Well, I aim for 3% increase in BTC volume per day, so since I have just bought the BTC at $112.5, it's not worth cutting my losses at $110, as it will take longer to recover them.
Anyway, the downward trend seems to have lost momentum, and is turning back upwards.
I'm trying to make my initial buy-in of 6.2 bitcoins* into enough to quit work - I'm at 16.7 now, after 2.5 weeks, so eventually I will manage it - if only I can purchase and sell at the right time for once.
I'd rather take my time, and tread carefully. I have slipped back too many times this week (I had 22.5 BTC at one point, then held cash due to a badly timed sell, as it shot up on the 3rd while I was asleep. I tried to recover by buying in late, just as it peaked again - I lost about $500 that day)
The thing is, I have very limited resources, and I really don't think it will drop much below $110 again any time soon, so I'd rather not risk it.
* I bought those (literally) 15 minutes before it plunged from $250....

I'm getting super impatient. This pretty much sums up the market at the moment. Everyone thinks they will be able to get cheaper coins... but the longer they wait, the less likely that becomes. Once the bids exceed the all time high (not far off), I can see a massive spell of panic buying ensuing.
I was thinking the same thing. I see too many people waiting to buy lower and just can't stop thinking.. what if they won't be able to do so.
But also, when so many people think the same, a new low might happen.

They won't liquidate the coins on an exchange. They will be sold auction-style. Shouldn't impact exchanges too much, unless the buyer decides to move the coins to an exchange.
For sure, not over the exchange and by auction.....But they will need to find people to bid for these 144k coins and given the size, they will be happy to give them away at a discount. These coins will eventually hit the exchange and will influence the price then....
I would be not very confident in holding large amount of coins these days...

Transactions aren't faster at all, transactions are the same speed. The confirmations happen every 2.5 minutes vs BTC's 10 minute. But this does not make it faster. 1 confirmation on the btc network is worth alot more than 3 confirmations on the ltc network.

They did not have a cold wallet, it was one huge hot wallet, implemented by MT.
Occasionally it lost (or failed to store correctly or deleted¹) private keys of its own change outputs ('not "lost" just yet, just temporarily unavailable')
He seems to believe the keys are still there somewhere buried deeply somewhere in his database server ('We haven't given up')

I wonder if we are we headed for a retest of the descending wedge? It is going to take a lot more than a 400 BTC dump to get to $605... The breakout we had from the wedge is not exactly looking strong either.
I'm thinking we might play the same pattern again and form a new descending wedge.

Anyone noticed there is actualy no real volume during this drop? I expected fireworks on stamp when crossing the 330$ mark (stop loss)... Same on finex? In past there was 4k+ btc traded in 15min.
