electric companies and hardware people.  It completely fucks all the average Joes six ways from Sunday.  PoW toxic and leaks $ like a sieve.

If you want to build Bitcoin to were you can have something to leave for your grandchildren I'm almost 100% sure at this point PoW isn't that thing.

It'd be good news if they were going to put it off and allow Bitcoin businesses to thrive in NY.

Quarterly futures trading about $30 over spot price.  I expect that to tighten up to $15 over spot after a $10 spot fall.

How would quarterly futures affect the price so much though?

The people who are trading spot trade futures well.

You'd probably earn more Bitcoin than the sell off costs by shorting and buying back when you forced liquidation.

Before the ATH is tested there is fair resistance at $2560 - $2600 to break through first. Once the ATH is taken out the Fibonacci extensions give some price targets:

If we add an earlier longer time frame chart of the Fibonacci extensions you can see how the 2.618 extension predicted the current ATH fairly accurately.

Taking both charts into consideration it would seem that if the current ATH is taken out a reasonable price target is between $4200 and $4400.

Pretty wild to look at.

My concern is not that bcash will overtake bitcoin. It's that these attacks on bitcoin will undermine confidence in all cryptocurrency.

Bitcoin Core Coin is absolutely shitting on the confidence of cryptocurrency as a whole... if anything Bitcoin Cash is trying to save us.

The average cost per transaction for BCore Coin at the moment is over $40!!!

If you want to buy a candy bar with BCore Coin... you are going to pay 40x the cost due to fees.

If you want to buy a hit of acid with BCore Coin... you are going to pay 4x the cost due to fees.

If you want to buy a 8th of weed with BCore Coin... you are going to pay 2x the cost due to fees.

I seriously doubt that BCore Coin would have been what it is today without the Silk Road and I doubt the Silk Road would have been anything with such absurd transfer fees.

Even if you aren't buying drugs... why would anyone use BCore to send payments when there are SO many cheaper options?  In fact, I can't think of a single option that costs more than BCore to send $500.

For those who say "Bitcoin isn't meant to buy candy with!"... why would Satoshi waste his time talking about Bitcoin and vending machines in that case?  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=532.msg6269#msg6269

Right now, Bitcoin Core is the most expensive way to transfer money of any amount the more I think about it.

I can send a $10,000,000 USD money wire for $25 from my bank.

I can buy two $500 Vanilla visa cards for $4.95 each ($9.90 total.)

I can send $500 for free using Facebook.

ACH for a 25 cents (been a while since I checked ACH fees).

FFS, It's fucking cheaper to Western Union right now for god sakes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why... would ANYONE use BCore Coin?  I can understand why people would buy BCore Coin (because you can get rich quick), but I can't understand why someone would use it with these absurd fees.

Obviously I'm sympathetic about the fees situation. But the fee market is working. I remember back when we were throwing bones we had to switch to alts. I wasn't happy about it, but you use the right tool for the job.

I would argue that the fee market is not working.

The way I see it if I had BAC Coin and BAC coin could handle 100 transactions per block.  If I'm the one mining the blocks and collecting the reward... what the fuck do I care what I spend if it causes everyone else to compete with me?

If I send 0 transactions... everyone else has to spend at least $0.01

If I send 100 transactions for $1 a pop... everyone else has to spend at least $1.01. *cha ching*

I'm going to get the transaction fees anyways, so of fucking course, I'm going to spam BAC Coin for year and years to come because it is GROSSLY profitable.

It doesn't seem like rocket science.

There is no such thing as bcore, even though I know that you are trying to derogatorily refer to bitcoin in a way that is equivalent to the way that the world refers to Bcash.

Why don't you divest yourself from bitcoin, if that is what you are wanting to do, or perhaps just own a small part of bitcoin, and then put the rest of your efforts into bcash, if you think that bcash is some kind of superior coin that you want to shill in this bitcoin thread.

So go off to your own lillie forums rather than complaining and exaggerating nonsense about bitcoin including attempting to try to suggest that bitcoin is broken or will not overcome some of the current attacks upon it in the coming years and with increasing developing and network effects that are likely to be inevitably beneficial to bitcoin.. and sure a lot of the alts are going to profit from this too... because if bitcoin succeeds, then likely a lot of alts, ICOs, and bitcoin attack forks are also going to have some platform and some ability to profit as well from such a lucrative growth oriented environment.

so, go go go.. bugger off, BayAreaCoins.  Roll Eyes

I'm here to stay... thanks though.

