No nothing. Normal internet provider and normal ip. Maybe I´m new here and thats the reason.

Well with a half a percent in commission for tradeing, it means if you sold just one bitcoin, you need the price to drop at least $8.2 to be able to buy in and break even. That's 1% of a bitcoin. Is it really worth the risk/effort?
Yeah the fees are ruining it but I still have 50% of the coins.

Well, time to move all coins from gox to stamp. Gox is still charging 0,6% on my account.
But anyway, you see the problem? If you want to make small profits, the fees are ruining it anyway. You pay 32$ on sell and 32$ on buy. So on 20 BTC´s the price must fall at least 4$ only to pay the fees. And the risk is high that you sell and wait for a price drop but the price goes up and at the wors scenario it will never come down again.

Move to BTCChina if it's just for trading then. 0% fee's. You can trade in and out at 50cents if it makes you feel comfortable.
Great thanks, didn´t know that. But as I can see, the price on BTCChina is mostly pretty constant.

LTC is heating up as well. Don't see a reason why it wouldn't reach 10-20% of BTC value soon.
The question is: why would it? Feels kind of weird saying this (usually normal people tell bitcoin people this), but there is basically no acceptance for litecoin at the moment, it's 100% speculation.
Because people think that it will follow the same way as bitcoin did so they are buying cheap in on 2 digits and hope it will be flying high as BTC. As you said, only speculation. But everybody who bought in 2 days ago at 9$ doubled their money already.

Unfortunately, this won't be happening more than twice, since many traders would be there ready to pull the trigger. Whenever this happens there's always the strong possibility to lose some of your coins and/or fiat...

The best part about Gox infininite loop is the moments after it starts to function again, and hundreds of market buys and sells go through...
Why? Because for [x number of minutes] people are placing orders, but they cant cancel them even if they wanted to..
They all go through once the loop stops.
That would really suck if so.

Last crash played out over 2 days ( dec5-7 almost in to 8 ) however the low was hit about 24hrs from the first drop.. I sold at 870 had I waited 24 hrs I was laughing got back in much earlier and saved myself some stress but lost future profits.
With that being said analyze the information you have.. and find a re-entry point(at a gain and loss) that seems reasonable since I believe you already sold.
Either way you need to find a reason
why you think the crash slides, drops or ends.
Yes I sold at the bottom @650 and would be happy if I only could get my coins back. I had 35 coins before I registered here in the forum. With listening to some people here I panic sold so many times. With a loss of 4 BTC´s. And now I panic sold again because people here were writing it is the end, adam was even crying. So I sold all at the bottom. Looks like its better to move the coins to a wallet and forget the forum here.

If 'rather unsurprisingly wild price swings during an unprecedented, world wide, mostly unregulated capitalization event' automatically look to you like 'manipulation', I'd recommend leaving this market, or at least putting your coins into cold storage and not looking at the charts.
The coins I have, I HODL. It´s only that I want more coins and am not sure when to get in. Now we´re going up. But this can also be a trap.

That is the spread. In the situation you just described there are no ask orders from 350 up to 370 thus it is very easy to just buy 0.01 and make the price appear to be 370.

imo you think its going down, so I advise putting in bids below market price going down by 10-20 $ at a time. You ultimately decide howmmany coins you want factor that in to figure how much of that 50k you need to spend to get to your target
Ok lets say $46700 on stamp and goal is 100 coins but we never went down to 460 on stamp. So I guess 80 coins would be great. But that would mean we need to go down to $577. I think that seems impossible at the moment.

After replying to the people shouting at me for being a scammer, I was eventually able to narrow the source of the leak to Bitstamp at the very least, and likely a few other sources on top of it.
I informed Bitstamp that they had at least a breach on their email list, if not the rest of their system. At first they denied it, but in a follow up they eventually admitted to it.
They then sent out a little security update email mentioning 2FA/password security.
TL;DR:

FUCK BITCRAMP
AND FUCK BTC-PEE TOO

you sure you have the right address? if you type in the address incorrectly the checksum will fail. once you are sure the problem is not user error, contact support.

