Seems to be a systematic dump off on Bitstamp today.  6k BTC earlier this morning.   Throughout the afternoon, there have been huge chunk sell offs that clear the entire buy wall.   Then there is a short break...and then repeat.  Still going on right now.   Weird things today...

just buy at 750 it wil go some coins lower.......... but then sky high  Wink

the predictions are right

I would say the contrary. Since we broke 750 support, is all the way down to 700 and even 600 if people panic more. And a recovery will be so slow, you'd grow old watching it.
this is the sad but true technical analysis. it is weak, and if it is left without interception from news it may well fall to 600, 500..... who knows.
but the good news is, that its not long before technical analysis is irrelevant because there are so many factors coming to fruition, mostly good.

faking the volume still means collecting fees for BTC China if that is what they are doing.  In my opinion faking the volume is still not nearly as bad as not being able to get your money out, like at Gox.

Woke up this morning seeing that we broke through the 800 mark, that is nice. Btc has been almost eerily stable lately, making me feel like there was going to be a big shift either way soon. I was actually waiting to see what i felt was the best re-entry point to add some more btc. I actually treat my btc wallets like and employer 401k. I bet on sports through my friend's sports book. Whenever i win, i add that, plus i match the winnings, and add it to bitcoin.

Its been going well. I have had 4 winning weeks in a row. The only problem is that my 4 winning weeks is just equal to the amount of my 1 losing week that i had 5 weeks ago. Funny how it always works out like that.

I don't think BTC will be trading higher than 840 by the end of this week.   I think we are going to be in a stable range of $785-$825 for a little while, unless some huge news comes out to make a big change.   As much as I hate to pay over $800 per BTC, I am still adding a little more here and there because I feel long term it will be worth it.   I just don't plan on trading the newly purchased coins anytime soon...

I get the feeling that the next massive volatility swing will be up. The market almost seems like it's trying to crash, but I think waiting forever to hit your price might be foolish. I try to buy the dips and sell the spikes.

Yeah, I know...I king of feel the same way.   I haven't sold any coins in awhile.  I have managed to sell at most of the peaks, but I still regret selling, as I wasn't in immediate need of the money.   I slowly just keep adding a little more here and there, but my dollar cost average keeps going up Sad

It's like a double edged sword because you want the price to tank so that you can stock up on more coins, but at the same time, you don't want the ones that you bought to be worth way less than you bought them for...

NEWS FLASH: Apparently Apple pulled the Blockchain.info wallet app for iPhone/iPad from the AppStore.

http://blog.blockchain.info/2014/02/06/blockchain-response-to-apple/

fuck apple, never buy anything from them and short their stock
fuck apple

Bitcoin bounty on epic Apple website/device hack?

Stop blaming Apple for the shortcomings of the bitcoin market!
Apple just wants to earn some $ and sell shiny telephones. Apple approves of Bitcoin in heart, because Apple also has a lot of support from cultish behavior and Apple has no problem with that.
Apple is just sad that if Apple won't remove blockchain.info app, then Ivan and Li Wei could threaten legal actions against their sales of shiny telephones. Apple is sorry, but Ivan and Li Wei bring Apple more $ then the ones that are loyal to bitcoin. Apple needs their $ to build even shinier telephones! Apple still hopes that they can be friends with bitcoin and is sorry that everything had to end like that. Sad

you can still get the full blockchain.info app on Cydia if you have a jailbroken iphone.   I think it sucks that they removed blockchain.info from the app store, but that doesn't change the fact that they still have the easiest phone to operate.  They are all about the profits, and if something would cause smaller profits to them, of course they are going to take action to remove it...

If USD withdrawals have not been fixed for almost 8 months, what makes you think they will fix BTC withdrawals in less than a month?
Two unrelated processes.
Cash holdup is possibly frozen assets during an investigation, or limited access to fiat due to banks' intransigency/fear.
BTC holdup is likely a bug in Gox's wallet software, as explained in the Gmaxwell reddit post linked upthread.

