Ton of people sitting on piles of cash last year waiting for the drop I suppose. but it never came. Cheesy   Bitcoin is funny like that.

Strange now,  I took a 2 year break and just now starting to catch up and look at all my old accounts.  Always kept .1 btc on my phone just to see what prices were like every now and then.   It's been a big shock to look at my accounts now days and just the dust .1btc on my phone went from 40 dollars to 1500.   Crazy.. I'm a perma holder though.. using that old Reptilia strategy of selling 2% at every 10% rise if you need to.  I never needed to since I was working so much and didn't have time to really bother.   But he did give some great advice.

I know the feeling. This is my first bull market experience of watching what I once regarded as dust becoming worth hundreds of dollars.

Bought 2 Trezor's back when they first came out since I was using Armory at the time.  Was a pita to get BitcoinD to load then took forever for Armory to sync the database.   Put my daughters college fund on one and our personal savings on another.    Holy crap.. that girl could go anywhere she would want now; can't imagine in another 8 years when she can use it.

Yay, scribble charts.  Those are fun.  What I've learned over the years.. when everyone expects something it usually won't happen.   The big fish know that all the little fish are waiting to feed on leftovers and believe me they are greedy.  They don't want to share at all and usually just eat the little fish in the process.

All the little fish are selling like mad waiting to buy in at a lower price, best to just jump out of the pool and wait while the big fish get fat and happy on the dumb little fish that stayed.   Of course I was playing with a few btc and now stuck in cash.  I know it won't go my way. LOL

Just browsing old 6hr charts.  From Aug 2, 2016 to Sept 26, 2016 looks very close to what we have now.  Just going by how many billions can be taken and put back in the market within the day is astonishing to me though.

As far as Bcash, thanks for all the Christmas money Cheesy

I have a weird feeling that all the sellers are about to get wrecked.  This has just been way to predictable (slow falling) to catch suckers selling that want to buy in lower.   Dunno, just has that gotcha vibe to me cause even I'm thinking of cashing my daytard stash.

I didn’t say I wasn’t getting back in today. Am tempted to do so right now but will wait a bit longer.

And let’s be clear, over 95% of my portfolio is hodl.   This is just fun.  It is a challenge to myself to see if I can beat buy and hold ROI over an extended period.  And I have no confidence in my ability to actually pull it off.

Oh, I was just agreeing with you.  Just like you, I day trade with less than 1% of my crypto.   Anything significant is permanently embedded on Trezors.  Cheesy

Torque.. you are sooo right.  Worked my ass off for 20years putting 6% into my 401k like a good little minion. It's crap you can't touch without huge losses.  Straight up 10% penalty unless I'm over 65 and on my death bed.   Screw that junk.  I actually cashed out and took the hit. Payed off every bill I had and put some in crypto back in 2015.  Should have put more but being debt free was more important at the time.

I haven't regretted one bit cashing out of the system.   Would have to work another 20| years to even think about having the same amount I have today from investing lightly in crypto's from 2014 to 2015. LOL

12. Post 27121881 (copy this link) (by Deeyoh) (scraped on 2020-04-04_Sat_15.35h):

Here's my opinion.

Just while looking at the market cap, I like to see if money is taken out or just shuffled to other cryto's.   Looks like there is about 50b sitting on the sideline waiting to be thrown back in.  They really want more market share for themselves and to catch those weak hands.  Also, looks like 10billion has been funneled off to Ripple.. so what this means, it's probably reserve banks throwing their weight around.  No one likes Ripple that much. haha

Uggg, did you try to claim Bitcoin GOD coin?  Saw there was a phishing site for private keys.

I won't touch any of these fork coins unless Trezor has a split tool for them.

14. Post 27126895 (copy this link) (by Deeyoh) (scraped on 2020-04-04_Sat_15.36h):

Had my Trezors since early 2015 and they have been sitting on my desk behind my monitor for the past 2 years collecting dust.   Needless to say, I got out of the crypto scene and just focused on work until this year.   Never even took them out of the little boxes until I saw in Dec 17 that the price of btc hit 19k !