Surely we are all making estimates about what to do based on our information and knowledge.. .and sometimes based on what others say.
In my thinking it is pretty unlikely that you are fucked at that $685 buy-in price, unless you sell and lock in your losses then you would be fucked. My average buy in price is around that same amount and I am NOT worried (but I only have invested about half that amount, so far, and my investments are diversified.... into other things as well.... so I am prepared to lose all, if things were to go too sour).
Anyhow, I am buying more BTC if the price goes into the $500s, which may be soon... but I only buy in small increments.. maybe 1 BTC at a time, or less. if the price goes lower, I will buy more.. but I also have a buy budget... only a certain amount at a time.
I'm NOT selling or considering selling based on the news that I have NOW in front of me (unless I know for sure the price is going further down by like 10% from my sell, then I may attempt to increase my holdings buy buying back in at the lower price). At this time, I expect that if I were to sell, then the price would reverse and start to go back up.
Also, I expect within a week or so, we should be back into the upper 600s... and within a couple of weeks.. maybe stretching out into the 1 month time frame we should be between 750 and 850 area....
Of course, I could be wrong... and that wouldn't be the first time... .. so we each need to go with our gut and our risk profile and our current diversification of investments to make our decisions.
I know, normaly I would not panic because I bought in november for 14k @780 and was chilled all the time. But now I´m only worried becaude of these hundrets of thousands of Bitcoin movements from the wallets since yesterday. So I was a bit in panic mode.

I see the problem in the identification process. As I heared from Bitcoin in 2012 (and the price was at about $50), I was very interested. But then I´ve seen that they want ID´s and bills and banc account verification so I forgot about Bitcoin again until mid April 2013.
2nd problem is the security. Hackers seems like everywhere and all this paper wallet stuff is complicated too. As the article says, Bitcoin is 10 years too early that is correct.
Isn´t it interesting that a hacker is doing the same thing as a man who rips a bank? If you ask the hacker "would you rub a bank?" he would say "no" but is doing the same thing on his computer. I think a person who steals Bitcoins must get also in prison exactly like somebody who rubs a bank.

Really? How hard is it for a businessman or even a young guy to make a bank transfer to a exchange? It takes 2 minutes to make a bank transfer and by the next day (at least on bitstamp with sepa), you have your money there.
Also, there are loads of Bitcoin ATMs all over the world now. I don't think it could be easier.

There are ways to put your cash to work, without getting so anxious about having some cash that may seem as if it is not working (because it is merely in reserve for wider downward price swings, for example).
So for example, underdog 81 could allocate the cash towards buying at certain strategic points...
Let's say for example, Underdog 81 has about 100 bitcoins and about $20k in cash, but he does not have any other investments.
I don't really have any major problem with someone who doesn't want to invest in stocks or gold or real estate... Actually bitcoin gives quite a bit of flexibility to trade whenever a guy wants, and there are ways in which the fees can be near or close to zero in bitcoin, as compared with some other mainstream investments.
Accordingly, underdog 81 should figure that for every dollar bitcoin goes up, his total BTC portfolio value goes up $100... accordingly, if BTC goes up $10, then his BTC portfolio goes up $1000... There's a lot that can be worked from that framework... and he should not be conceiving that he will get more rich if he invests all of his fiat in BTC because, there would likely be too much stress and resentment if the BTC market works against him.
Accordingly, underdog81 could stagger his cash allocation to invest in $5 or $10 increments.. and maintain some flexibility. For example, he could invest into BTC approximately $500 for every $5 that BTC prices go down, and sell $200 for every $10 that it goes up.. (and don't be too rigid).
There are a lot of ways to tweak the preallocated numbers too, especially a person does not want to be too rigid especially if he is pretty sure that he can buy BTC cheaper in the next few hours or sell higher in the next few hours (or even days); however, at the same time, a guy doesn't want to become too greedy either, so needs to lock in the buy or the sell at certain points when the price direction may be changing, even if it is not at the exact top or bottom of the price swing... and there is no need to catch every price swing either because it is good to have "a life" even when trading the BTC price swings... it certainly should become easier after some practice and there are ways to learn to leave orders open when the market leaves you behind in either direction, because each of your BTC trades are not a high percentage of your total BTC holdings...
And, with such a strategy, underdog81 should be able to build both fiat and BTC... in the long run, as long as don't get too whimsical in strategies or greedy. Oh, and sometimes in that regard, a person needs to have enough patience to wait out the price to let the price come to him or just to let it slide when the price seems to be going in the opposite direction... just sell at a higher price or buy at a lower price... when the price moves against you.. in order to make up for the still open position.
The problem with daytrading is, as I live in Germany (and understood it correctly), I have to pay 30% taxes with every cashout. Only when I hold longer than 1 year, then there are no taxes. And hell I don´t give them dicks $1 of taxes. I invest and risk my money and if I lose it they don´t care. But when I make profits, they want 30%. Fuck them.
Otherwise without taxes I would do it. Buy 50 coins @450, sell them @460 and make $500 profit. Wait for a little crash, redo it etc. I know you mean it different but thats what I would do if there were no taxes.
The 60% investment is long term. With the rest I would try daytrading and make some extra cash with every high/low.