Anyone know what's the deal is with Coinbase?  Their price is running about $25 over bitstamp right now, which is by far the furthest I've seen them spread.  Usually they're pegged right within a dollar or two of stamp as that's where they do all their orders from (at least, that was the common assumption).  Very odd that they've been sitting between 695-700 while stamp hovers around 670-675.

Anyone know what's going on there?

They are just the middle man between the end user and the exchange, so they could be very easily just padding the price, and keeping the margins as profit...

It seems like when there is a big drop in price the spread widens on Coinbase.  Perhaps because the demand for coins goes up?  I remember last time we had a huge drop they even stopped selling coins for a while because they ran out of coins.  So perhaps now they just raise the price a bit so they can keep up with supply and demand.

Yes, I have seen this.  This could also be correct.

if you check the btc price on coinbase through bitcoinwisdom.com, it is showing a lower price than the buy price directly on coinbase.   So what I said initially about them padding the price and keeping the margin, is very probable...

Is that for me?

My mouth says that bitcoin may crash to zero without warning; and, while it is fun playing the prophet, there is no way to assign probabilities to any predictions, not even to "it will crash to zero tomorrow" or "one day it will be worth more than 1000 US$".

So my money is indeed where my mouth is -- well away from bitcoin...
For Bitcoin to crash to zero a fundamental flaw in the code would have to be found or SHA-2 broken. For the later there are backup coins with Scrypt or SHA-3. Only other way, if confirmed over-unity is archived, which would make Gold worthless too.
All are extremely unlikely.

The above is correct, bitcoin may drop again several times, and potentially more significantly many times in the future, but the likelihood of it dropping to zero is almost non-existent.

If the price at Coinbase is higher than that of other exchanges, people should flock there to sell, but no one would want to buy from them at those prices.

So Coinbase must be collecting lots of bitcoins and depleting their dollar reserves. And they cannot sell those bitcoins now without a substantial loss. This is what MtGOX was doing until a couple of days ago. (Perhaps Coinbese is trying to fill the market niche that MtGOX abandoned?  Grin)

Perhaps they believe that the prices will rebound to more than 730 soon?

Is there a general shortage of money in the other exchanges, that might be cured when the banks open today?

What is preventing arbitrage from working (buy cheap coins at other exchanges, sell them to Coinbase for 30%+ profit)?  We knew why in the case of MtGOX, but that explanation does not apply to Coinbase, does it?

They also could just be completing buy and sell orders in house with coinbase users buy and sell orders

What I don't want to happen is for it to keep shooting straight down, and then straight up to point where major companies start second guessing accepting bitcoins (or worse yet decide to stop accepting btc if they have already done so).

No, I don't dare shorting this market, save for 1-2 BTC for a few hours, just for the fun of it. I mainly bring fresh fiat to the exchange, and buy gradually in on the way down.

BTW, I find Money Flow Index and True Range to be quite useful these past days.

When it gets boring for most people, this is when I find the market most interesting.

The stuff last night and this morning was fun, but it was predictable.  Most people paying attention bought through the 500's and then sold through the 600's/700's this morning (if you're into that kinda quick profit... or else you bought through the 600's and 500's and are holding).

It was a pretty easy turnaround for those interested.  That said, now that the price has come back to earth a bit after the quick jump up to 720ish, this is when things get interesting.  These are the times when imo it becomes difficult to gauge the market and predict which direction it's going to go.  Last night was childs play (in terms of making the smart move).  This is where the men separate themselves from the boys, being able to make the correct play right about now.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure I have any insight lol

Depends. Was the downward momentum interrupted or reversed? We will need new good news to keep going up. A fix from Gox, a new app, integration with some major product or company, etc. We would need real bad news, not just FUD, to go back down. Otherwise, we'll go sideways.

And screw you it was not child's play. It's easy to say that after the fact, but my net worth was down hundreds of thousands of dollars and shrinking by thousands more by the minute and I knew I should buy MORE, but was surrounded by fear and panic. Calling it child's play is insulting. The children were running, screaming and crying. The adults were buying when they felt like selling but thought differently than they felt. That's what adults do. They act on thoughts more than feelings.