After cleaning the dust off the boxes, you know I was kind of nervous because I haven't even plugged them in almost 2 years.  Wondered if the little display would work and so forth.  I have my seeds so was no big deal.   Well, plugged the first one in and voila worked like a champ but needed updates badly... was on like ver 1.2 or earlier.   Unplugged and held both buttons down and plugged back in.  Updated flawlessly.  Same with the 2nd one.

There was all my BTC and what the heck there's BCH/BitcoinGold ready to be split in their nice little tool.   Split both coins and sent them to exchanges to be exchanged.

Never got into the whole HW wallet thing. Are they worth it?

Is there any one big significant drawback?

Zero Drawback!  Probably safest way to store your coins besides laser engraving the keys on a steel block and putting that in a fireproof vault.   Although, you could get hacked when putting those key's on a compromised computer to spend.  Not so with a Trezor.. doesn't matter if the computer is compromised.

Dont know if worth but,

offline PC with offline Printer and original Wallet works fine for years now.

...if you are not too lazy to type sometimes a few things Smiley

I run Armory with watch only accounts. I have a virgin laptop that has never touched the internet for signing transactions offline. I got a ledger and and a Nano Blue earlier this year. I will keep the paper wallets as they are , but I do like the ledger products.

Uggg, don't get me started on Armory.  It's great and very very secure but also very clunky.   I had 2.5 BTC stuck in my Armory wallet for the last 3years. Feb 16th 2014, I put 2.5btc in Armory as a test and set a AES256 encryption password. Welp.. had a lot going on at the time and didn't write the damn password down.  3 years later I finally guessed the password. Haha  yep, 50k dollars is hell of a motivator.    Well as you imagine this a very old version of armory and I didn't have an updated version or BitcoinD running and no way to sync to a database.  I finally exported my wallet keys about 100 of them and had to input each private key to see which one held the btc.

Start a Blockchain.info wallet.   Go to Settings, Addresses and Click the Import Address.  Put in the public key.  This way it's watch only and can see what's on that address.  Next you can use the More Options button and spend if you have the private key.   Did that to import my old Armory private keys.

You know the ripple pump is happening now.  My buddy called me last night.. He's known I was buying bitcoins since mid 2013 but he never bought any. Then he mentioned he wanted to buy some Ripple.   I was like ummm.. now would be a good time to dump ripple when the masses are piling in.   The Dump will crush a lot of people.   He is really getting into it since I sent him .1 btc and 5 ltc to play with for Christmas.

I did tell him to just buy $100 of anything he wanted every month and hold it.  Never know.

"If you want low fees and payments, use BCH or wait for LN to mature."

Why, I already use LTC or ETH for low fee's and small payments.  BCH is looking to solve some problem that doesn't exist or there are already 1000 alt coins that do the same thing or better.   LTC just transfers so much faster. I sent some BCH and it took just as long as a BTC send. So in reality, it doesn't solve anything.

I am going to wait and see what the Model 3 high performance version does.  I have a deposit down. The Model S is a bit too big and bulky for my liking.   Did you look at the Teslas?

In other news I would like to express my disappointment at the rising BTC price. I have put a lot of effort into a bear market strategy over the past week that doesn’t require shorting and am now ready to go.  And the bloody price is rising and I’m twiddling my thumbs!

Of course I’m long BTC and delighted but I really did want to test it out....

On January 20th, 2018, at block height of 505050, a hard fork will happen on Bitcoin (BTC) blockchain and create a new blockchain asset - Bitvote (Token: BTV; Website: http://bitvote.one/). Bitvote (BTV) increases its blocksize to 8MB and adopts SegWit, which to a large degree has improved it transaction efficiency. BTV supports CPU mining with CryptoNight algorithm and has a total supply of 21 million.

From what I'm seeing.. it won't be much longer until we have another bubble burst.  When companies ever borrowing more money to increase their stock value and the gov buying stocks to prop them up.  Cans can be kicked for a long time but damn.. if they start kicking back.

Wake me up when it is near $200 and I will reconsider my position. For me, it is one of my "hedging" alts so I don't need to quickly react to pump & dumps unless some key targets are reached too fast.

Good thing is that whenever that pump finishes it will help rise BTC with some of the profits.

Gridseed wasn't them now was it? The Gridseed used hurricane chips and the zeus line was Gaw right? I owned a thunder x3 I custom modded and sold years ago.