There absolutely is such thing as BCore and I couldn't give two shits about BCash... we are actively liquidating BCash for BCore using FreeBitcoins.com, but this is getting more and more difficult as BCore fees get worse and worse by the day.

What am I exaggerating? Because the numbers I'm posting are real numbers that anyone can check...

The shit you are throwing out there is 60% horse shit, 30% pipe dreams and 10% garbage.  Basically, all I've heard you say is "We are getting spammed... there is nothing we can do about it.  I know Bitcoin is worthless right now, but maybe we find a niche for our $40 fees."

Get the fuck out of here with your "bitcoin was meant to be" language.  Either you like it or you don't.  Either you invest in it or you don't.

If you like some other coin, then go the fuck and invest in those coins... Bye bye... adios.

There are a lot of things that bitcoin is, and there are a lot of things that are in development.  Accordingly, we know that bitcoin is not currently in any kind of locked state.  So anyone can decide whether to buy bitcoin or to sell it, and it seems to me that we have a decent chance of returning to ATHs before the end of this calendar year or soon thereafter, so in spite of your various proclamations regarding what bitcoin should be or should have been, the market is likely going to continue to vote in favor of its current value and future value and the price will likely continue to rise because of these ongoing and persistent buying pressures.

Shut the fuck up with your telling me to do this or that.  You're a fucking nobody... remember that.

If you think "Bitcoin was meant to be" $40 per transaction... you should really kill yourself.  You've been here long enough to know better than that.  Roll Eyes

Why don't you grow the fuck up and figure out ways that you can work around any issue that you might have than trying to act as if the whole fucking sky is falling.  Get a fucking grip on reality... yeah we all fucking know that fees are high right now, so if we are trying to be practical, then we are not sending a lot of small transaction on the bitcoin blockchain if we can avoid it. and we are attempting to figure out ways that we are not personally bearing those extra costs.

Some of us are actually involved with Bitcoin outside of posting long pointless posts on one thread.

Sounds like you are just ready for a central Bitcoin bank that centralizes Bitcoin and have them save the day!!! Great plan... that should work well.

My grip on reality is spot on when it comes to these fees.  I deal with this reality multiple times a day when I'm liquidating folks Bitcoin Cash and sending them Bitcoin Core for FreeBitcoins.com... the reality is that BCore has some serious fucking problems right now.

Quote from: JayJuanGee on December 23, 2017, 09:45:27 AM
Furthermore, yesterday, I sold about $6k bitcoin to someone who wanted to buy some bitcoin from me.  Actually he wanted to buy $13k, and I told him that I was only going to sell him $5k, but if he wanted to get $6k, I would agree to $6k rather than $5k if he paid me $50 extra for the transaction fee.  He said o.k..... no problem.  He wanted the extra $1k and he did not mind paying the high fee.

I've also implimented a $200 trading fee for people who wish to purchase Pappy Van Winkle from me using BCore Coin.

Quote from: JayJuanGee on December 23, 2017, 09:45:27 AM
A day or so earlier the fee was around $20, and a couple days earlier the fee was around $12.  So I am fucking well aware of the increases in the fees, which is frustrating for me, too, but you don't see me whining about it in the same nutjob way as you, because I am figuring out work arounds, and I also understand that there is a bit of a war going on right now and there are malicious players who are attacking the bitcoin network.  I am not sure if either the attacks are going to go away or if there are ways that such spam attacks can be fixed, but I am willing to accept that the new state of bitcoin could possibly be a state in which spam attacks continue to be ongoing which causes higher fees and also causes slower transaction times and also takes away some of the lower cost use cases of bitcoin because the bcash nutjobs and who ever else is engaging in such ongoing and persistent spam attacks continue to believe it is in their interests to continue to attack bitcoin.  So in the end, this spam attack dynamic becomes the new reality of bitcoin, at least for the time being and it could persist for a long time, so we have to figure out ways to deal with it and to prepare ourself for such new situation
Dude you're nutty as a fucking fruitloop... you sit here posting day in and day out personally attacking people who have legit issues.  Legit issues that you yourself acknowlege!  Roll Eyes

Quote from: JayJuanGee on December 23, 2017, 09:45:27 AM
if we don't like it, then we sell our bitcoins, no?  If we think that there are better solutions, then we buy into them, right?  Oh no, instead you want to whine about it, rather than figuring out some work arounds, right?

I'm talking about a problem and working on a way to fix it, but it's tough to fix a problem that the developers in control of are making and/or going to make so much money off.