Sorry to offend you, I meant in terms of rational thought, it was in fact childs play.  You say so yourself.  The rational decision was 100% to buy.

It may take some decent sized balls to put your money where your mouth is and actually do it, but I was more strictly speaking in terms of predicting the market.  It was easy to predict whereabouts to start buying during the plunge down and that it would slingshot back up (although I'll admit I fully underestimated just how high and started selling sooner than I would have liked, I still moved a decent amount over 700).  Just as it was pretty easy to see it would shift back down to where it is now after it rebounded so quickly.

All those calls were relatively easy imo.  Having the fortitude to stick with them may be a different story, but the calls themselves were practically punching people in the face if they were paying attention.

The "this is where the men separate themselves from the boy" comment was more referring to being able to properly see where the market is likely to go now, which imo is much less clear than the fun exciting movement of the previous 20ish hours.

In terms of gutchecks and being able to put emotion aside, yeah, the fast action certainly will test that.

I don't have any special insight there. This market seems to be slower to react to things than I am in frustratingly different rates and at different times. If there is no new good news this weekend, we will possibly drift to a low that is loosely around 600 before heading back up. There's really no way of knowing without knowledge of what developments in software, politics and finance will unfold. If you sold  a little over $700, standing pat seems as good a position as any.

Yes, some good news would be good about now.   Despite the dip in prices, bitcoin has again displayed its resilience after the massive inflow of bad news over the past week.  I feel like we are going to be sitting in the mid 600s for a bit with a few flash crashes and quick recoveries.  I am still bullish long term obviously, but I think people who predicted 10k in 2014 would have to revise their predictions..

I think we may be headed back towards some slow growth, bitcoin has withstood the latest barrage of bad news/bad press, and I think we will start seeing some slow appreciation again.  I don't think it will be the meteoric rise we saw in Nov/Dec of last year, but it is a start...

you'd think there would be SOME rise in price on gox in anticipation of the btc withdrawals coming back online soon.

seems everyone has lost all hope for gox

It seems like the worry has shifted to Gox ultimately filing bankruptcy.   In that event, investors would be likely to sell all the can to get back into fiat, so that they may have a reasonable claim in court.  Since governments, and therefore the courts have not laid out specific guidelines on whether or not bitcoin is a currency, the likelihood of being able to recoup fiat from a bankruptcy is greater than the likelihood of being able to recoup btc.

What is wrong with them!!

2012 called, he wants his "bitcoin will never be a serious currency" argument back. Markets need buyers and sellers. Price discovery, liquidity, market makers, all that.

Well, what was true in 2012 is true now. Not much has changed in bitcoin structure that would make this argument obsolete.
Yes, markets needs buyers, sellers etc. It's hard to understand what you're trying to say with that. It certainly isn't a counter-argument to currency needing stability and bitcoin being unable to offer it.

I assume more buyers and sellers create a more stable price. You should have been here last year when a few hundred coin dump could take the market lower significantly. We've come a ways since then.

Always is the best time to buy when there's blood in the streets...at this point, bitcoin has too much momentum to not recover.  Recoveries may take a little longer than they used to, but it always bounces back

With Gox gone, I don't see why we won't shoot right back to $750 where we left off pre-goxacalypse.

Because people would need to place buy orders and clear off all the sell orders all the way up to that price.   The Gox failure has definitely caused some potential new (and uneducated) investors to hold off and sit on the sidelines.

I think the other reason is that even a good percentage of experienced bitcoin users are also sitting on the sidelines just waiting to see what develops because they don't want to buy into what they feel is a trap.

Your assertion does NOT make a lot of sense.

Possibly, a portion of those 800k coins have already been absorbed in the market.   And, do you really believe that the various holders of 800k of Bitcoins (who got burnt) are going to replace those coins?  Maybe 25% of them will, maybe.... but when would that happen?  in the next few weeks?

Iīm all in BTC, lets go down now like always :|

I'm about 95% in bitcoin... I had been hoping for another downswing... which does NOT seem too likely.. maybe we might get down as low as $650?  Maybe?  Seeming less and less likely, though.

