I think that this is likely. But the point remains. One should be trying to short the reversal, not short into sustained selling. Same principle as "buy the crash, sell the rally."
Point taken, but if you expect a big drop at some point, missing out on small bounces isnt that big a deal. Most of my bids are in the 200's and 300's. Maybe his are too.

I am NOT going to lock in losses, when the direction of the market is NOT clear to me and when my whole portfolio happens to be in the red.
I can already anticipate that you are going to want to do battle with this - b/c you seem to be assuming that the price direction was obvious.. which it was NOT.
How is the direction not clear to you? There is only one chart showing an uptrend now and that's the four year log chart. The odds of a whale hitting "market buy" at this time is infinitesimal unless he wants to see a short squeeze for shits and giggles and wants to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars for the privilege. Whale limit orders near $400 are the OPTIMISTIC scenario.
I'm NOT selling at this point. I will buy again at $410 and $400... and I will wait to buy if I am sure that it is going down.
We come to varying conclusions about what to do, and mine seems to be different than yours. I hope you do NOT get left behind if we take off in the upward direction, rather than the downward direction. I'm feeling o.k. either way.

Houbi has bounced 300 off its low. The bounce before that it went up 400.
Bitstamp an BFX are not bouncing as much - about 10% off their lows.
Since your waiting at 405, im curious - What would be your strategy if that wall gets eaten ?

I'd say yes, that would be implemented at some point. But you'd only have to pay the tax if you lived in the state(s) where the exchange (or it's offices, etc) is located. Out of staters would be exempt.

I consider anything below $1000 to be pretty good value.. but of course it is all relative. Who would buy a BTC at $1000, if they are on sale for $458-ish.. while supplies last?

One of the banks told Huobi it is going to close their accounts in 1 week's time. Huobi acknowledged and it still has a few more banks working with it.
The question is what will happen in the next few days? Will it stop at 1 bank or will there be more to come?

That is soonish, and I did not vote so. But surely when it snaps back, 500 is the first line to fall, not the last. My forecast stands: "if 382 holds, 500 is breached by the end of month".

I wouldn't call ETH a shitcoin. Been hearing that along with warnings not to buy since it first came out. I'm glad I ignored all the experts calling it crap since it came out and bought gobs at under $7 over the last 2 year. Now it's over $365 (down from near $400).
The ease it allows for smart contract integration is a strong feature. I guess I'm just not as smart as the ETH shitcoin callers. At least I can get some consolidation from watching my new lakefront home being built, funded totally from a portion of my ETH profits.

They are going to do a firmware update to the Trezor, and it will include some process to move the BCC to different addresses. No firm date when the firmware will be available. You may have to wait, and by that time, your BCC will probably be dust unless you have lots of BTC.

Feels like we are experiencing a repeat of late September/November 2014 the last week or so - a tiny pump (in the grand scheme of things) before the final drop a few months away (January 2015). This would put us at roughly late February/March 2019 for the final drop in this cycle. Hopefully I'm wrong and we've already seen the final drop, in which case we may see a bigger bull run heading into next year, but we need to get above $6k and hodl there with confidence for a bit of time first.