Hell... your idea of a fix is to centralize Bitcoin and handle the transactions offchain right?  Good thinking fucktard.

I am bullish in Bitcoin fees. Now I just need to find where to trade some futures for it.

Price goes down but fees goes up. This is the future of money!

Actually fees are going down atm.

Even if they do go down... the trust and faith are gone from a lot of users with the way things are set up right now.

Something needs to change in my opinion.

If Bitcoin can't be used economically in a vending machine... there is a problem.

I began noticing some serious infrastructure changes in the Bitcoin.it wiki in October and it has been an evolving thing since then.  I absolutely think MidnightMagic and other major players in Bitcoin are actively working to destroy our investments.

The "we are big enough that we don't need *you*" mindset is absolutely going to destroy Bitcoin Core.

So, why are they not using Litecoin, which is a well-established coin, and instead they suggest using Bcash, which is a fork in its infancy and governed by lunatics (read their "Letter from the CEO" as proof of lunacy)? I sense something fishy going on there...

Cause Litecoin fucking sucks.

No one wants to use Litecoin... sorry I know that is heartbreaking for all of y'all shitcoiners.

People want to use Bitcoin because of the historical value behind it and the number of real transactions on it.

Why use a shitcoin with a totally different blockchain when you can use Bitcoin Cash that has the same historical blockchain as what Satoshi and Ross used?

i would never enter my private keys on a website though.

You should NEVER enter a private key that still contains Bitcoin anywhere... be it our service, a different third party service, individuals, decentralized wallet or anything else in between.

Our service doesn't require private keys in order to check to see if your address qualifies for any of the forks we check.

We do have to have the private key if you want us to liquidate your coins for you... you are however welcome to download whatever wallet you need to sweep your own coins.

Our service saves people a ton of time, adds a layer a privacy (there has been some serious speculation that these forks of Bitcoin are an attempt to triangulate large Bitcoiners) and prevents the need of downloading yet another shitcoin wallet.

As I've stated... we've paid out well over $125,000 in Bitcoin Cash liquidations alone this month alone and I'm sure we've assisted in helping people find at least a million dollars this month.

Why would anyone come back to Bitcoin...?  So we can wake up tomorrow to $50 fees because one group of miners can manipulate the fee market that much.  I'm sure the trash alt markets (which are most) will be flushed, but the "real" alt markets are still strong and will continue to grow stronger during this shit show.

Bitcoin needs to scale to at least make it more costly and more risky for those who want to spam pool for profit.

I'm getting all types of calls "Why is Bitcoin going down?"... I just remind them that $50 fees are NOT the future and this is the markets slow reaction to the shit we dealt with in December 2017.

The Coinbase chart is %99.9 identical to the bitstamp chart. I don't see a problem. Maybe I am blind. Changing back and forth, it is the exact same chart.

So long as you take a constant reference not whatever chart suits a pov on the day its probably fair to use most major exchanges.   Bitfinex is the one I see referred to as being the biggest exchange and so some say most accurate because it has the most volume.   But we lack the benefit of centralised trading like the pricing on most instruments, its the nature of BTC that its split over many nations and time zones so I'm never sure exactly where the volume is most favouring.   It would be alot easier if we could point to certain volume at a price.   I dont really take the price seriously until its finishes the daily bar but as a trade that kinda sucks

I don't understand why so many members want to fight our long-referenced bitstamp... pretty much bitstamp became our king referenced exchange a bit prior to the GOX collapsed (in February 2014).  Sure, there was a period of time in which Bitfinex was gaining support as a potential contender, but that possibility got sucked up the ass both in terms of its utilization of margin trading, but it's August 2016 "hack" provided a final death knell to it, in terms of perceived reliability.

Even though Coinbase and even Gemini do tend to have similar price performances as Bitstamp, freuquently Coinbase loses credibility in the space because of the weird behaviors of Brian Armstrong, and nobody has really developed much of a liking to the Winkelvi twins, here or in broader bitcoin circles.

Anyhow, so my point is to get over it peeps.  Just use Bitstamp as a reference, and we are all on the same page and not confused about things, and it is not like Bitstamp is not a respected exchange in terms of serving as a real decent bellweather, even though it has consistently had smaller trade volume than some of the other exchanges - but it has not really had as many accusations of faking volume, either.

Of course, if there is something special going on on some other exchange or you want to make some kind of point about disparities in BTC prices, arbitrage opportunities or some other point that is possibly relevant to exchange price differences (or happenings), then that is a separate deal that you should easily be able to accomplish through either pointing it out or through description.