I can say with almost certainty that we will see $650 again, as we are not even very far above that level now.    I am bullish long term on bitcoin for sure, but we definitely have a lot of ups and downs still ahead of us.   There will definitely still be some flash crashes in our future (even if they last only a few minutes/hours)....

We would see $650 if someone dumped off about 1500btc right now...

LTC/BTC is really surging while this temporary slow bleed on the price per BTC is going on.   It's a good time to be converting a few LTC back to BTC.  This is if you have a decent sized holding of LTC.   If not, I would suggest just continuing to hold your LTC (and BTC)

If I wasn't as much of a buy and holder as I am I would have sold on the news of gox having xxx,xxx coins left lol. People somehow associate this with a reason to dump...not to say there aren't good reasons for why you should sell.. just seems unhealthy to be so fearful.

The API did show those 200k BTC moving around a few weeks ago so it wasn't exactly breaking news that those 200k were under their control - but it is something to watch.

Consider this:

- MtGox creditors (customers) must be threated equally. This is an absolute requirement.
- The amount of fiat currency they have divided by fiat owed to their customers is X%
- The amount of BTC currency they have divided by BTC owed to their customers is Y%

This creates a problem. X not being equal to Y and the fact that X and Y creditors must be threated equal creates a problem. One solution would be to sell the 200k BTC and pay all creditors using fiat.

lol if a 200K wall pops up, i'm sorry but i'm gonna panic sell.. lol

I am long in both BTC and LTC, and haven't sold any BTC in a long long time.   If a 200k BTC sell wall comes up, I will definitely sell some and re-buy some though...

Yeah that classic happens to all of us Cheesy

You sold all of them at $550?   You should have hedged and sold half if you were looking to sell.   I guess you can just buy back in pretty much around the same prices, unless you are waiting for a more significant dip..

We are getting into capitulation land. And either we are going to start edging up again within the next couple of months or we are going to crash through support and all hell and despair is going to descend upon us.

Either way, exciting times ahead.

I think that we are really starting to see adoption on a grand scale.   Obviously we have a long ways to go, but I don't think the price yet reflects this last large wave of companies starting to accept bitcoin.   Everyday you jump on the internet, you see a new company starting to accept bitcoin.   It is simple logic that as more companies accept it, the more people will need bitcoin.

Why bother. Someone will dump to make sure we go down again. It happened like 5 times now. You'd be crazy to buy at this point.

Crazy to buy at $500?  Many people bought higher than this.  I bought some higher than this.  I think it is crazy not to buy when considering where Bitcoin will be later this year or even this month!  Also, there have been times where it seems like Bitcoin is going nowhere then shoots up to a new ATH within just a few weeks.

Calm down. I'm talking about this specific moment. As soon as we go up either someone starts dumping or Chinese fud appears. I would wait this out if i was a trader or i guess a long term buyer. We can easily go to 450 or lower again. If we break 520ish without someone stopping it i'd say it's buying time.
The current situation is pure manipulation by a small group of people if you'd ask me.

Sorry. I guess I am just getting tired of the bearishness.  Wink  I guess if someone wants to save a few bucks perhaps they can wait to buy but really now is a great time to buy in general.  I think it could shoot up at any point.  Bitcoin is known to do that.

I too think it will go up after this China bs is over.

I bought a decent amount when it was much, much lower than current prices...but I also bought a fairly large amount when it was higher.   If I dollar cost averaged my entire holdings, I would probably be a little in the red based on current prices.   Believe it or not, it is LTC that is keeping me profitable at the moment

The triangle is closing.

We have a new 3-day low.  That's not so bullish.  Unfortunate.

Im not sure what you mean by that, yesterday we visited 486 on stamp, not seen that again. BTC china is in a contracting range/wedge. The bullrun is losing momentum but the bias is not bearish.

The last 12 hours or so have seen some increases in volume..

Whether we have rumblings of significant price movements, only time will tell....

