Well, Rick is off jet-setting around the globe, somewhere, to attend some fancy event, and I'm left home alone this weekend.

Thinking of consuming 7mg of dried mushrooms and talking to Jah and The Flying Spaghetti Monster tonight.

What could possibly go wrong ?

Go out eating something with a fellow coiner, that what me and my GF are doing this evening Smiley

7 milligrams? That won't do anything. I like to indulge now and then with about 0.25g dried. Anything less and I can't feel it.

Sheeit. I did type out mg. I meant g. Error on my part.

You are absolutely correct that 7mg is a minuscule dose, unlikely to have any effect.

Either way, decided to heed the warning, and will wait for Rick to return, so I'll be supervised when dosing.

You need better shrooms.

Top strains like Hawaiian Gold Caps or the legendary Witchmakers will pretty much OD even experienced users with anything over a couple of grams and beginners are recommended to stay below half a gram.

I know people who used to take about a twentieth of a gram of the Witchmakers and get a nice buzz, not a transcendental psychedelic experience but a pleasant energetic awareness that lasts for hours.

A single gram should provide a solid but not too overwhelming trip.

The best mushrooms can bring you to this, in Friday ... But you do not need it.

Exactly, as I predicted earlier $6-6.5 in Summer, $10-15k Fall and new ATH in December 2019.

I don't expect a new high until well into 2021 myself. And when it does hit it's going to be pretty electrifying. Regaining $1000 was the culmination of a seemingly endless slog. It was more relief than euphoria. Next time around there'll be more appetite and more expectation.

My predictions -

End of 2019 - $6,500 - $7,500
Price by the halving (May 2020) - $9,000 - $10,000 ish
New ATH - Some time in 2021

Partially agree..
look at this chart

Sourse: Chart
The purpose of this analysis is to provide insight on bitcoin holder patterns to improve our educated guess on the timing of the price bottom. We don’t believe this analysis should function as an indicator on its own, but rather that it be used in combination with other relevant data to make the most informed decision possible. We’ve established that selling pressure from long term holders is significantly tapped, and accumulation has begun. Using the timing of previous price bottoms relative to different bitcoin accumulation points, we can use current UTXO dynamics to forecast a rough date for a price bottom. We specifically tracked the price bottom relative to the 6-12M holding peak1, the forecasted UTXO 1 year+ holding peak2, the existing UTXO 1 year+ holding bottom3, and the forecasted slowdown point of the 1 Year+ UTXO growth rate4. This results in a cluster of dates that indicate a bottom in Q1 2019(5)

Very Very sad because I am from Bangladesh bitcoin illegal but I Love Bitcoin  Cheesy

On December 24, 2017, the Central Bank of Bangladesh issued a cautionary notice that
cryptocurrencies are illegal in Bangladesh. According to a news report, the notice states that
“[t]ransaction [sic] with this currency may cause a violation of the existing money laundering and
terrorist financing regulations.” The notice states that bitcoin transactions “are not authorized
by the Bangladesh Bank or any regulatory agencies, and do not conform with the provisions under
the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act, 1947; Anti-Terrorism Act, 2009; and the Money
Laundering Prevention Act, 2012.” Also, according to the notice,
may cause a violation of the above-mentioned acts. . . . .[T]ransactions through online
networks involving cryptocurrency are not approved by any central payment system and
as such people can be financially harmed and may face legal consequences.
Under the circumstances, the citizens have been asked to refrain from performing,
assisting, and advertising all kind of transactions through virtual currencies like Bitcoin to
avoid financial and legal damages.
Law enforcement agencies, including the Foreign Exchange Police Department, Bangladesh
Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU), and Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission
(BTRC), have reportedly already held four meetings on “hunting down those
using cryptocurrencies.”

CoinGeek Sponsors Ayr United Football Club

As per the Reuters report on Thursday, Bitcoin SV will sponsor Ayr United for the rest of the current season, as well as the whole of the next season. Founder of CoinGeek, and well known Bitcoin SV advocate Calvin Ayre said this was part of a move to educate people about the ‘original Bitcoin’:

“There is an education underway explaining to both the media and everyday folk that BSV is, in fact, the original Bitcoin. People have heard of Bitcoin but don’t yet understand that BSV is the only blockchain following Bitcoin’s original design.”

