Why did I sell at 435? Sigh.

Bitcoin you crazy.

Probably will be able to buy back for less if you wait a day or two.

The legitimate question is will he buy before or after $500? But I guess that one can always keep on dreaming. This is the big rise of bitcoin and blockchain technology. We're not living in the year 2012 anymore lol.

5%? So if we break $460 today, you'll pretty much break even? Not bad...

Considering the cost of transferring fiat to an exchange and the exchange fee itself, it's a cheap price to pay for convenience, security and anonymity.

Bitcoin will never reach $700 again. This is why I have liquidated my position in Bitcoins. There is very little upside going forward. Block size limit is too low. No forward moves of late have any traction whatsoever and demand continues to lag. Way too little upside for such a risky proposition so my advice is to move into dollars.  Only a significant change in the economy could alter this forecast.

Btc corrections after a multi week rally are typically violent and steep. This is nothing.  I called this yesterday.  It's still pretty bullish at this level.  You can start worrying of it goes below 650.

Good call TERA! So you agree that if we stay around $680 the uptrend will eventually continue? It seems as if the most violent dumping is behind us.

between january and feb 2016. i was holding a considerable amount of bitcoins. over 3 digits.. i panicked when the price crashed from 540 to 325.. i honestly dont remember the date (if really needed, ill check in my wallet, just ask).. in those panic moments (5-12days) i sold 1000 btc.. after a few slow months. btc rally in june or july ( i was in thailand at that time) i remember sitting by the pool at 6am, facepalmed myself and said.. i will hold the remaining bitcoins i have (still over 3 digits currently) until either i die, btc dies.. or btc reach $10,000 a piece... i intend to keep that promise. the ups and downs its part of the game. thats why we say its a roller coaster ride.. we have seen way too many times how 100 drops to 25 and the minute you turn your head away, its 200 now...

the situation may seem to be different this time. but its not. true it was dropping more or less $50 - $200 and this time we are at $400 drop.. but thats volume.

i bought my coins way below. i am still over 500% profitable. but its not the money that matters..

give it 3 months maximum.. and the one who sells this dip is going to bite their nails, sell their arse, to buy back higher a 100 days from here.

HODL

This guy knows ^

I have bought 180 bitcoins at $300 and holding ever since. You probably have a lot more but I think we have pretty much the same strategy. And no I'm not a hack target, I keep my investment offline.

Interesting. Very thin on the sell side, pretty strong on the buy side. This is more or less the same across most western exchanges that I just checked.

Is that what is called a bull trap? I have no idea, I'm not much of a trader.

It depends on what you expect it to do. If you view the longer-term trend as increasing, then a temporary (mostly artificial) fall is a bear trap. If, on the other hand, expect the long-term trend to be decreasing, then a temporary (mostly artificial) rise is a bull trap.

I think if there was real selling pressure, we'd see this reflected in the order books. There's not too many BTCs on the upside. A few thousand coins take us back to 1000$. On the other hand, it takes multiple that to go down to 700. So, given the positioning and strength of the buys and sells on the order book, I'd say the market expects BTC prices to rise.
Yes, my point exactly. Also the short sellers will have to close their positions to lock in the profits, so they have to buy back too. There's only so much coins till $1000. I'm optimistic.

All this bullshit of "Gee I only buy the dips," is pure hogwash. If you are only seeing it as a good buy because it once was $1200 and now it is $1000, then all last year and the year before and the year before that were great buying opportunities. So please save us all the rhetoric and keep the mindless chatter to yourselves.
I agree with most of what you said, but if you don't always have the funds available it is not a bad idea to buy the dips every now and then. This is actually a good strategy in my opinion. Buy every steep correction and profit.

So basically Scamfinex wants you to believe there's millionaires just beating down the doors to buy all the bitcoins in sight on an exchange you would have to be insane to trust with your money, while on the more legit Bitstamp exchange the buys are less than 1/10th the size.  I almost feel like Bitfinex no longer has any users at all and we're just watching an API feed of one guy selling imaginary coins back and forth to himself.

