enjoy having no coins ..unless your liquidating less than 20% otherwise enjoy profit taking.

I mean..you'd be like the xxxxx bear to claim a crash in impending and be wrong.. keep guessing you're bound to hit it like a lottery you can play for free.

Otherwise stop trying to induce panic for no other reason then to probably buy back at a lower price.

Less then 20%. Never go out/in full.

China is long awake. It's 10am in western europe. So it's late afternoon in china.

I think it's a dead cat bounce. China is struggling -> before it was 200-300$ ahead of GOX, now the gap is smaller then 50$.

Is that what you really think? I whole heartedly disagree for the following reasons.

A. China is currently being arbitraged against the other exchanges.
B. China did not start this rally from $200 - Gox and Stamp did.
C. China lagged slightly behind the rally and then took off way ahead.

In conclusion, China is going to blast off soon. And by "awake", I mean they just started buying again 45 minutes ago. Look at the charts.

A lot of people have money @ BTC China and can't get it out. They transferred their coins there and sold at over 1000$!
They wait till the gap from gox/stamp to btc china closes, buy back @ btc china, transfer the coins and then drop the coins @ gox or stamp

I sold on the way up, and bought back -> I have more btc than before and lots of goxdollars aka bitcoin trading tokens to buy even more bitcoins.
How do you increase your btcs? Buy and hold is ok, but it has nothing to do with increasing your btc wealth.

Thats ridiculous. Very few "normal" guys can throw $70,000 USD onto what is still very much an extremely speculative investment. Maybe you're on wallstreet and think $70K is throw away money, but don't be confused. You have to be crazy well off to throw $70,000 into something as far out as bitcoin.

Probably I live in a country with a lot more money available for the average joe.
20 Bitcoins are worth 11-12k CHF -> most people with academic background earn that in 1-1.5 months!

Yes, I can tell you, 20-100 BTC are no problem to invest including portfolio diversification (bitcoin shouldn't be more then 10% of your savings -> high risk).

BTW. I'm a student and I have more then 20 BTCs..

Yeah 8K Euro / Month NET? Sure bro! Most people with an academic background look at 3K Euro NET / Month. Anyway you're a student, what do you know.

I'm nearly finished with my masters degreed and work part time...
I know the salary pretty well.

I wasn't talking about NET, because that depends on the tax region, health insurance policies, ... - there are big differences in switzerland! But it's no problem to invest every year 10-20k Euro with a normal job.

If you have a family and 3 children, cars, expensive holidays, then you probably are not capable of investing 10-20k euro/year in bitcoin.

Quote from: lemonte on November 21, 2013, 03:43:43 PM
Dream world!! Average net in Switzerland is 4,948 CHF according to Wikipedia (£3,348.85) and don't forget, this is relative to the price of living out there.

I was talking about people with academic background.. not the working poor without proper education...
Yeah, there are a lot of working poor, even in switzerland. Just don't have kids before 35 and you can live like a king here. But if you're stupid enough to get your girlfriend pregnet with 20, you have pretty much lost.

To get a loan - or not to get a loan.  That is the question.

I've only got 20% of my savings in BTC at the moment, but that was all the free cash I had and everything is else tied up in tax efficient savings/funds.  So if I want to bring more fiat in quickly to catch this rocket I either need to liquidate something or take out a loan.  I can get £7.5K @4.9% on a one year loan, with a 2 month payment holiday at the start and no early redemption penalty, which would take BTC up to 50% of my portfolio (poncey word, but you know what I mean).  Is this a risk too far - or a no-brainer?

the ugliest thing is that is happening over the weekend, no money deposits and there is nothing we can do about it, except if you want to risk and sell now and wait the price to drop so you can buy lower there nothing else to do.

and I think this is what is happening the price wont go higher because allot of us are sitting and waiting for something to happen, or the other traders who are selling now to catch a lower price to buy back and I think the second ones are crashing the price....

If this price holds today tomorrow we will have a big race, we can jump from this price to over 1000 in a matter of couple of days

Why do we need more money?
All sold coins were traded with fiat money.

We just need more money when the price was not sustainable and that is still the case.
Price could dropt lower.

With new money the price will rise and a lot of buyers are going to taje profit > selling preasure

I bought @ 420-450 € this crash, so I'll sell 20-60% @ 700-800€.

No! Probably you don't get it. It's not real profit till you sell. If everyone is going to sell @ 10k, there won't be 10k, rather 1$.

Your belief that your fiat/gold/apartments/BTC holdings makes your life better than 99.99% of the people on earth is pretty indicative of your horizon and take on life, which makes me personally think your life quality is pretty shitty compared to most people with views on life less focused on holdings and money.

+1

I don't know why people with shit load of money think that they win in life, I was raised in a poor family and I had the best childhood and memories, having more money didn't make me happier...

There is a difference between getting born with money or earned it with hard work. I'm the later.
And no, I'm not bosnian or serbian. I'm swiss in the 13th generation > don't have writtings before.

I never had much in my childhood. Had to wear secondhand clothes, but i had a very good time. Food and shelter was never a problem.

