Besides, I pinched off 0.2BTC in the first place just for random betting. If I lost it, I wouldn't bet anymore from it. I've currently won about 1.2BTC in 2 days without paying any extra. My next plan is to simply add the winnings to my account, and keep playing with only 0.2BTC, so I have a net gain in case I lose my betting fund.
What I'm about to say is by no means intended as any offence to you:
Be that as it may, you are still playing on a money draining machine, I hope you do realize that? Those games only serve one purpose, make the creator richer. Don't think your lucky streak makes you invulnerable to the system. It's a waste of time...

You sound way too emotional for day trading. My advice to you would be to buy and hold or to cash out with a profit and set a new buy order at $120-125 and let the market do its own thing until your order gets filled. Might be painful to watch though if the market keeps going up, so personally I prefer to buy and hold, and buy more in dips.

You seem like the person that will end up in tears with every investing opportunity. This forum isn't going to learn you anything, just get a book and learn some fundamentals. Do not trade without basic knowledge!!!

Rampion of course they are delusional and obviously all on my ignore list, but that doesn't mean they ain't trying. It's just a bad idea in general to take any advice from here and just use it. I just made a log chart myself since the beginning of trading and I can agree on the price target of $25-30 if you make a load of assumptions as already stated by others above.
I myself am not a believer in one trend to rule them all from the beginning of time till now, it is kind of simplistic and purely statistical.
Therefor I believe the price we are at now to be appropriate and we will go upward from here onward.

Likely the same API issue they've had in the past, because Bitstamp puts a limit on the number of API calls and then they ban you.
They should run their public API calls locally at a refresh interval and then cache them with their CDN. I don't know what's so hard, but that might just be me. Their current API setup is very unprofessional.

There are 6 phases in a rocket launch you know:
1. Main Engine ignites and liftoff occurs.
2. Solid rocket boosters burn off their fuel and separate from the rocket. <- You are here.
3. Booster burns off fuel and jettisons from the rocket. The second stage or engine is revealed.
4. Second stage ignites and pushes the rocket farther along its path.

I feel like $445-450 is the new $266 an the bottom is about to fall out any second now.
If price has spent enough time at the same for people to call the top, it is not the top. The top comes unexpectedly, you don't have enough time to write "I feel like" before it is obvious.
We have yet to hit $450 and this is very much looking like March/April. You can deny it all you want but with almost 12 million bitcoin in existence those are no longer in "steady" hands. They are however in the hands of fiat minded average investors, get rich hopefuls, day traders who see an opportunity to take quick profits, and I am not sold on the "China sees the future and value" message that is being touted. I think many people see an opportunity to make a lot of fiat. In order to make fiat one must sell bitcoin. The more bitcoin in existence the more that will need to be purchased by the "steady hands" to maintain a price. That takes a lot of fiat. Also my concern is US regulations around virtual currency come out on the 18th of this month. I feel like this is a penny or pharmaceutical stock right now. Huge media hype, All this talk about 400 billion market cap, we are going to the moon, US adopts bitcoin etc etc. drive the price up and then sell it off right before the real bad news hits the market. Just like a penny stock or a pharm stock that says they doin the cure for cancer and the FDA doesn't approve it.
Like April? WHAT? In April the price hit $266 and immediately started tanking, lag went crazy and caused more fear and lag selling. The price dropped to like 70 in 3 hours. We've been at $400-$440 for over 24 hours now. Nothing like April.

There is too much risk associated in trading right now that Bitcoin price is so high, one bad trade and you can lost thousands of dollars, that hurts a lot.
This is not the same as when Bitcoin was worth 10 dollars, so people trend to trade less and less, at least common people.
I personally don't give a shit about volatility, dips or corrections, and unless the uptrend is clearly broken i will not sell one single satoshi.
I think most people feels the same.

The US fucking government publicly gave the green light to Bitcoin and that went mainstream. It's buuuuuliiiiish, stop your feelings and positions making your judgements wrong. I was bearish at 350 and thought it will drop any moment but turned up 180% when I realized I am wrong.
I think you are forgetting that we've only been above 266 for 3 short weeks.

Remember all the good news we had in April too? Actually the FinCAN guidance was largely viewed as bullish when it was released too, accompanied by relatively bullish talks by government officials. But it was manipulated to fit the bear narrative. This government approach is nothing new.
The truth is, we rose too fast. Still way up week on week. Medium term, we can't rise at this pace, and need to correct. We have a fair way down to go yet.

