Localbitcoins b& in russian federation...

http://www.coinfox.info/news/6399-localbitcoins-blocked-in-russia

 Undecided
Nothing special & new here. Russian citizens don't care about bans like this. On contrary, it will probably make Localbitcoins even more popular in Russia.

Is there a possibility of this prediction to come true?

I used to be a big proponent of gold and silver but I don't see them going to those valuations.
Crypto currencies are the future.
Unless we will see another exchange hack or some other shit news will cause bitcoin price to go down by 50%.
With gold or silver you don't have to worry that gold exchange could be hacked.

Nothing to get exited about. 777 is more of a winning number for Slots that something really important for Bitcoin.

Not really, we will go to ATH (around $1200) with no real resistance and then we go exponential for a relatively short time before the crash - like it always happened. I've witnessed this shit three times already Cheesy

Probably the big rally will not be as exponential and short-lived as in Dec 2013, Apr. 2013 and June 2011 (when price started doubling every week) because the coin is getting mature and the market getting bigger, much more money is needed for the price to double - but its still a very small market which is very prone to big rallies and big crashes.
The question is: is the market mature and big enough to sustain not only rapid pumping but longer periods with bitcoin price over$800?
I don't think we are ready yet, not in 2016.

the trick is the $ retirement accounts are best used to invest in the stock market. basic intelligent investing will have a better return (3-7%) than the rate of inflation (2-3%)

Pension funds are fubarred. They have liabilities they cannot cover. With bond yields at historical lows, they are struggling to meet their promises of a fixed return. Furthermore, this struggle is forcing them into riskier securities, such as stocks and repackaged junk debt. What happens when the next recession hits, or, as is more probable, the next crash? These purported stalwarts of financial responsibility are going to come crashing down themselves, like the twilight of the gods, taking their hapless investors with them.

spain just reported that its social security will be unfunded within a year, 2 billion in deficit. This is after having a 65bn surplus in 2011.

I also don't expect to have retirement money there when I retire.

For me bitcoin is a store of value outside of govt control. Not that much invested but enough to do well if it does well.
This problem is more and more apparent in different European countries. Their national retirement programs are proven to be inefficient because society is getting older.
After couple years there won't be enough of young working people who will be able to contribute money to fuel this broken retirement system.
I hope that this future crisis will only strengthen Bitcoin popularity.

Ok admit it guys.... $1000 is boring. None of us are gonna be rich with $1000/btc.... that is not moon! What happened to the good old 10X to 50X rises in price? Those were the real bitcoin rallys! Now everyone is getting excited about a 5% move lol....

$10K/btc or bust.... even $5K/btc and I may consider quitting my job.... until then we will continue being corporate slaves at $1000/btc
I can agree with you that $1000 rally is not that exiting when we are so close.
But at the same time it is not exactly 5% rise we are talking about here, bitcoin price rose in second half of 2016 more than 60% this 5% rise only happened recently.

So, remind me again how many Bitcoins Satoshi is supposed to have mined/owns?
Satoshi is believed to own about 7.5% of the entire bitcoin inventory, it is roughly 1/13 of all coins.

Now is price of bitcoin is down to $839. I don't know why people panic due to what happened in China cos the samething happened back in the year 2012 and the Chinese government are doing this to save their currency
It is hard to believe that Chinese government thinks that Bitcoin can be real threat to yuan at this point. Bitcoin is not even used by 10 millions of people worldwide, not to mention Chinese citizens.
I don't know every time we have pump and later dump, people are seeking second bottom and hidden reason for price decline, while in reality it is market correction.

Japan's taking over as a volume leader. Today its top exchange has 7922 BTC volume, but coincheck isn't even on bitcoinity.

24h Volume
7922.5185 BTC

^of course ~ Mark Kerpeles is free!!!  Cool

Bitcoinity still has an MtGox chart page up. Maybe they've kept it open in case Mark Kerpeles starts MtGox up again.

https://bitcoinity.org/markets/mtgox/JPY
Or it is Mark Karpeles who is originator and ringleader behind Bitcoinity. Do we have full info about people behind Bitcoinity?
They could keep keep MGox charts on because, whatever you can say, it is historic data.

test - I think that Bitcointalk's database is having problems currently, as some of my previous posting attempts were unregistered and generated error.

Alt coins coming back down and bitcoin price increasing, what a surprise.
isn't this always the case? People are usually sell altcoins to gather money for purchasing bitcoin.
It is standard cue whenever we may expect another bull run.

Call me crazy or dumb...but I am starting to have a desire of shorting BTC at these levels...

Short that ETH shitcoin instead..
Good advice, better short ETH, LTC. People who said that this price is good enough to dump are shortsighted.
Bitcoin will reach $2500 this year with ease. Scaling solution is coming, selling BTC now before it will go live is plain stupidity.
Remember what happened to Litecoin after SegWit was activated - with bitcoin it will be even better show.

i was offline since the last dump, when i bought some at 2260 EURO and now that i am back i check we are only 45 euro up from that...
pretty boring.. why we not pass 3000 euros already? why those dumps?
Because reasons. Investors are scared that bitcoin gained to much potential too fast and price might be a bubble.
It is always a problem when bitcoin needs to reach another ATH. But don't worry we are destined to reach €3000 this year.
Just wait for the USAF to complete and bitcoin value will skyrocket again.