Yes!  Everyone must use some exchange that very few actually get cash off.  Great idea/demand from the Altcurrency Bro!

PS:  Coinbase or Gemini is a better point of reference for most of us because we actually withdraw off them.  Bitstamp is a British exchange that is just now adding British Pounds?? https://www.coindesk.com/crypto-exchange-bitstamp-is-adding-uk-pound-to-funding-options  Very few people actually use Bitstamp to withdraw fiat.  Which is probably why Jay likes it as a price reference.

#nohomo fatty?
If you don't mind @vroom gear-up speed 8km per hours . What meaning of 'homo'?

Man, you need to catch up lot.

Homo = Gay

Homo short for Homosexual means "sexually attracted to people of one's own sex."

#nohomo usage in WO might have a history which I don't know. Maybe someone else can help.

Nohomo means you said some gay shit, but you don't actually puff the pecker.

Bitcoin still headed to $5,000.  Possibly by Halloween IMO.  With MASSIVE losses coming to the altcoin and shitcoinstable coin world.

The new movie by Maritn Scorsese "The Irishman" is out as well now speaking of the good ole days.  (Gangster film in regards to Hoffa, the Teamster Union drama)

On topic:  Bitcoin still headed to $5k IMO.  We shall see though.  It may have bottomed out in the $6's and I speculated wrong.

I'd imagine Bitcoin prices are going to dip with people shopping and needing fiat for the Holidays.

Bitcoin seems like something you spend, not something you give.  For most folks anyways.

I think we made it through the rough patch.

I thought we would hit $5000, but we didn't in 2019... I expect a good strong 2020 for Bitcoin.  ATH's?

Welcomed everyone with rosé Dom Perignon 2005....

Omg... please tell me that isn't Dom P in those glasses with those 3 small ice cubes in each.... (it doesn't appear to be)

You want to use no ice or BIG ice on anything that's over $100 a bottle.

I personally use round ice balls... they are always a bigger hit than the juice inside the glass because people are monkeys.

These are what I use and strongly suggest https://pappyco.com/products/sphere-ice-molds-set.

I also STRONGLY suggest DomP's 1996 rose.

Bitcoin headed to $5,000! (staying on topic)

Missed it!

I'm praying the VC's are giving up on the dream of Bitcoin being money they way they see it (SEC filings and things of that nature).   Sell off their massive stakes for-profit and let the little turds start buying again.

Bitcoin felt "right" at $100... it's felt very wrong since $1,500 + to me.

Just trying to raise awareness.

This shit is serious. I didn't care about it much tbh till yesterday. Now the more I read about it makes me even more sicker than selling the bottom.

No you are not.

You are just having a really bad day.
Your judgement is off by orders of magnitude.

Oh, and grow a set, will ya?

I'll go away if that's going to make you feel better.

But before... I'll leave this here.

Coronavirus deaths in Italy rise to 1,266 - up 250 in a day

what we just witnessed never happened before in the history of crypto If I am not wrong.

lolwut?

I was talking about recession, pandemic, global market crash combined. Did it happen before? Did I miss it? Don't think so.

Good night, I am off.

Does this look like someone fighting a virus?

I'm printing paper wallets on toilet paper now.

It's the virus times version of Casascius coins

But that only works if you have toilet paper on hand. If you're fresh out and you call around and find the nearest tissue paper is at a store hundreds or thousands of miles away, you can simply drive to a closer ATM and get several sheets to wipe. Here in the US, that may be 20 bucks per wipe, but you do what you got to do.

Guys look at the master races who dont use toilet paper at all but a so called bidet Wink

How do you get your arse dry afterwards? Do they have an arse dryer like a hot air hand dryer?

The fan dry takes forever... it's best to just use a bit of toilet paper or a washcloth.  Dripping dry feels really gross and isn't really an option lol... just letting yall know! Tongue

I have several Brondell bidets.  Good investments even when there is plenty of TP available.

Bidets are cute but take up serious space. How do you fit them in the bathroom?

It takes up the same exact room as a normal toilet seat.  Plus it is slam proof, heated, and has a light in the pot.

The sprayer(s) go in and out of the lid.  The remote controls the spray temp, pressure, movement, seat temp, fan temp/speed, carbon filter fan in the shitter and a "cleaning" button for the sprayers.

Fucking crazy boys... fucking crazy......

My fucking vending machine route got shut down today due to the government closing salons. Our state has zero deaths.  I'm considering just putting the machines outside, but I'm 99% they would get robbed.