Even though I do NOT do lines, it seems that breaking above $560-ish or breaking below $450-ish would be significant regarding which way we are heading next.. Otherwise if the price bounces back and forth between $450 and $560, I am NOT going to get too excited...

While this is true, if we can get to and maintain at prices of $550 or $550+, it is definitely a huge step in the right direction.  With this last decline (where we touched down in the mid $300s), so many media outlets where crying out how this was bitcoin's demise.  A recovery to $550+ (sustainable), will make them put their feet in their mouths.

Yeah, I made a bad trade at 475 that I admitted to. Does that make the bull case stronger? Of course not. That was on me, not the market. I didn't follow my own rules in that one particular case.

But you are the one that is coming across as desperate. I don't give a flying f*** if we go up or down from here personally. I was simply asking you to make a comprehensive case. But you seem only interested in congratulating yourself on catching this wave up. Whatever.

I think you need to work on your sarcasam skills.

desperate? me? I bought at 484, remember? Im pretty comfy. Im on a roll.

so you dont like your bad trades being poked at? hmm interesting. I haven't made any promises, so I really wouldn't feel the same. if you want to come poke fun at me in a couple of days ill be here, but at this rate, Im not going to forget this either.

Ive made a comprehensive case but you wouldn't remember the details. you seem to have made up your mind.

lol. whatever. I have about 100x times more at stake on exchanges than you do. Of course I care. I can't afford to have some unreasonable market bias.

I dont want to poke fun at you. That's the point. I was just hoping you could offer more comprehensive analysis. I won't ask again.

No need to argue, I think we can all agree that we want btc to continuously rise to significantly higher levels than we are at right now. I for one don't believe that the current market price is representative of the mass adoption that we have seen over the past few months. Yes we have had a fair share of bad news out of China, and a few other countries, but the amount of money being poured into the ecosystem developing new apps and btc businesses is not yet reflected in our prices. Once more of these startups are up and running, it is simple logic that we will see a ton more daily transactions, and therefore see higher prices.

Both BTC and LTC have been relatively flat over the past few days.   Obviously this is much better than a steep decline, and stability reflects well on the entire ecosystem, but with the mass amount of adoption and new BTC business coming into the market every day, I think we are due for a re-adjustment in price levels (upwards).

No, this was just more fud and bs. Deadline passes, nothing happens, next round of fud incoming.
Why would they stop this? The idiots react the same to it every single time.

Every time this happens I picture a bunch of old chinese men sitting in front of their computers playing with their long mustaches and laughing as they put out this garbage news and simultaneously scooping up all the panic coins.

So where do you guys think are current support and resistance levels?

TA threads seem dead on this forum now Sad

800 major resistance
600 resistance
400 support
300 major support

could go lower still, but bitcoin always seems to have more upside potential, i'm still confident in time we will break over  major resistance and skys the limit again, and then ban the sky fall at 7295$ down to 1987$  then a "stable" 3K Cheesy Cheesy

I agree with your figures above.   I think it could be added that there is also major psychological resistance at 1000 levels.   We are way off from those levels now, but once we finally approach it again, I think we will have a tough time sustaining prices above there.

I would give us less than a 2% chance of an ATH in 2 weeks.  I would gladly be wrong though.   What I like about this latest surge is that it is growing incrementally, and then flattening out for a bit before going up some more.   When it shoots straight up, it usually corrects right back down a decent amount.

$20 dollar gap with BTC-E and Bitstamp.

Common you fools!

If BTC-E can stay above $600 that will be a really good sign.  BTC-E is always the quickest to correct back downward...

I think you should ask for more than that. If people buy through all the walls once, the walls will simply re-form. We need to buy through all of the walls 2-3 times for the price recovery to be permanent.

1k bid wall keeps moving up, 650 in 24hrs is likely.
650 is not likely at all. The best case scenario is the we have another long drawn out consolidation for 2-3 weeks before the next breakout.

and it'll all start when that wall gets demolished (coming soon)

I don't see $650 being likely at all either. We will struggle to stay above $600 right now IMO

Just waiting on auction now...

