In the end, 1 BTC = 1 BTC. These dips are buying opportunity's to increase your stash. Just hold on to your coins and wait till they reach your target price. Might take a week, might take a month, might take a year. Uptrent wil continue over the years.  Grin

The problem is the total inability for Bitcoin to reach any sort of consensus.
What matters is that it is resolved one way or another.  The lack of governance is the real problem, only compounded by the refusal of so many to even acknowledge that there is a problem at all.

As others have said here before me, what makes this crash so difficult to stomach isn't the falling price.  We've all seen bitcoin win all sorts of challenges before.  What makes this one so disturbing is that the threat is on the inside, bitcoin's lack of governance, lack of ability to say "this is a problem and this is how we're going to fix it" is actually tearing it apart from the inside.  I'd rather see bitcoin drop to $200 because of China or the US government than to $900 because of infighting.  At least then I'd have some confidence that it would come through, but Bitcoin can only win through if it's in good fighting form and right now it isn't.
Exactly. By the way, I also find it disturbing that some people claim everything is peachy.  Cognitive dissonance much?

Bitcoin's back up to $943 so everything is peachy. There is speculation Huobi might start allowing withdrawals again, so China might be unbanning Bitcoin again, which makes everything even more peachy.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-exchange-funds-reporting-not-for-all-users-huobi

To cap it all a number of top devs say there will be no fork and everything is just peachy. Get those cheap coins while you can.

http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-on-developers-arent-worried-about-fork/

Peachy.....  Cool like princess peachy?  Shocked

I have been telling people about bitcoin since 2013. A few friends listened and hey have made a lot of money. Most people back then had little or no interest with the exception of a small percentage.

Yesterday one of my staff told me he had bought some XRP. He said he relt the 20 euro charge for buying his bitcoin was too high. Not sure where he was looking. He only bought around 200 euros of XRP so a 10% fee does seem a lot. I told him he needs to buy more. Lol

A bus driver that comes in my work also told me yesterday he bought £250 of Bitcoin a few weeks back. He said he is still about £15 down so he must have bought at the top. I told him not to stress and all will be good in he end.

Slowly slowly it is happening. People are interested when they know I use Bitcoin. They want to hear what you have to say.

Gentlemen

Slowly more will join and see its potential. I go to the university of applied sience in the Netherlands and gave my fellow students a 30 minute presentation about bitcoin (at that time BTC price just passed the gold price). Many had heard about it but only a few knew exactly what it was. They where all verry interested. Many even started buying bitcoin  Grin

The price of BTC went up allot since then and they keep asking/thanking me weekly  Grin

1. People have bought BTC like mad because they want free BCC
2. Smart investors already selling their BTC
3. When the fork hits, and BTC's market cap will be split between two coins (80-20?) BTC will drop like a stone.

All this even though we know BCC doesn't stand a chance. Good for trading tho

in an hour and 50 mins we will know. I dont expect it to drop like a stone. Many people might just exchange BCH for BTC instead of fiat. People who already sold their BTC will re-enter on a dip.

I expect a new ATH before the end of this week.

So it means BCH is actually around 170€? It's so flat it's unreadable.

Currently, yes.

So, it seems the most it was on kraken when it started crediting is 225€, right?

Then I haven't lost much when I got asleep. I sold for around 175€.

I predict a price below 100€ within 24 hours.

BCH is not available for deposits on any exchange that I'm aware of.

Kraken and Bittrex both gave BCH for BTC holders at the moment of the fork, but it's been impossible to deposit BCH from wallets yet.

Thank you. That explains why they are still able to pump the BCH price.

....... soooooo

Bitfinex has now enabled margin trading for BCH

But not opened up deposit wallets yet

Cannot help but still think this is pump and dump and dump and dump.

These closed loop exchanges are messing with the price discovery- eliminating arbitrage opportunity
and simultaneously benefiting those with coins on the exchanges - those that wished to do so have been able to sell their BCH or part of. In fact the wave up and correction on Finex gave many a chance to almost double their BCH
in a day- and this ain't over yet.

It's gotta get messy when they open deposit wallets on the exchanges.

Crazily enough - I have heard of people that stayed in fiat during the fork- and
then after fork bought BTC and BCH- mental.

Yes, many people that started purchasing BCH made some easy profits. I sold my BCH on kraken for 175 euro a piece... never expected it to get up to 600 euro's the next day Roll Eyes

may i know how? official statement from kraken is BCH deposits are under developments, so how you were able to transfer your BCH to kraken when they do not have wallet for it yet??

I had my BTC stored on kraken before the fork. I received my BCH from Kraken about 4 hours after the fork.