India
The government of India stated in early 2018 that cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin are not legal
tender in India. While the government has not yet enacted a regulatory framework for
cryptocurrencies, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has advised caution on their use and has
issued three notifications that “cautioned users, holders and traders on the risk of these
currencies and clarified that it has not given any licence or authorisation to any entity or company
to operate such schemes or deals.”
Most recently, on April 6, 2018, the RBI issued a notification prohibiting banks, lenders and other
regulated financial institutions from “dealing with virtual currencies,” which stipulated that “n
view of the associated risks, it has been decided that, with immediate effect, entities regulated by
the Reserve Bank shall not deal in VCs or provide services for facilitating any person or entity in
dealing with or settling VCs. Such services include maintaining accounts, registering, trading,
settling, clearing, giving loans against virtual tokens, accepting them as collateral, opening
accounts of exchanges dealing with them and transfer / receipt of money in accounts relating to
purchase/ sale of VCs.” Moreover, the RBI stated that “[r]egulated entities which already
provide such services shall exit the relationship within three months from the date of this
circular.” However, Deputy Governor B.P. Kanungo, in a policy press conference, did
“recognize that the blockchain technology or the distributed ledger technology that lies beneath
the virtual currencies has potential benefits for financial inclusion and enhancing the efficiency of
the financial system” and stated that the RBI has “constituted an inter-departmental committee in
Reserve Bank of India who will produce a report and they will explore the feasibility and
desirability of issuing a digital currency by the central bank.

Not only just strong hand, it is the perfect time to bag bitcoin.

After this short correction, maybe it will resume up towards resistance of bitcoin price and probably fueling into skyrocket. #HODL & BUY.

BTC/USD, 4-Hour Chart

While Bitcoin fell below its recent swing high, triggering a short-term sell signal yesterday, the coin managed to hold up above the $5050 support, leaving the hope for another higher alive. That said, given the broad weakness in the market and the weak post-crash bounce, traders shouldn’t enter new positions here, especially in light of the still bearish long-term setup.

The $5400 level remains the line-in-the-sand resistance regarding the short-term outlook, while a dip below the initial support zone would likely open up the way towards $4850 and $4450. Further support zones are found near $4200 and between $4000 and $4050, while above $5400 the next resistance zone is ahead near $5850.

Bitcoin Cash (BCH) Mining Dominated by ‘Satoshi Nakamoto’

Around a week ago an unknown miner calling themselves Satoshi Nakamoto began hogging more than 35% of the BCH hashrate. By Monday morning their mining dominance on the Bitcoin Cash blockchain peaked as high as 44%. When a miner acquires 51% of a blockchain’s hashrate, they can launch double-spend attacks – essentially stealing Bitcoin Cash coins.

This unknown miner originally appeared a week ago under the name ‘BoomBoomBoom’, as detailed in this reddit post. There’s no way to prove that ‘BoomBoomBoom’ and ‘Satoshi Nakamoto’ are one and the same, however one disappeared when the other appeared, and the likelihood of two unknown miners suddenly hogging the hashrate within days of each other seems unlikely.

Bitcoin remains bullish as long as it stays above $4,800. Given that Bitcoin just broke out of $5,500 resistance, the initial target is $6,200. A move above $6,200 will likely generate massive bullish momentum that can ignite a true disbelief rally and push Bitcoin to as high as $7,800.

If you’re leaning on the bearish side, we urge you to carefully consider your position.

Wow, that is some really impressive strong hands. Did he buy them all at once or has he been adding to that address all these years?

If he bought them all at the same time in 2011 he might be dead or have lost access to those coins. Seems weird you wouldn’t sell a massive amount at even $500.

I’m going to go & look into that address at more detail Smiley

Edit - he’s been buying tiny, tiny amounts regularly over the years but the absolute bulk of it was in that one big buy in 2011.

We are a society standing by passively as we become slaves to a system that is out to divide and exploit us. It is time that we realize that we may not be able to change the world into our liking until we understand that we must do it ourselves. The grubby politicians are not going to do it for us. They are captured by the system.

This is why I Bitcoin, freaks. It presents an opportunity to opt into a system completely separated from the corrupt system we currently live under. It swings a bit of leverage back to the individual who has felt helpless as he has watched the encroachment of an evil system creep further and further into his everyday life. Attempting to insert itself into every action and transaction on Earth.

Bitcoin is certainly not a panacea, but it is a step in the right direction. And if the US government is willing to rip a man out of a foreign embassy for a bit of old fashioned journalism (miss me with describing these actions as anything other than journalism, the act of bringing truth to light), we Bitcoiners better believe we won't be subject to similar treatment in the future. As we can see, the State does not like when you call out its wrongdoings or attempt to curb its power. Money is at the root of their power and we would be naive to believe they won't be threatened by Bitcoin too.

All the more reason to stop being complacent and act. Seize your sovereignty, educate people about the tools they can use to do the same, and hopefully, through action, we'll be able to get to a point where attacks on our liberties from the State are ephemeral. If we do not act, we may never be truly free.

Complacency kills. Wake the fuck up.

I would agree with that premise, of longer waves, but not to that extent. Looking at the whole long term chart, I estimate the peak-to-peaks of 2011-2013 and 2013-2017 being 30 months and 48 months respectively. That would indicate the next p-to-p be roughly 66 months ie 2017-2023 (June).

