I sold at 550 expecting to buy at 350...i had to buy at 735 USD...I know i should be happy, but i feel like stupid panic selling at 550...i found out that everybody has some certain selling price...i bought at 90USD/1 BTC so of course i was easy hodling when the price went from 1200 to 800...but then was 700, 600, 580, 560, 550, bum..panic sold...i think many guys here are really calm holding bulls because they bought under 10 USD...so it is little bit more easy to hodl i think...But i learned now this about bitcoin the hard way and true is, i am not selling even when it would start falling to...so to all bears, you should buy right now and just shut the fuck up already, we are heading to 10,000 with or without you

no seriously, it all depends on your strategy, if you are a long term investor then it really doesn't matter at what price you will buy, Bitcoin has proven that constant growth over time, if you are a trader and want to catch a dip to make a stronger position then welcome to the gambling club

You are playing safe, which is commendable, but if you are long-term, a big gamble. The news recently has been huge and Bitcoin is spreading throughout the world like wildfire. You are passing on the chance to ride it up because of a possibility to catch a dip caused by something that might not ever happen.

The whole China thing should be in the past.

It won't get banned any time soon over there but if it does Bitcoin has easily got room to grow ten times bigger in the US alone this year.

But we're not even talking about a ban - it's about more restrictions with money flow - and still people are running for the hills. If you panic with the sheep you are just wasting time and delaying the inevitable... and taking a real risk that you'll sell at the wrong moment and buy back more expensive.

I've moved to a pure SODL strategy, since we're clearly heading to zero.

Just as the Chinese government has recently warned citizens of the dangers of bitcoin, I am warning citizens of bitcointalk of the dangers of bitcoins, to help as many people as possible.  Only Satoshi and maybe 2 or 3 other people will make any money from bitcoin.  Everyone else will lose money, and probably destroy their life, as the Chinese government has explained.

What if Huobi is just a large mixer? Offering zero fees would make sense to me. Lot of volume guaranteed.

BTC China's rapid decline is obviously down to the payment processing thing but also the fees play a huge factor. Volume is inevitably going to explode with a zero fee exchange. It would be the same regardless of where it was located in the world.

That, plus anyone knows how much coinbase/bitpay charge merchants to process btc? If it's lower than 3%? credit cards charge merchants will embrace it with both hands as it bumps up their profit margins. Once wall st sees that there's $ to be made and wider adoption they won't sit on side lines.

There's still that possibility. As far the chances of that happening is the current game. In a catastrophic even China would close Huobi and confiscating all the BTC holding, that surely would crash the whole market. Personally i think chances of that ever happening are moderately low (and partially already priced in). Chances of Chinese cracking down on the very first day the new law goes into effect are slim to none. So 31st/1st should be a good day. This weekend shouldn't be bad either.

I think itŽs even more likely that Mt.Gox is closing itŽs shop before the Chinese might get (partially) shutdown. Is that also already priced in?
In the last days we head nothing than overall positive news, that would easily have justified a runup to 2-3000$. Still nothing happened.
What we donŽt know is how the market  will react to BAD News. It looks like TA is just waiting for an official confirmation to justify

Deposits at btcchina aren't adding anything new. Chinese already had the ability to deposit via Huobi. Most likely almost nobody deposits to btcchina because the liquidity (volume) is at huobi now.

looking at the past corrections of late 2013 and so on, we've become a lot less fear mongering during these uncertain times, not as many coins are being dumped at ludicrous speeds.

I really hope that the recent peak of bitcoin days destroyed is more or less a testament to the fact old coins are going to new strong hands, I mean I know I can't quantify the numbers of who bought for hodling, or day trading but the trend imo seems to be that the market is soaking up coins at the cheapest prices, and people aren't going to choo choo till we eat all the coins being brought in strictly to be sold.

Also every bear and there brother have waited for the dip and I am sure won't give up their short positions till a strong recovery wave begins, I still think that that could be as soon as valentines day. We've only made it easier for more people to join this revolution.

I agree.  I also think that people with the least amount of coins are the ones watching the charts the most.   They are also the first to be claiming the sky is falling, and how everyone needs to get out before it is too late.

Why is Gox price so low? Because you can't withdraw coins!

Why is stamp so high when you even can't withdraw coins?  

But you can withdraw fiat so the price should be even lower.

The only useful answer so far:

A few possibilies:
1. Someone creating FUD to buy cheap coins (probably scammed mtgox first)
2. Banks/NSA try to damage bitcoin (but why would they start with mtgox related txs?)
3. A competitor like Ripple, Nxt or Ethereum
4. Mtgox trying to make it look like a general problem (but I highly doubt that)

You need a lot of well connected nodes to be faster than mgox, btc-e, bistamp, coinbase...

It clearly started the minute people reported that Stamp issue.
These sellers don't even read or think anymore. Just 1 word that sounds negative and they completely start to panic.
And after the panic turns out to be nothing there's no buying back. We're just lower than before and the idiots are waiting for the next sign to panic.

I sold at ~$580, assuming I get to buy in at $130 thats 4.46x my investment. In other words: mtgox must have lost 75% > of their BTC for me to lose. Not a bad bet. I don't believe the accusations that they are running fractional reserve in the first place, so I'm obviously hoping that I will be able to withdraw all.

It is extremely bullish that the 2 ask walls on Stamp @622$ has not induced to go south 610$. The buying pressure is there, we are running out of whales willing to sell at these prices... 650$ seems very easy to reach within a week.