The community doesn't realize yet it has been besieged.
I think most people involved in BTC (the community) do realize this is an attack. I, for one, do.
A siege, though, is not a generic attack. It involves being starved by the enemy outside, which can't happen as long as we keep our provisions (BTC) - that is, if we don't trade BTC for BCH.

I am convinced that the value of BCH will vanish soon, unless it is artificially (and expensively) pumped from the BCH side. Which they are welcome to do, as far as I'm concerned. I'm going to trade my BCH back into BTC if I see steady rates in the order of 0.3-0.5 BCH/BTC.

I dont expect it to come back to 0.3-0.5 rate ever. Upcoming days BCH will drop in value drasticly. At the moment of speaking BCH is already down to 275 Euro on Kraken.

Get a decent price for em while you still can....

Trading BCH is very dangerous! Sooner or later all BCH traders will become bagholders. Best course of action is to sell all BCH you have, buy BTC, and have a good long holiday for the next 2 months when B2X fork will give you new portion of free money.

Lots of people still have coins to sell. The flood gates haven't even opened yet.

Today I learned that there are - from what Kraken tell me - new regulations in that only allow Tier 4 individual accounts to withdraw $100k USD fiat per year.

To withdraw more than $100k in fiat, you need to apply for a corporate account.

Sheeit.

I'm happy to be proved wrong here but this is how I feel about the forks...

BCH - sold pretty much all straight away and did extremely well out of it and boosted my btc holdings.

Bgold - looks like it could be a waste of time and worth nothing more than a couple of potatoes each + no replay protection

2x - a real spanner in the works, no replay protection and creates yet more FUD and confusion on exchanges.

Personally I want the forks to fork off. I am slightly worried about doing anything with these coins due to the lack of replay protection which potentially could jeopardise my btc.

This Bgold smells fishy to me. From the very beginning when they released their copy and paste website put together by a dyslexic 7 year old. I'm not even going to take the language barrier as an excuse. If you are going to release something like this then start by making a decent web page.

Don't touch any of it - at least for the time being. Not worth risking your real coins.

That's acting like bitcoin has it in the bag already and for eternity.

Anyone who plunges headlong into anything with that assumption has spent too long here.

Fiat is of course junk, but i would not expect to service a loan on theoretical gains, only fully realised ones in which case i don't need it anyway.

Let's say you buy the house right now, using 20% down payment in liquidated bitcoin, and financing the other 80%. The rest you kept in bitcoin. Even if bitcoin ONLY did a 10X from here over the next 30 years(!), you would still crush the interest payments on the loan. And you can pay off your loan early at any time.

But if you don't believe Bitcoin will still be around and be a "thing" in 30 years, well then you must not believe that it will disrupt and revolutionize finance at all.

This is exactly what i did this year. Cashed out some BTC to pay 20%, took an morgage for the remaining 80%. Everything else stays in BTCitcoin  Grin

many people will lose their jobs because of automation and that will be a big problem.

Well imagine if you where unskilled/uneducated but wearing a pair of googleglasses that would tell you exactly step by step how to operate a verry complex machine? Grin Everything is possible with technology......

Without automation our food, clothes ect. would all become more and more expensive. We woudn't even be able to feed everyon on this world without it actually..... Its a MUST if we want to survive with this many people on this planet.

From the r/K angle, most of the worlds population are rabbits. It would be surprising if most people didn't think bitcoin is a scam or bubble or any of the other synonyms.

We are the few, the intelligent, the brave. We are those who See. We are visionaries, in the most literal sense. And in the decades to come, we will have the means to reshape the world. Never forget that.

Well said!  Grin In mathematics and decentralisation we trust! Cool GO BTCitcoin!

There is no exchange with my fiat that I could win in daytrade.

I bought btc back but I see it will dip for sure - but at my exchanges there is so low volume and bot manipulation that even If i sell and buy back at night when it will be low - still I wont be +

If you holdl from january 2013, you make about a 1000x in 5 years.

This is a good reason/evidence.

So you want to say that Bitcoin will never drop? Please in whole history of stock - find me company or anything that never ever dropped? Please

Sorry but I am not rich - no one gave me anything. Right now I will try on 0.175btc and HODL not looking on the price. If it goes up for uptrend I buy more. If it goes down - oh well that wasn't so much.

If i put my savings into a bankaccount im 100% sure it will be worth less next year.

Investing my savings into BTCitcoin brought me way more then i could have ever hoped for. I dont trust banks with their government issued money with my savings. I believe in decentralised limited supply. Thats why i invest in bitcoin.

I pay with fiat, save in BTCitcoin. HODL 4 life.