Short sellers are getting liquidated. That is what you were witnessing most likely.

They weren't sure if the Winklevoss twins would use their own coin or have to buy more on the open market.

Whatever the case, they said there's going to be a huge run on Bitcoin in the event the SEC passes.  Very bullish.

Of course it is hard to guess the exact bottom but there is obviously a good probability that we will have higher prices again within the next couple of weeks. To each their own strategy.

We have had far worse things happening, like exchanges being hacked and many coins stolen. This ETF-thing is not such a bad event at all.

Anywhere below 1150 was way oversold. If I understand things correctly everyone tried selling at the exact same time pushing the price tremendously down, but only briefly. Now that the sellers are done it is only natural for the price to come back up.

The fun fact is that most alt coin pump and dumpers try to make more bitcoins instead of fiat currencies. Bitcoin has a bright future.

How do you know the pumpers cash out in btc and not in fiat currencies?

I have my sources; people that participated et cetera. They talk up their alt coins and how they are superior to bitcoin, but in the end they are quick to buy back their bitcoins.

Triple digits time mark my words. 900 EUR seems a good buying price.

The thing is, the whale pumper since ~$1000 (2/15) had planned on selling off after the ETF event anyway.  He (they?) just need a selloff/crash reason now.

Problem is, they don't really have one except "dur hur BU fork threat dur hur, ETH/Dash much better dur hur". Social engineering is all they got left.

Indeed, for most of us bitcoiners there is no incentive to sell. Nothing changed. You might get extremely lucky and buy back a little more coins at a lower price but that is no guarantee at all. Especially from where we are now. Look what happened after the ETF announcement. Many people sold at the bottom.

BU does not want a contentious fork.  It is just a tool to allow larger blocks without requiring the blessing of self-appointed bitcoin priests.  Miners will only utilize the tool when the market is ready to have larger blocks.  They are not dumb enough to shoot themselves in the foot.  There is no magic threshold that will trigger a hard fork.

If you actually want to understand BU and not just parrot the unfounded attacks on it, check out the BU subfourm on the forum where the idea was hatched back in 2015: https://bitco.in/forum/forums/bitcoin-unlimited.15/

Start threads, ask questions, find out what BU actually is.  If you are right that is is bad, you'll be able to attack it much better once you understand it.

Finally a realistic reply concerning the scaling debate. Thank you!

I also have been saying there is no fork planned. FUD and misunderstandings have contributed to this excessive dump.
Well, hooray for cheap coins I guess...

Similar situation full of disbalances however did not prevent bubble back in 2013  Wink and majority of investors here have gambling streak. So the rise will only run its course until it exhausts itself on major resistance or Finex goes bankrupt. Whatever comes first. 1500 is reasonable price to close our position and wait for the reckoning.

Speaking of gambling streaks, how's your maximum leveraged short sell doing Okurka?

No, I'm the only honest person on the entire forum that doesn't make up lies claiming bitcoin is a more sound form of money than gold and silver.

Bitcoin is a more sound form of money. Can you use your mobile app to pay in gold for goods and services? Are you delusional?

Not the best timing, but I have BTC/USD short open from $4041. Target is low $3000's.

Where have you placed the stop loss?

I adjust it based on market movement. Since we've made $3880, SL is now at $4201.

If price goes above $4100 again, based on market movement I suggest you adjust it at low $5000's.

I covered at $3840. Re-shorting this pop here. I don't hold my trades very long.

You must be crazy to short this market. I have seen countless of people blow up their accounts.

Looks like you are talking a bunch of bullshit.  If your goal is to be right, then you just make up a bunch of shit, and then try to suggest that you are speaking some kind of truth.

Get a fucking grip..  We are in a bitcoin bull market.  You understand that?

Look kid, I have 10+ years of tradin experience, made good money over the years.

I know the market, and this is going down.

By the way it already went down and it will probably continue to go down despite your irrational exuberance, and the countless shills on this thread trying to talk it up. It doesn't work.

You are wrong. Quote this for future reference; bitcoin at a price of $3600 is a good buy.
