new bubble really comming

charts work until they don't

if we have a bubble it will be another event that drives it, cyprus, china, something similar but would have to be bigger.

I just don't see anything that big on the horizon for the next 18 months. Need a catalyst if you want your bubble trends to keep on keeping on.

18 months.

Really, where do you people get all these numbers from. How can you possibly predict what will happen or not in the next 18 months. I never get these kind of posts.
That's why it's called speculation and no future telling.

Profits must be compared against buying and holding BTC instead.  He invested more than 9 BTC into his mining operation, and came out with 9 BTC afterward.  Sure, BTC went up during that time.  But that profit has nothing to do with the mining itself.  Mining was a net loss.  He only came out ahead because BTC went up.  He'd have come out even more ahead without the mining venture.

Oh yep, my bad i counted it as investment with dolars with bitcoin output...i don't even know why i did that as we are on bitcoin forums lol.

When we go from 640 to 630 it's called going down. Not sure why that's so difficult for you.

You could also say the same when the price goes from 634 to 633. I don't see the point in fretting about fluctuations that entirely fit into the normal intraday price range for BTC.
That's true, but these are the daytraders people. I'd call it going down if there would be more than 15-20$ value down for more than 3 hours. Or even better, at the end of the day.

What if BTC stabilises here?

I'm just getting the feeling recently that all the Bull/Bear nonsense is based on the belief that BTC is a speculative instrument (or still in the speculative phase) and that may not be true.

Take Dell for instance and personalise it for understanding. Michael Dell is already rich beyond the dreams of Croesus - he's not taking BTC because he needs the money/fiat/crypto and he doesn't need to hodl to achieve some future dream of luxury.  It's an optional transactional medium for him to continue to accrue wealth - that is all.

As it gets easier to obtain, and easier to disburse the price is going to settle down as a matter of course. BTC has already become a global currency (it happened while we were not sleeping) and after all the excitement about China - and then then the come-down - we're all still holding coin with the most amazing utility.

That's what Big Trade is buying into - the utility, not the speculative opportunity, so I'm not expecting another "launch".  I'll be very surprised if we see $1000 again - there's no good reason for it at the transactional level.

There is NOT a large enough market cap to achieve multi-million dollar (or even billion dollar) transactions without causing some volatility; accordingly, the market cap has to increase in order to make bitcoin practical for these purposes.  Accordingly, since bitcoins have a limited supply and a limited production rate, the ONLY way to accomplish sufficient meaningful market cap is for BTC prices to go up (probably at least 100 times today's current prices).

In Sum, it is inevitable that BTC prices will go up, if it is going to serve large and/or institutional financial uses.
Consider the lost/forgotten/lost private keys coins also!

A pull back to $sub-240 is not only plausible but also healthy. I think we will test $240 today.

Sorry but there is nothing healthy in falling price, especially in bitcoin world where price is vital for its expansion. Only healthy thing would be stable growth, not volatile prices like now but ofcourse that would be not fun so nobody is interested (except people who are actually doing something useful for bitcoin economy).
Prise rise should happen after vital steps not prior them.

BUY people fucking BUY.

Don't end up being a bitter beartard / troll that gets left behind.
If huobi will break the 300+ then it's REALLY time to buy!

There's already been a US Based exchange that complies with US Regulations.  On Feb 5th it will have been opened for a Year now!

Yeah, Kraken too.

Thought Kraken was British and not in the US.
Kraken isn't US. Also that atomic trade looks like altcoin exchange and news stand in one.

Just a reminder of what this big bulltrap we had lately was:

I'm gonna spell it out for you guys:

Coinbase news was a pump&dump, exactly like the LTC on Huobi pump and all the other countless attempts to dump higher!
Insiders buy before anyone knows anything, all the other people buy at the announcement and at the countdown. Smart traders dump as soon as the site is online!

It's not difficult to understand! It's always the same thing.

Good thing coinbase is bringing regulation to BTC right? LOOOOOOOOL

The crash has officially resumed.
You're welcome.

It was just correction and it didn't even fall back to 245 but it stopped at 265.

Good news for bitcoin, like always...

Smiley

You mean more sell? So, what's the new goal? Maybe $200 again?
More selling? They have to buy in first Wink

ONLY for donations? Wouldn't that mean that it will be converted into fiat and thus sold?

Economists have know for 500 years that a currency must have some inflation, otherwise people will hoard it and it will not be available for use as a currency.

During the past 500 years, there were long periods of effectively zero inflation where economies boomed. In the industrial revolution in Britain, for example.

Also, I don't think there was such a thing as an economist 500 years ago.

Gold and silver coins kept the price for a pint steady as a rock for hundreds of years.
Did you check the gold charts? It fell alot not so long time ago if i remember good.
