Protip: with drk having it's fork and generally being overvalued anyway expect an injection of btc into MRO.
This is no real altcoin "protip".

- Fork is already fixed.
- Monero is down in the last 24 h. DarkCOIN Fork is/was 6 or 10 hour ago. Monero didnt profit from it. What leads you to think it will do now. After Dark problems are nearly gone? Dark price already recovered.
- Monero is a 2 year old technology and still has it's own problems (blockchain bloat).

(no hate against u and Monero is a good coin, still wanted to notice this)

LTC has very strong fundamentals. I don't know what you mean -- it has an extremely dedicated development team. They just don't have much to do much because LTC is already the perfect coin. Oh yeah, and intrinsic value. LTC has intrinsic value, dude.
You are wrong. LTC once had two developers, but Charles and Warren quit development.
They lost intrest and do other work now.

600M invested by Bitcoin VCs isn't big money to you. It's probably more money than you have anyway. Postmodern skepticism is boring.
600 M invested by general VCs in Bitcoin? Or do you mean 600M invested by Bitcoin VCs - as in meaning VCs/funds operating on and investing with Bitcoin? Prob. fist doh.

But 600 M investment by general VCs is not really that much/significant, for an hype technology like Bitcoin is today.

besides maybe some small manuall post dumpers, the real reason for this big loss of posts must be nuked (multiple) accounts of big time posting regs

+1 We will have to wait until the US Marshals get rid of all the DPR coins, leaving only Satoshi's vault as the only big bag left to dump. Only then, the new Bitcoin generation will come forward.
till they size the next coins ...

The seizing of DPR coins will hopefully be a reminder to people to have the bulk of their coins stored offline on an encrypted drive with the seed memorized. If DPR had done that, his coins would still be nice and safe whether or not they caught him.
99,5% of the people would give the encryption password or the memorized seed, if they face => 10 years prision and can trade coins vs. some years less

---->
- all Darknet/hacking/massive  "money laundering"/unregulated crypto bonds/CP related busts in the US or people who get extradited to US will give up their coins, because they will always face => 10 years
- coins by busted people in the free world like EU or South America facing 1 till 5 years prison are safe this way

I pulled a card out of my conspiracy hat and it says that current exchanges are being intentionally fucked up so people will flock to the new, shiny, regulated, insured exchanges once they open.
I really doubt this. I think, these exchanges just get pwned by intelligent, professional (, cyber-criminal) east european hacking crews. Who act persistently, in long-term operations.
With the help of private exploits, social engineering, well prepared spear phishing attacks & (advanced) physical attacks on exchange-related hardware/network equipment in data centers, where these exchanges host.

There are so many very intelligent computer science graduates and so much poverty in east europe and around Russia. ===> much professional cyber crime

Who cares about miners? They have no vote and nothing to say.
Relevant are only the 3 till 5 admins/owners of the biggest mining pools. They decide.

55. Post 10974122 (copy this link) (by dewdeded) (scraped on 2020-04-04_Sat_14.08h):

But to decide & leave, they a) would have to be aware of an (maybe disguised) attack or manipulation and b) there must be big enough and trust-worthy alternatives available to go to.

I think most/same of you guys are clearly over-estimating & exaggerating the power and influence of the miners (in discussions with trolls and serious BTC-critical posters).
From my POV it makes real discussions unobjective.

Jorge, if a minig cartel ever threatened to change the rules of Bitcoin, the value would plummet as everyone jumped ship to a new coin. Why would they ever do it knowing that it would devalue their assets?
This is a nonsense answer to me. Why would they have to threat anything?

They CAN do many different detectable and undetectable manipulations, with or without violating Bitcoins rules. There is no need to change the rules.

They could manipulate: TX relaying, block relaying, not mining TX they dont like (to low fees, unwanted origin), banning of nodes, logging & spying on users, implement black-lists, ..., etc.

All this talk about how "miners would never attack the network because that would destroy confidence in the blockchain and they would stop making money" is kinda bogus IMHO.

Basically double spends already happened but the bitcoin community just looks the other way and pretends that never happened.

Are you sure "miners have no incentive to perform double spend attacks" if all that happens after a double spend (that doesn't seem that easy to investigate into too apparently) is some posts on reddit trying to figure out what the hell happened and bitcoiners just forgetting about it?
Jeah, very good, thank you. That is what is was trying to say.

Regarding yesterday, the consensus algorithm topic interest me very much. I am of the opinion that PoW massive wastage of energy and leads to dangerous centralization of mining. Nevertheless, I see many posters, I respect, who prefer PoW. So I made a thread about this, in the Tech Discussion section.
See https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1011906, topic: "Why do most known experts and widly-respected poster prefer PoW over PoS & PoI?".