Yeah its a toss up on how that is gonna affect prices. It really could go either way. Or it could leave prices the same.

I wonder how that bet will be settled.  The USMS will not publish the outcome of the auctions, and other people (winners,  losers, and those who choose not to bid) may have strong motivation to lie about it, in any sense.

This info will be leaked (more than likely). I could also see winners of the auctions talking about it too (if they feel they got a good deal)

Funny btw how nobody cares anymore about the biggest event this year that completely controlled the market for 2 weeks: the price of the sold coins.
100's of posts. It was the most important thing ever. It was the only thing people talked about.
3 days later and nobody gives a shit anymore.

I think its because at the end of the day, the thing that most people care about is the price per BTC. If it would have massively changed the price (positively or negatively), then everyone would still be talking about it. The attention span for events in the crypto world is super short obv.

Happy 4th of July everyone!!

Now, if Ecuador were to establish semi – anonymous zones on it's shores . Then we might have something to talk about ...
I don't know what the "Ecuadorcoin" will be; but since it will be state-managed, it will be totally different from Auroracoin.

It will amost certainly require registration with full ID to use.  For sure the government will have access to every transaction (at least to the same extent that it has access to ordinary bank transactions), it will be able to reverse transactions in some circumstances, block and seize accounts,  etc..  Why would the government -- any government -- create a payment system without these features?

because governments want a low maintenance, highly efficient, transparent and sound money system.

BAHAHAHAHAHhahaha

Government and transparency is like an oxy moron.  They have about as much transparency as limo tint.

I think it is only a matter of time before one of the large banks (i.e. Wells Fargo, Chase, etc.), takes the jump and starts openly supporting BTC.

I know that realistically it has nothing to do with it, but everytime I go out of the country, the prices seem to rally.   We were at a low point for BTC and most of the other alts.   I left the country (and didn't really check prices), I got back and we had a really good recovery.

The last time, I left the country prices went  up a ton as well.   I guess that means I just need to take more vacations?

If we touch under $400, I am buying again.   I am very confident that this will be a missed opportunity for many people.   Look at how things progressed last year (and we are 10 times further into the development and adoption of BTC).   Many people would have given up a kidney to get BTC under $400 last November...

404. Post 8982966 (copy this link) (by keithers) (scraped on 2020-04-04_Sat_13.16h):

We have pretty much returned to "pre paypal" prices.   I still think that anywhere near $400 is a total bargain, and everyone should be adding at least a little BTC to their holdings.   As long as you can withstand possibility being down a little money over a couple of months, I think it is a no brainer.

Once there is true paypal integration and you can use it as an actual payment option within your paypal account, then we will see a real bounce in prices IMO

405. Post 8987598 (copy this link) (by keithers) (scraped on 2020-04-04_Sat_13.16h):

And just like that, we are back to the prices before the news of paypal dropped.   I am going to pick up some more coins under $400.   I cannot resist.  I can't see it staying below that mark for a very long time.   Prices are definitely not very logical.

I think we can get back to $400 within a 7 day window.   I really don't understand the reasoning behind the downward pressure we have been seeing lately.   Who has run the numbers on the cost to produce 1BTC (through mining lately)?   It has to be close to a loss right now, correct?

I now need about 9.5BTC more to get to where I want to be...

Maybe a little momentum building again?  Feels like 2013 again depending so heavily on China news for prices

I haven't sold any in a long time. I think I may sell a few if we can get back to around $1100. Will buy back more if we get into $800s

This.
Why the next pump will fall short. All the peoples that feel they missed out on the last peak will dump as soon as they can.

Been holding for a pretty decent amount of time. I hate selling coins but may need to pull some of my initial investment. Plus generally when I have sold in the past the price has gone up further each time lol. I'm not looking to dump, I'm in this for the long haul

I believe I read somewhere that Japan has something similar to to ETF that has already been approved and will be available soon?

Who bought bitcoin when it was still under 6 digits?

best I did was when they were $175

wow, pretty exciting that we have crossed the $1750 mark.  In this past month you could have pretty much made a dart board of nearly every crypto currency and thrown a dart at the one to invest in and doubled your money.