Btw: with more money, you can travel a lot. That helps to improve you.
My point is:
You need to do something to earn money.
Just buy a cryptocurrency and hoarding is nothing.
That's wallstreet greed which you all try to flee.

Or is the only purpose here to make a few poor rich? That would really be ironic, becoming what you hate most.

I personally follow and post here the 5 rules of success for you:
1. Don't get emotional from other's people thoughts.
2. Everyone here is a "nice person" you can trust.
3. IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO, TRADE.
4. SELL!!!
5. Until you desperately need the bitcoin follow rule #4.

Good Luck!

I think this has another panic down leg in it yet

So you think this is a bull trap within a bear trap.

It's a bull trap within a bear trap within huge bull trap (or so called bubble).

This has nothing to do with a bubble.  The Chinese government is simply shutting down Bitcoin for all intents and purposes.  Calling this a bubble would be like saying Silk Road was a bubble or Liberty Reserve was a bubble.  They're things that once had value and no longer have value due to gov't intervention.

This year was a huge bubble...
There was no correlation between price and increase in transactions.
It was pure speculation. If you don't see that, stop trading  Tongue

Buy and holders (bought @ 10-15$) will be ok, but buyers @ above 1000$ will get punched in the face.

Sell if you think it's going lower and want to take the risk, but don't let fear take hold. It leads to the Dark Side.

No offense, but selling now is even more stupid then NOT selling @ 1000$

I think it helped to be on this forum. Holding out for another month.

No offense. But why hold? You could have sold @ 500-600 Euro (top was 900 Euro) and rebuy @ 320-350 Euro!
Much profit! So easy. Just place bids and wait for the panic sellers.

We will go down at least 1 more! So don't cry if you rebuy now (after you sold below the actual price) and we drop again to a new low.

Pffft yeah i'm sure everyone in here sold at 1242USd and rebought at 455. Easy 272% profit! Sure market lost billions in cap but i'm sure everyone is a winner here. Now please do tell us of your TA/magic ball predicting tops and bottoms. Personally i just held and rebought a bit

First:

Read the news -> the sources
Don't give a fuck about bitcointalk speculation talk! -> 99% pigs with no clue
If you trade: trade with a strategie or a bot (with a self written algorithm)

I couldn't predict this bottom exactly. That's why my 200-300 Euro bid orders didn't get filled.
The top was fairly easy to guess (+/- 50 Euro).

My trades the last few days:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=373181.msg4038895#msg4038895

A few were not really good, but overall the performance is ok.

Second:
Never go all-in or all-out! NEVER!
Don't buy in large chunks (compared to your portfolio) @ the same price
Be patient. Don't panic trade!

Quote from: mmitech on December 19, 2013, 09:55:15 AM
you know that Bitcoin will skyrocket when there is so many bears here...

Clever bears allready rebought.
Only stupid bulls turning to late bear are going to be buying in at a loss.

It's allways the same.. Dellusion and Fear...and Panic selling/buying.

well I 'guessed' we'd take a dive after 1200 before we reached it, sold at 1190 and I had a buy at 456 after the recent china news but I never follow through since it's not really based on anything - bought and sold many times during the drop reacting to crap on the forum and chart movement so didn't make much from it.

Dont trade based on bitcointalk bullshit talk!

how can you be so sure?

Because bitcoin is still overbought.
And I'm pretty sure, but I allways have a backup plan. If it goes up more.. that's ok. I'm never all in or out. But I'll manage my risks different. I won't ever make the biggest profits (virtual), but I take "real" profits and better profit allways small time, then once bigtime (with the chance to lose all).

Just ask yourself a few question:
Has the situation changed after the chinese news?
What's different?
Who is going to keep the price stable a higher levels?

Would you bet with your life, that we are going straight to a new ATH? Without further waterfalls? I wouldn't. And I simple don't bet on one horse.

How could Mirsad be right? You still haven't figured out he is the most smartest person on the planet and never made a bad trade? And that he is 16th generation Swiss with Bosnian name that lives better life than 99% of the planet?

Come one, how could you not know that? Cheesy

One thing you didn't get.
We make fun of bosnians every day. Not all.. but most of them are really bad integrated. They can't speak proper german/swiss german after 20 years here!

And the most important thing: They think, that this is their country... damn suckers. They could easily go back. But no free iphones, clothes, appartments and cars from the government. Bad thing: They have way more children than educated people -> amount of suckers steadily increases.

I've to apologize for every hard working bosnian, which is good integrated.

If these walls really are his, he is the one getting trolled today. First wall got eaten, price rebounded, and now the next walls are getting munched

Why? He made a fuck load of money during this crash. And that's what his investors want -> FIAT!

BTC was down @ 455$, now  above 700$ -> huge profits for people, that turned bear or had a good strategie.
Sell above 1000$ (he surely did), buy back between 455 and 550 (was easy with placed bids) -> sell above 700$

Wait for the next iteration. Even if he has to buy back @ 800$, he increased BTC holding much more than all bulls.

So banks are not safe, what else is new? Grin

Bitcoin is not safe (not 100%)  Grin
It's easier to steal bitcoins than fiat money in a bank account technically.