Gridseed and Zeus Miners were legit companies that made miners they sold under their own brand. GAW also resold them and had Zeus Miners make some miners for GAW that were rebranded with names like Falcon and War Machine. The Thunder was a Zeus made and branded miner.

Yeah, must have been resells.  Have my email still from GAW in March 2014.  Funny, was 400 bucks back then and maybe mined like .1 BTC and various other coins.  Sold all them for BTC probably equaled about .8 BTC.

I can't wait to start seeing tread titles.   Why is BTC so expensive???  No normal person can buy it.

Duh! because you didn't buy when it was down.  I was buying every month from 2013 to 2016 with what I could afford to play with.  Probably 200 to 400 a month and a few bonus checks.  Just a pretty cheap car payment and it didn't devalue like a car would have.  So just put in a car payment worth to see at the end of 5 years if you can buy a car with it.  I'm sure you could buy whatever damn car you like by then.

I bought 2 side by sides.. YXZ1000R and a Wolverine, 24' enclosed trailer and a RV to tow all my toys with.

Anyone want a 2016 Yamaha YXZ1000R SE side by side?  Would like to sell it for BTC if I could in the south east US.  Just don't really know best place to go about it.  We have 2 side by sides and we only use the Wolverine around the farm.

Read where DOW Futures point to an opening 500 points higher this morning.  So.. those same people probably will be pushing up the price of bitcoin.  Have a tight stop on shorts if you are in them now.

Also that dude in the article is a crackpot. LOL He totally missed the entire point of crytocurrency.   Plus stating the tulip thing is soooo stupid.  Just a medium of value exchange anywhere in the world is a huge point he missed entirely.

Don't like the DOW dumpage today.  Means investors are skittish but they have been that way for awhile now with BTC.   Hope it doesn't affect BTC price to much.

147. Post 48543183 (copy this link) (by Deeyoh) (scraped on 2020-04-04_Sat_16.19h):

But look how thin on the sell side of the real orderbooks are on exchanges.   Took less than 2k BTC to push the price up >500 Dollars on Finex.   So, all this dumping is pure price suppression.     Looking there is less than 1k BTC to buy up to over 4k dollars.  No one is really selling at this price just the exchange bots on a rampage.

148. Post 48624486 (copy this link) (by Deeyoh) (scraped on 2020-04-04_Sat_16.20h):

Wonder how all those shorts will be able to cover if there's not that many BTC for sell.   I'm estimating at least 200k margin'd shorts out in the wild right now.  All the sell order books are thin and don't even have that many until way above 10k.   If this price suppression doesn't hold, oh wow it's gonna be a blow off top for sure.

Bears still way to comfortable.  Longs going down and shorts going up on this last little pump.   Then again, that would be nice fuel with few longs to impede the rise.   Only 125 mil short rekts on Bitmex since yesterday.  I'm looking for at least 400mil short carnage to really have some hope of a new run up.

I'm going to buy a handful of shares, db won't go under. Banks are going to be making money forever.

The toxicity doesn't disappear just because they get bought or bailed out. It just makes the host toxic.

Who was one of the biggest triggers for the 2008 banking collapse ?

Royal Bank of Scotland.

Why ?

They were reasonably solvent until they "took over" ABN Amro, half of who's balance sheet was filled with toxic sub-prime securities. Like swallowing a bottle of bleach.

Similarly, whoever buys Deutsche, the experience will be like "swallowing a bottle of bleach". But maybe that's something that some people enjoy Wink

They want to merge DB with Commerzbank? That would be merging two bottles of bleach... .  Grin

More like mixing Ammonia and Bleach Cheesy

So uh anyone want to do an OTC give me a PM. Introduction only, DYOR yadda yadda

I told him to go speak to Cumberland as well.

This would be easy.  Just pick an exchange like Coinbase and put up 1000 BTC buy walls until you have what you want.  Plenty of bears and panicking newbs around now days to sell into them.

Hopefully the price suppressors will take more days off than just the weekend since it's the Christmas period! Cheesy
In the we'll still go lower though, or at that's what I should believe in order to go up!

I have a hypothesis about the price suppressor's.  Must be the banking industry for sure.  Think they are busy trying to stay afloat in the stock market at the moment and not focusing on Crypto's..   In other words, the stock market crash is keeping them busy elsewhere.