Its a long wait, but not considering the enormous amount of price work to be done:  the next peak could be upwards of 80k

Bitcoin halve every 4 years. So cycle cant prolong. I mean of course one will be shorter then other, but they will not prolong with every next cycle. What will happen is that impact of halving will be weaker with every halving. If last time price went from $1200 to $20000 this time will not go 20000/1200=16.6 times up, but less.

You did not consider 1 moment! These are Hodlers, on which the price of bitcoin is VERY heavily dependent! Even stronger than any halving ...

On the bright side of things we need to get a small number of 25-30ish percent corrections under our belt as we march to 100k, so if we get the first one here then that is some serious progress. Really looking forward to the crash from 25k to 17.5k Cheesy

25-30% from 7400 is around 5000.

There may be some good support at 6k, but if that fails then 5k is a good level to build from. Time is in some ways more important than price.  Support levels are created through trade and time spent at a particular level.

I am hopeful that 6k will hold, but 5k would not be so bad. Although I don't trade, I would think it prudent for those who took profits at ~7300 to buy at least half back when it gets to 6300.

I also think, rollback to 6400, then the assault of the level of 8200 and 10 000.

Watch $8600. If you follow PnF the point and figure charts say we could go parabolic to $50K+ if we get a weekly close above $8600 on Bitstamp.
The market bulls are eyeing the next major target area, between $8000-8500, the July 2018 high region. Should there be enough buying interest to take the price back through the noted barrier, then there could be a fast return to $10,000.

One problem with these analysis based on previous cycles is that they dont consider social and political impact, like the trade war between US and China, and sanctions against Russia and Iran, for example.

Thats probably the reason why this cycle started earlier, and will go much higher than what the bears who talk about "diminishing returns" are predicting.

Russia flat out stated they would be buying billions in bitcoin in the spring due to the sanctions and its likely they did.

I'd rather go on what Russia did previously more then anything they say they will do or reports on that.    Russia and China have both have a very strong policy towards replacing foreign reserves with gold, they sell currency in favour of owning more gold.  They import, they produce and there is no export, they are net buyers.   They did that this year, last year, the year before and all the way back for over a decade.    World wide central banks have been net buyers of gold, its a really simple theme but its physical ownership rather then token ownership via various FIAT standards or trade agreements that might have existed previously.
I dont know exactly what they plan to do with it exactly and Russia is already massively biased to commodity prices for its GDP but I'd say there is no doubt sanctions or not they intend to use gold over any other type of fungible currency.   Ten years is a very long period for an active policy vs any recent news of various other initiatives

Russia is one of the richest countries in the world for resources extracted from the earth! But in terms of life (with its potential), one of the poorest! In many countries, mining will be distributed at the state level (that is, the people), in Russia, it does not belong to the people! Officials in chocolate, people in shit ...

I have my first one soon (was scheduled to have already had, but had to postpone it) so bad is the taste?
Btw, any idea how many hours do I have to leave without ingesting alcohol before the test?

- Saltiest tasting stuff ever. It's truly awful. My advice is to prepare the mix, and put it in the freezer an hour before you are due to start the prep
- The cold will mitigate the terrible taste
- Make sure you try to avoid your tongue entirely. A straw helps.
- They suggest two rounds of prep - usually six hours apart - This can be extremely difficult to "chug down", along with 32 ounces of water, within an hour.
-- To mitigate above, it's possible to just prep from noon to 9pm the prior day. Do nothing but chug down the two bottles of prep, and 64 ounces of water across the entire day

*** No alcohol recommended AT LEAST 24 hours before procedure, but I'd stay dry for 48 hours to be extra safe.

Oh, also, I recommend avoiding popcorn for three weeks prior to your procedure. That stuff sticks to your inner-tubing like you would not believe. I have the scope shots to prove it !!!
I had a colonoscopy about 2 years ago, I literally poured mine into a shot glass and shot it over and over.

Dude my asshole was so fucking raw after all that and I was soooo hungry.

(I'll let you fuckers know why too because I am young, I had just had my kiddo and anxiety and me are not friends, I don't know if thats what it was or I caught something at the hospital but I lost 25 pounds in a couple of weeks and couldn't eat  for shit and stop shitting non stop, shit was no fun, I am also still paying on the damn procedure)

This extended pause and consolidation seems to be very bullish for BTC. I expect the BTC price to come back down significantly one more time to less than $7150 before the end of the month, and possibly $6900 within the next 3 days which should bring the long/short ratio down to an acceptable 1.15 (or below) so bull move can blast off to $10,000+:

It’s possible to come down to the lower trendline support on my chart above at ~$6100, but that seems MUCH less likely. Anything lower than that before moving higher seems very, very unlikely, but anything is possible.