Bitcoin wallets only have 1 factor authentification (password), a few are even unecrypted. All it needs is a keylogger and the average joe will lose all his bitcoin holdings.
Nerds store them complete offline, but that doesn't help joe. He just don't have the skills to do it (or knows it's necessary).

Bitcoin wallets clearly need 2 factor authentification. Online wallets don't count, they are not safe!

if you think that hoarding is bad, then I think you should give away not only all crypto but all fiat money too. maybe then you will understand what you don't get so far.

There is a big difference between houses, goods, fiat and crypto currencies.

Crypto is in the early adoption phase -> we need to activily use it to make it accepted. If all the miners in 2009 had only hoarded bitcoin, we wouldn't be here with a price @ nearly 1000$. I think you didn't get it so far.

Without utility nothing gains any value. And if ALL are hoarding, it's not going to work.

If everybody would hold -> who could buy new coins? Noone?
You are hoarding to get an advantage, you wan't your part of the big share and holding to it like a maniac.

@ mizar:
I probably have a few factors more invested in crypto than you. If you hold more than 100 btc or similar value in any other altcurrency, I won't say anything. But you probably are one of the pigs with 0.05 bitcoin.

You just don't have the balls to hodl.

I have 3 btc holdings.
1: Mining -> steadily increasing -> nothing sold and won't sell anything
2. Speculation -> Selling high, buying low -> can afford to lose all
3. Hodling -> paper wallet -> won't sell anything below 10000$, then start partially selling (btc amount % decrease, so I'll ever hodl some amount, even if btc reaches 1 billion dollars)

I'm still convinced that if nobody used btc to buy drugs, pizzas or anything else, we wouldn't be here. Only hodling doesn't help.
It work probably for the small hodler with 0.01 btc, because he doesn't have a significant influence on the market. These people (or more likely kids) are dreaming of cars and girls ... they are just scumbugs trying to profit without doing anything. Like parasites.

It is still the same here. 99% retards losing money. The 1% are the early investors and some lucky traders.

So you think we'll be back to single digits in a couple of years huh? Which essentially means BTC has failed. But you're back, so....

I never did say that.
The bitcoin protocol has not failed. But the bubble has to deflate and better payment systems have to be implemented.
In the last 1.5 years, no really progress was made in that direction.

I do not count Bitcoin payment procressors as progress. They only dump -> Why should I buy bitcoin with USD/EUR/... with fees, send them to Company XY -> and they convert it back to USD/EUR/... with fees.
This is just plain stupid.

We need a better distribution, better wallets and more sheep.

BTT:
I expect the bottom between 80-125$ to be honest.
There we will see a long sideways movement with a few peaks during 2015. Boring as hell.
So my advice.

Wait for another "crash" and buy some coins on the way down and then sit back and wait 1.5 years.
Either your coins are worthless or have increase by a factor of 2-10.

When do we officially get to laugh at the OP?  Double digits?  Seriously?

Probably in this forum full of kids an uneducated people ironic/sarcastic and troll tags are necessary.
Hmmm damn the same should apply to all "to the moon" threads or someone take them seriously.

BTW: Double Digits was yesterday! We will see single digits within 3 years. Sell now and take profits. If you bought over 1000$ check your mental status. Welcome aboard the failboat. Set sails to neverland.

You were right. I told that 2013. But there are too many nutters left to get to single digits.
But double digits are ok as well.

True. I have to apologize.
I do not know how much you have or had invested in bitcoin.
And you do not know how much I had invested. Since 2013 I changed my positions.

As you mentioned, BTC is play money. I never intended to get big returns.
The reason is, here in switzerland, they restricted the online trading with penny stocks, and they are besides BTC the most fun to trade, because they are volatile. Other investment do not need you presence, you just buy with a reason, set your limits, wait, repeat.

The difference is:
In the past you could accumulate with 10k $ a lot off a limited supply (bitcoin) -> wait for the pump and dump!
Today this is not possible, because you need a shitload off bagholders to push the price to the moon.

But yeah, some early adopters still try to push the price, because some were to stupid to ever lockin some profits and get out partially.

In case this is not a troll account of yours, you only lost money since entering bitcoin (or you shorted).
This is not the end, but 2014 was a great year to SHORT the shit out of bitcoin and some bullnutters. I took my profits above 800$ and thankfully waited more than 1 year to rebuy below 175$, only to sell again part of it above 210$.

I have more fiat and more bitcoins, but I still like to see bitcoin go down another 50$, just to see some tards lose their money and jump off a bridge.

Now we are entering the panic buying phase. Price can easily double overnight.

Buy and hold = boring and slow profit, if never sold, no profit at all
Buy low, sell high = more risk, more profit (BTC and $$$ wise)

Spreading your buy-ins wisely will reduce the risk of buy high and sell low.

There is a long way to go before the ATH.
And then a lot of SUCKERS (buy high) are going to sell to get out of BTC. And a lot of traders are going to sell (bought below 250$) part of their coins to lock-in profits.
Increase your fiat holding by a factor 5 and still hold more bitcoin than most suckers here, is really comforting. Poor beggars will always remain poor.