Not that I sold, I hold my coins. But it´s not the first time I thought about it to exit BTC @500. Thats the price where I would be back at $0 loss or profit since I invested in BTC. I created my paper wallets back in 2013 and did not touch them ever again. Even that was a mess at that time. Buy or format your computer only to create the paper wallets. There is a step between having a paper wallet and sending it to the exchange.
You have to import your private key into a hot wallet before sending it to the exchange. When you send less than 10 bitcoins to the exchange, depending upon your hot wallet software, you will either get the remaining coins in a different address or it will go back to your original address (blockchain.info).
Either way, once you import your private key to a hot wallet...it's no longer secure. You need to go through the process to put it on a paper wallet again.

My recommendation would be to download the Coinomi wallet to your Android smartphone, add the coins bitcoin, bitcoin cash and bitcoin gold. Then choose bitcoin and use the sweep option from the alternatives in the upper right corner to either scan the QR code or type in the private key. You now have your bitcoins in the Coinomi wallet instead of in your paper wallet. Then you do the same with bitcoin cash and bitcoin gold. you now have an empty paper wallet (almost, there are 29 more coins to claim, but they are not yet supported by Coinomi, so save the "empty" wallet for later).
you can now use one of the two built in exchanges to convert your altcoins to bitcoin or some other altcoin if you so wish. Then just send whatever amount you want from Coinomi to an exchange if you wish to cash out to fiat, and make a new paper wallet for the rest if you feel uncomfortable with having your coins on a phone wallet.

Sorry for that stupidish question. I invested 2013 in Bitcoin and holding since then. My Coins are on a paper wallet and I don't have much to do with cryptos since then. Everybody is talking about tether these days. I have no idea what that is again. Do I have to do anything with my bitcoins before this tether thing crashes? Or simply hold another few years?
It isn't stupid to ask IMO.
Very briefly:
Tether, as per the FAQ pointed above, is a substitute for USD pegged 1:1.
It's being used to add fiat-like liquidity.
There are worries of over-creation of tether (fractional reserve), along with more complex hypotheses.
If it is a fake, and it pops, there will be some blood and unpleasant consequences on BTC price.
However, bitcoin has lived through worse events (Gox, for example). If one believes in the long-term future of bitcoin, tether shouldn't be able to sway their course of action for the long run.
TL;DR: Just hodl.

When I first read MOA's post, I thought the same thing, but since generally speaking, MOA is a very reasonable poster, I thought that it was not a problem to leave him to get away with a few exaggerations here or there - outside scenarios or otherwise "bullshit", as you tagged such propositions.
My view is that breaking below $10k will cause a pretty decent chance for $9,300; however, there is still going to be decent sized buying support at each $1,000 level - including $8k and $7k that must be broken through before getting anywhere near anything approaching inevitable lower price points....
I do think that if we do happen to get below, about $6,666 (chosen for additional comedic effect), then at that point $5k and even spiking down to $3k has a decent chance - yet on the other hand, if it takes us a few months before we are even able to get down to $6,666, then at that point, $6k would become a very likely double bottom... and we's not be going below dat... without a really BIG ASS battle.
Edit: In response to posts coming after LFC's asserting that the purge will cause the removal of ICOs, parasitic alts, problematic 3rd parties such as coinbase, bitpay etc, these are fantasy considerations because the cryptospace is about 99.5% NOT ready for such purging.. and accordingly these fuck job bad actors and parasites are going to be around for at least one more BTC pump cycle... because no fucking purge is ready - even though I agree that it would be deserved, but the happening of such, is too fucking much fantastical thinking and for that reason not going to happen and therefore we are not going to get some kind of long winter now... because the space remains geared up for another irrational and stupid-ass pump, whether we want it or not.. there are a lot of dumb shits that are going to be putting more money into this space rather than smart money purging out the impurities and/or parasites.