A trader losing 100% of the times is precious as much as one hitting right 100% of the times.
You just need a friend taking a position opposite your view, but triple the size.

I doubt that the problem is a matter of doubling down, coincidence or whatever.

Something seems quite wrong and unsustainable if you are losing 100% of the time with 5 bets, and you just begun to engage in the activity.

Likely the better strategy is to quit for a while and reassess the prudence of your approach.

"Facebook held talks with Winklevoss twins over new currency"

EDIT:
Gemini was founded by internet entrepreneurs Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss – the same twins who sued Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in 2004 for allegedly stealing their social networking idea. They received a $65 million settlement and poured a huge chunk of that into bitcoin.

As FT reports, the Winklevoss backstory makes Gemini an unlikely partner of Facebook. Still, the social media giant will need all the help it can get navigating the complex regulatory challenges associated with launching its own currency.

The two exchanges aren’t the first companies Facebook has approached with its crypto endeavors. Mark Zuckerberg’s company is reportedly seeking to raise $1 billion for the new project and has already spoken with Visa and MasterCard about a potential partnership.

We are in reverse, bears had that low 6s dip and now it's gone higher than previously. They'll dip again but it won't reach previous lows and we will run higher than 8900.

Bitcoin NVT Signal

How it works
Quote
What is NVT Signal?
Standard NVT Ratio is simply the Network Valuation divided by the Transaction Value flowing through the blockchain and then smoothed using a moving average. What Dimitry did was to apply the moving average just to the volatile Transactions component only without smoothing the already stable Network Valuation component.

This produces a much more responsive chart. Responsive enough to use as a trading indicator.

This is probably the first trading indicator to use blockchain data instead of the basic price and volume data coming in from exchanges.

As the signal shows, we can expect a deeper correction.

Last night's price hoik was fun, but are we really not going to have an ugly correction. I can't trust it at the moment, which is probably exactly what they want.

I feel there may be an ugly correction to $6,xxx but even if there is, would it really be a huge problem?
Sure it’d be a shock but we’re on track to get to where we want to be plus I have a round number target in my head of how many coins I want before it goes parabolic.

There are positives & negatives to every price swing. Let’s just enjoy the ride because we will see six figures per coin during this cycle, I’m certain of it.

On average, every year so far, the value of Bitcoin has increased by about a factor ten. From 0.1 dollar in 2010, to 1 dollar in 2011, to 10 dollar in 2012, to 100 dollar in 2013. From now on, there's a slight slowdown, as the value increased by a factor ten every two years, to 1,000 dollar in 2015, to 10,000 in 2017, 100,000 in 2019, and 1,000,000 in 2021. From here onwards, there's no good way of expressing its value in dollars, as the dollar is no longer used, nor is any central bank issued currency for that matter. There are two main forms of wealth in today's world. Land and cryptocurrency.

But just three hours later, the same amount of BTC was sent from Coinbase to three unknown wallets, leaving traders wondering why the Bitcoin was moved in the first place.

There are over 38 known clusters of these meteor showers..that we know of today. Combined with NEO's and comet's, these are what cause me worry from time to time.

Small rocks are harmless, they burn in the atmosphere. Meteor showers are pretty, and cause zero damage.

Big rocks are rare, and unlikely to hit Earth.
Even if/when is happens, they might miss highly populated areas and not cause a lot of damage anyway.

Really big rocks are all discovered, counted etc. No worries here. None of them on the collision course.

Nothing threatens us as long as they are alive.

You have the official announce. Do you want us to somehow say if they are simply lying?

Probably true?

Anyway, they say that by then they will be serving US customers from another licensed business.

Irrelevant I would say.

Sorry for quoting Roach but it seems he's trying to follow his idol's advice:

So this is clearly the reason he keeps repeating it all the time.  Grin

Weekly resistance is around 9600, above that not much until 11k.
Though i personally believe 10k will be a big psycological hurdle.

5 digits zone, 50+% from ath etc pp.

I really wouldn’t mind going sideways for a significant period now. I’m a bit uncomfortable with massive increases in price over a short time because it usually ends up ending badly.

Consolidation & low volatility for a few months now would be most welcome imo.

This will happen! But when?

After June 20, I will do Bitcoin tattoo! WO Give me a couple of sketches for analysis!

I’m covered in tattoos & I’ll definitely get a bitcoin one but only when I’ve sold a significant amount that my life is changed by bitcoin.

I have significant gains from bitcoin (more than I ever dreamed of) but they’re unrealised gains - Meaning until you sell nothing has changed.

Any way, regarding your tattoo, how about just a bitcoin logo, simple & effective?

I still consider 2 parts of the arm, this is the shoulder and the back of the forearm! I would find a sketch .....