Honestly though, a long term (as long as BTC doesn't get outlawed in future) market cap of $50B-$100B is feasible and that would price each BTC at $2381- $4761. That's not taking out the lost BTC or BTC in storage (not in the exchanges) so with that taken into account I think the price *should* go a lot higher than that long term.
Well obviously now it is. A year or so back, 22 BTC wasn't that much. A lot of us here on the forum go way back and had the opportunity for a lot of cheap coins. (I wasn't one of the lucky guys, I discovered BTC when it was close to 70$). Still, if you believe in BTC; acquiring more at a pace you are comfortable with is the way to go.
Some of the guys here have over 1K coins, that just makes me sick

Well, time to move all coins from gox to stamp. Gox is still charging 0,6% on my account.
But anyway, you see the problem? If you want to make small profits, the fees are ruining it anyway. You pay 32$ on sell and 32$ on buy. So on 20 BTC´s the price must fall at least 4$ only to pay the fees. And the risk is high that you sell and wait for a price drop but the price goes up and at the wors scenario it will never come down again.
You haven't traded on stocks with brokers then have you? These fee's are extremely cheap when compared with the traditional systems.
Off-course I'd rather have them even lower :-).

Move to BTCChina if it's just for trading then. 0% fee's. You can trade in and out at 50cents if it makes you feel comfortable.

Heineken is terrible. Belgian beer is typically superior to Dutch beer (though some nice Dutch beers exist).
There are quite a few nice Dutch beers, just Heineken is not one of them.
I don't agree with the sentiment that there are only a few select countries that produce good beer, though it does differ, based on what you are into. The key to finding a good beer is research and trying new stuff. I've been toying with the idea of setting up an online off license for craft ales where you can pay with Bitcoin, I think it'd work well.

Careful now guys, just because we missed a mark doesn't mean there won't still be a correction to the correction. Check back to every other major crash and see the bars flying up and down.
Fib resistance around $550 and a round number, so selling in the $540s and then we retest $500 at the very least.
I like fib retracements. Might be a good call but I have a feeling this market is still waiting for gox to drop the bomb either good or bad, so be on the lookout guys!

I do not understand this mindset that people get in when they see a rising price or a reversal, that all the sudden it has to reach an even higher level on the same day, and then an even higher level tomorrow, breaking every known resistance on the chart. What seems to be correct however is:
Price, Orderbook
In the end I got tired of websites showing me wrong data, I wrote my own (private).
If you are looking for a better site tho, I can suggest tradingview (as far as I checked their numbers are correct).

Standard MACD uses EMA to calculate signal. Trading View uses Simple MA to calculate by default, If uncheck tradingview's MACD option "Simple MA(Signal Line)", the chart will be same.
The formula you describe is correct however your results aren't. The argument you make about tradingview I knew about so I made sure I compared apples with apples (I'm no fool):

You can't hover over the Histogram to be sure, but it looks close to 1.2 (the same as TradingView has)
I see. I fogot when I write the formula make histogram twice to make the indicator more readable so the formula I used is histogram = 2*(MACD – signal) for histogram, and when compared with trading view before, I checked all value except histogram. I have not decided to make the MACD follow standard or keep it more readable. but the trends is correct.
Correct Values > Readability!

Apart from a half-hearted CCMF here and there, the off-topic discussions seem to have increased by about 10000%.
I dare even say that the only thing that has a larger gain percentage-wise over time thant bitcoin itself, is the amount of off-topic discussion in this thread.

I don't care about direction where we are going, I'm more concerned with the behavior on this board. Two years ago we were more mature, with more serious analysis and polite conversation, no matter where we are heading. Lately, everyone feels free to insult everyone, we need to calm down and develop some respect for each other, it would be much better for us and bitcoin. Just imagine how new members of this forum react when they visit this forum for the first time... They feel like they are visiting zoo and see bunch of monkeys, throwing insults, "moons" and "looses" all around and creating so much mess, after that they just adopt this model of behavior. I can't blame moderators because no one can moderate this, problem is just too big for anyone to moderate.
Registration with post requirements in the newbie area used to help vs all those troll accounts. But bitcointalk brought this mess on itself...