From where are you getting the impression that guys are "sure"? We seem to be batting around scenarios, and some of those scenarios don't even come to play unless $10k breaks, which has not happened yet... and when we were at $11,500+, there was not even any kind of certainty that we were going to be coming back down, because at that time, we could have broken further UP, too..
I'm sure that there are some folks that are playing BIG and guessing correctly, and maybe TERA2 is going to come back in here and tell us how she played it all correctly and how now it is going down to lower points, that she had already set herself up for such play.. maybe she speaks truth and maybe she is just bullshitting, even if the waves end up playing fairly close to her early outline of what was going to happen (but still does not mean that she can foresee the future - even if the outlined scenario ended up coming out largely correct).

As the bull market started in November 17, I saw the similar patterns to 2014. Posted a few times here that it will end like the MtGox desaster but earned "this time is different" posts. I am a long time holder since 2013 and it felt like the time is right to sell. But had no balls to sell at 19k.
Maybe I wrote that first post just out of frustration. I have no idea where we are heading to. But it really feels like 2014 again. And seeing 2.5k would hurt damn much. I am pretty doubtfull it would recover from there ever again.
Question is, sell now and be happy with what you have or just go full risk and wait until end 2018 or 2019 :/

Is it me or is 8k actually huge? When I think over and over it again, just 2 years ago, when the market moved over let's say 2k, I felt panic because 2k was insane. We all knew that it will crash at some point. And not many people expected 20k. All the way up it felt like surreal.
Now we are at 8k and it feels pretty normal. Just like $500 felt normal after the 1.2k mtgox crash. That is really just foreshadowing what awaits us with the next run. I really expect 60-70k in the next 1-2 years.

First make sure that you transfer/sweep ALL of btc to a new wallet first.
Even experienced people sometimes forget about change, make a small tx, then proceed to lose the rest of it.

The right side of the cup and handle where it pumped up from $4k was entirely artificial and non-aggregate, originating from a single entity. Just a single green candle straight up. It's called painting the tape. They tried to paint a bullish chart signal to trick people into buying.
Bitcoin is probably the fakest market on the entire planet. People pretend some type of market exists when every movement is always a single entity. There is no Bitcoin market. It doesn't exist. With how ridiculously micromanaged the Bitcoin chart is by this entity, there are very few possibilities of who it could be. There's clearly an enterprise team that rigs it 24/7 around the clock.

Edit - Just import your private keys into the above wallets, simple.

I believe bcash has its own electrum version. You can try it.

All factors being equal... one could say double than now (ie: $6Kx2=$12K). But factors are not and won't be equal. Hashrate, electricity cost, efficiency of new miners, cost of those new miners, overhead business costs, etc etc.... and more importantly which part of supply/FREE FLOAT is determined by mining sales.
In the end it all reduces to supply and demand... and mining is just a part of that supply.
Any PANIC/capitulation or FOMO/euforia phase can make mining costs
completely somewhat irrelevant and disjointed from actual market price, at least in the short/medium term.

You can feel the bottom is near, all I see is panic, and one final move down to perhaps $6000 or $5300 would be the final capitulation.
Where do you see panic? I dont see any volume. Just somebody sold a lot of coins at once to break through 7k and now its death again. Real panic is when the volume starts to skyrocket.

Clearly few people try to drop the price. Check the chart. It was over 7k and some people sold huge amounts to get sub 7k. Then we were heading over 7k and these people dumped another few thousand coins to avoid that. I am sure that's good what they doing. Otherwise there was no attractive entry price for bitcoin. We need interest and volume to reach the new ATH. It's just hodl and relax another year or two. Maybe ever less.

Back in 2014 when I entered Bitcoin $10 gains were normal and $100 gains a day were huge. Now some times $1000 gains a day seem normal. Maybe soon $10k a day gains will be huge.
