Looking at this graph, we may still have some room to grow before a correction. StochRSI is still below the red line.

Last time the low was.. what, $795 over at stamp? I think we could go lower this time.

Just an observation. I do not claim to be in their heads, to be sure, all I am saying is perhaps we should tread carefully and make sure to take some profit on the way up in case we get royally screwed at the end of this. I wouldn't sell to day-trade, but I have sold some to make sure my children have a real nice Christmas. If it goes up, so be it. I'm not going to get greedy.

Yep, I've sold off the money I've made trading altcoins. I'm still holding my initial BTC investment though.
But as it stands right now, thanks to the additional profits from alts.. I'm actually freerolling now. Bitcoin would have to hit a negative value for me to start losing money. That is - I've already sold off for more than my initial investment.

Get ready for the 700s.
Don't think you can spread enough fear, Sir, I respect your tries though!  You have like 50 posts just today trying to encourage the drop, wonder why that would be.. I don't and neither do you, but others might.

I'm sorry just looking at the charts.

I would tend to agree. We may see $600 or lower before the weekend is over.
But so what? We were at $260 30 days ago.... thirty days.

Sobering thoughts mate. You know it feels like months I've been looking at charts and pouring over this forum and reddit for, since $260. 30 Days. I'll be surprised if I don't get a few grey hairs because of this recent bubble.

I may be wrong.. but even if I'm not.. well, this video did me a lot of good and I think this is as good a time as any to post it again:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHUPPYzzZrI

Volatility like this is perfectly normal. Could Bitcoin die one day, never bouncing back? Sure. Do I see any reason for it to happen now? No. Am I a short term bear? Yes. Long term? No, nothing has given me reason to yet.

I've put in buy orders all the way down to $200.. bigger the lower we go.
Still holding on to my initial BTC investment, sold off the ones I made trading. Definitely feels like the right decision. If we go up again already, I'm cashing that money out for good. If we go down deep, I'm buying more BTC with them. Either way.. they're staying on stamp for the weekend. Possibly longer.

Still not sure if my investition 3 weeks ago will be a fail or will gain. Not sure if the price can go back to 4 digits on a weekend?

Long story short: I first bought in at $210 before the crash in April. I didn't break even until October. But eventually I did.. and more.

There's also physical age vs. mental age. Not pointing fingers at anyone, just that sometimes a 25 year old can be more mature than a 45 year old. Just look at any reality tv show with middle aged individuals to know exactly what I mean.

Maybe beer?

bitstamp is an amazing exchange. Only thing it doesn't have is an auto log out feature. This would help with security....

Did they implement stop loss order?

Nope they also still don't have a market order it's pathetic Cheesy.
Yeah...I don't what spooderman is on about really...its a boutique exchange, it looks great but is very low on features.  I hate the fact you can't see the market prices on the order page.

The only good thing really is you can get your fiat money out...which I guess is quite a significant plus point really.

I just discovered Kraken.. I'm surprised more people aren't using them. They have a bunch of advanced features, including stop loss.
That, and they verified me in 24 hours.

Hows the market depth there?

How is their banking network?
Have you withdrawn fiat from them?

Well, as I said; I'm surpised more people aren't using them. You can't have a great market depth without a decent amount of users. So of course it won't be nearly as good as a market leader like Bitstamp on that.. not until they get more users.

I haven't tried withdrawing yet, I'm going to wait until after new years.

I wonder if fear of the 51% attack will actually make people just on alts

That fear doesn't hold good for any crypto currency does it , what is going to save the alts from same thing not happening again.

Well, there's always the alts that don't rely on mining.

I feel that as long as we're this low on volume, we're not going anywhere.. rather we'll be hovering around $780-$910 (stamp) until google trends picks up steam again: http://www.google.com/trends/explore#q=bitcoin

Once enough steam picks up, we'll go somewhere.. not sure which direction though.

Curious, would such a wide gap typically signal a correction?

Maybe.. it's just an observation. But the past few weeks the gap has been between 12-15%.
When I posted it was up to over 18%

That was encouraging. http://www.vettage.com if I may toot my own horn.

Good. We need people like you.. keep it up! I hope you're successful.

I can't wait for the day that Bitcoin is big enough to not be able to be manipulated by 1 person anymore.

In the midst of all of this.... how is bitcoin any more volatile than regular old stocks?
https://www.google.com/finance?cid=672501

I've posted this more than once, but it's always relevant: Why Bitcoin's Growth is Normal
Bitcoin is volatile because of the low market cap. It behaves like a pre-IPO stock, and those who are used to investing in pre-IPO stocks are also used Bitcoin-like volatility. But that's also where the big profits are.. once a stock hits IPO, it's already too late.. no more 100-1000x gains. That's why Bitcoin is so special.. it allows non accredited investors to get the pre-IPO experience. Very democratic in that way.

damn brother, how come?

the FUD....it got to me. And like many here, I was never rich, buying a few bitcoins a long time ago before these two huge bubbles has squashed my ability to remain rational.

edit: let this be a lesson to you all - HODL

At least don't sell while it's going down a lot. I first bought in near the top of the April rally.. but when it crashed I never sold.
I was in the red from then all the way to the China rally, so about half a year. Either go in with full faith in the long term, or stay out.

I did sell for a nice profit at $960 though. I'm not against shorting, but you need to know what you're doing.

Nicely done. I sold 90% @ $180 when it was dropping. Never bought back in because I didn't believe it would rise so quickly. Missed out on $1200. Then I made a desperation move and sold my last 10% @ $860 on Mtgox when it was dropping. Made another gutsy move and bought int at $700 and sold at $1000. But if I had just held all the way until $1200. I still think about that.

Thanks. I will admit though that I could've made more money.. I may not have sold Bitcoin during a crash.. but I did sell Megacoin.. I could have about 50 btc more than I do now if I hadn't done that... same goes for selling many of my NXT too early, could've made 5x more there.
