So today we broke above the linear line (which was a mathematically inevitability to occur by July), rising $3 above it for 20 minutes. We then failed to break any logarithmic trendlines or even come close to the ichimoku cloud. This breakout is just like the breakout in March but with half the volume, and the push on stamp was split into two little pushes on two days rather than one big push on one day. However, the chart on Huobi looks almost exactly the same as Huobi's chart in March (which had two pushes). Right now everything just seems exactly the same and I don't see any clear signs of reversal.

I am an absolute newby to this forum, this is my first post. On the other hand, I have been trading financial assets for quite some time.
I expected today's BTC dip, whatever the supposed reason for it would come out to be (i.e. fake news from China) on the basis of :
1. a simple analysis of trading volumes analyzed on various time frames
2. the application of Fibonacci retracement levels to the previous leg up
3. the application of Eliot's wave count to the previous leg up (impulse wave) and to the current leg down (correction wave)
Technical analysis is not science and its various tools are not always churning out foolproof answers. Some tools work better ( = more often and on more type of financial assets) than others, but even those can fail ( = give false signals). In my experience, Eliot and Fibonacci have the best predictive power because they are not based on averages of past datas but on eternal or, at least, recurrent human behavioural patterns.
This said, I put out my 5 cents of wisdom to say that the market will find its way to correct lower before it resumes its way up. I have set a number of buying orders at decreasing price levels between 4000 and 3000 USD so, to put my mouth where my money is, this is what I can recommend to others as well.

Sure you could be correct this time (a stopped clock is correct twice a day), but please present your technical analysis with a bit more grains of salt and accounting for both the immature price finding aspect of bitcoin and the s-curve analysis which are important factors to not leave out when you are arriving at your supposed "reasonable" technical analysis conclusions and advices.

It would almost certainly destabilize currencies and even countries if/when let loose.

even a 'fake' twitter post saying Trump wanted or was pursuing banning Bitcoin would have a huge effect on price..even with say
his ADT and it went no place. I'd guess BTC would go down by 15% on such shenanigans and if an outright ban, well at least in the short term

My theory about this is that when the mainstream coins like Libra hit the market, they will bring the Bitcoin dominance down because they will be pumped/inflated. Im sure next year we will see Google, Apple, Amazon, etc all jump in. Bitcoins dominance will have to compete with those coins to which would likely bring the dominance down.
P.S. this guy is going to become an absolute god if we hit $16,000 next month.....

I appreciate the sentiment, but to be honest, I'm just pulling gut-feelings out of my ass. Something hasn't felt right since the plunge down from $10k. We were stable for so long, and now have this shitfuckery to deal with. I suspect things are going to become wildly unpredictable the closer we get to the halvening. Option on a physically settled future on bitcoin are basically the same thing of an option on the bitcoin itself. I really can’t see any difference.
They are doing so to “recycle” a few items legally I think. But nothing real for the user.
Edit: I saw the message from Javi on the choice between physical or cash settlement of the options. I don’t know his source, but it looks very odd to me, but everything is possible.

Stability in the parameters of a model is a good things.
This is why I am bullish on the Stock to Flow model: his parameters have been very stable since 2009-2012 era, hence even before the first halvening.
Given the fact the price has done probably 100x since then, this is a very reassuring quality of the model.

50% income tax, give or take depending. 25% sales tax. Hidden taxes on everytyhing, not sure how much but not less than 50%. In total, 80-90% taxation.

From what I understand, most European countries have taxation based on country of residency. So, you should be able to get residency in 0% country, like Malaysia or Panama, stay there for a year, dump your bitcoins, then move back. All 100% legal and tax free.

It was designed to be a peer-to-peer version of electronic cash, not a "store of value" or something people buy and hope goes up in value so they can sell it at a higher price. The only thing we know for sure is that if bitcoin loses value, it won't be due to its own inflation.

All technical analysis is out the window in a "black swan" event like this. The bears were and still are wrong. They just got lucky there was a global event that helped them out.
Bitcoin crashed because the wall street types dumped it to cover margin calls on their other crap. They are dumping everything to prop up their leveraged garbage. Bitcoin held up pretty well given the payouts it had to make.
There is still ongoing daily demand for bitcoin and the daily supply is still getting cut in half very shortly. Everyone who dumped will still have to buy back in once they get their shit together. Don't give it back to them so easily!