I have a side bet with a friend of mine.  I allowed him to choose the over or under for price touching 2k by the end of the month.  He took the under.

I had to let him choose because I took the over on passing $1250 when we passed the price of gold

Coinbase is like $100+ higher than most of the major exchanges right now. I feel like it's 2013 again checking the price every 5 mins. Lol

I think a pull back is definitely going to happen if it isn't already. I definitely didn't expect us to steamroll all the way up to $2900.  Massive runs are always super exciting but the faster the run up, the less sustainable it always seems to be. I hope I'm wrong though!

I easily won my bet of btc passing 2k by the beginning of March. Now I'm setting up another side bet with the same person on the over under of btc hitting 3k by the end of this month. I have to choose this time because he took the under on the last bet. I'm torn because I'm thinking the under but I would prefer to lose the bet and haveit surpass 3k by end of June

We have $3,000 in the cross hairs. I never would have thought we would be at these levels so early in 2017. To be honest I thought there wasn't a chance in hell that we would have past 2k Escow silly with the scaling civil war that was taking place before we even crossed $1200 again.

There has been so much new money going into the ecosystem. I have people at my mortgage bank who are no investing who used to laugh at the fact that I was pouring money into this for a good amount of time.

The average person is finally realizing that bitcoin isn't a ponzi scheme

Looks like we are seeing a little pull back on the rally across most coins today.  I guess that is to be expected since I'm sure a bunch of people sold off at around the $3,000 mark.

What are your thoughts if we see a flip in the king of market cap from BTC to ETH.   Correct me if I'm wrong, but since there is no hard cap on the number of Ethereum generated, it could not mean all that much?

BItcoin looks to be recovering a bit today. LTC is on a tear (for Litecoin of course). While everything has been volatile again at the end of the week zcoin has made very little headlines with its big gains.

I would like to see Bitcoin make it back to steady $2700s again...

Were any of you lucky enough to swap out some BTC to ETH during that flash crash?  I'm reading around that it briefly touched $13.   What a steal...I'm sitting in front of a computer all day at work and I can't believe I missed it.   I usually have the charts up on at least one of my windows on one of my screens while I'm doing other work.

Coinbase stopped trading pretty quickly it looks like though...

With this slight recent pull back in both bitcoin and ethereum, I expect a lot of the "new money" or casual investors who aren't used to the volatility to panic sell off the bitcoin they may have bought near $3,000 and the ethereum they bought near $400 which in the short term may push prices down a little further.

This would mean cheaper coins for the rest of the people that are still here for the long haul.

What are your guys thoughts on this latest ICO Tezos?  Do you think it has had any effect on the recent prices of bitcoin or ether?   I have definitely noticed as the prices of Ethereum has dropped, the number of Ethereum contributed has definitely skyrocketed.

On the other hand, as prices of BTC have remained a little flat, the amount of bitcoin contributed to Tezos has slowed down significantly.

So is one of the scaling options being implemented into the code today? Just checked prices for the first time today and have to say that I was more than pleasantly surprised!  To be honest I was expecting to have to ride out a potentially large dip through August.

Mmmm, so overall you have aroud 6 million dollars in btc i think

Don't envy him. He was smart to HODL.

You should HODL too, and not sell when it reaches a ATH.

I dont envy him, it motivate me.

So awesome!  Hoping $3,000 can become our new floor. I think it was a psychological resistance point where a lot of people would sell. Let's keep this green candle growing.

Hopefully we can keep this momentum going. Run ups like this usually are followed by quick corrections, but I'm just hoping we can mantain a new floor of $3,000+. That would be great

Why so much resistance to get to 3500 USD? It's only an arbitrary number.

I don't know this either. It wouldn't seem like $3500 is that large of a psychological resistance point either. I'm going to bed tonight hoping to see $3500+ when I wake up in the morning.

I know if I sold one it would shoot up past $3500. Lol.

I rarely sell any ever but every time I have, I think the price has doubled within two weeks.
