Or the office realized they mistake posting the news on their site publicly too early after it was caught on reddit and everyone started withdrawing their funds. In any case btce is now the first place I'm going to be building my cold storage position from.
There is clearly a pattern building. The government will embrace Bitcoin but now they are trying to get rid of the old school (vanilla) exchanges before "Bitcoin 2.0" wave starts.
I think only Bitstamp remains right ? Dont get me wrong, MtGox and BTC-e wont die, but they could become ghost towns like BTCChina.
We all know the bankers are frustrated they didn't buy at $10, so they will kill all the tradition exchanges and establish new regulated ones in their place.

AFAIK banks in China reopened on Feb/07, perhaps some already on Feb/06; and they are usually open 7 days a week (although with reduced hours on the weekends).
Since their banks reopened, the Chinese have generally pulled the price down while they are awake. Check that hourly chart I posted yesterday. But the price is falling gradually even when they are all asleep.
Ah then that is bad news
. All this bad news is getting out of control, but I have to admit, BTC is really one strong coin. I guess the moon is still there after the fud clouds clear.

The only thing that has changed, at least for now in the Bitcoin world is that you cannot double up / 10x in 1-3 months like before which in a way is a good thing.
The community here is so addictive and vibrant that 1 week in Bitcoin world seems like an eternity. And usually when people invest in a technology they don't do it for 1-3 months, but rather years.
Also it is a new technology and be grateful that you can invest in it. I don't know many cases where ordernary people could get in something completely new before the big pockets come.
I bet people said the same thing about the Internet, email, torrents, mobile phones etc.
To be honest if I lose I wouldn't be too bitter since you cannot uninvent the technology behind bitcoin which is a breakthrough and could be used in many other domains and will be used.
In a way this is the beginning of Web3.0 and sending bits that cannot be faked or disputed in a network as huge as the internet surely has a lot of billions in value.

I strongly disagree with this statement. I'm not sure if you know how to code but in Computer Science you can't brute force yourself to innovation.

If you invest more than you afford to lose in bitcoin and for some reason it fails, I think you will have to blame yourself for that mistake.

The odds are 5:1 right now at these prices. I don't believe the odds for Gox BTC are as bad as that in reality. I might lose a lot of real BTC, so what, it's all play money I mined anyway. It's worth a gamble at these odds, I will have no regrets if I lose.
In a way its worth the gamble if you have the balls for it. I think also that people are over reacting. Maybe the bots on Gox just dump like crazy do plummet the price for arbitrage. Who knows...but I don't think Gox will go down without a fight.
Even after it will return some of the coins in a few months it will become a ghost town. You have to be an idiot to trade again on Gox imo.
