in 32 Hours the price according to my sources will be $377   (+/- 5) Cool

How is this working out for ya?

Pretty well...

so like i said 1am UK time we will hit 377 +/-5 Smiley

2 more spikes, and by the time China is eating corn flakes, we'll be close to 377.

but don't hold me to exactly 1am.  might be a few hours late.

you keep saying the same thing over and all over again, suppose you hit $377, then what ? why is $377 important to you ? what would this change?

it is $377, it is not like we are going to hit $600 or $800, I am pretty sure that even if you hit that (377) mark (which I really still doubt) this wouldn't change shit, because you always go $10 north and $20-30 south, and trade side ways till the next crash....

I still think that Bictoin Price is a bubble that will burst to pre-bubble price ($100-150), after that we will have a slow and boring growth.

I don't know if 377 is exactly right

I don't know if my timing is right.

But I am sure of the direction.  And i am sure 277 was the bottom and I am sure you'll never get to buy at sub 330 again.

You have to believe me.

Confirmed!

You're welcome.

WallObserverCoin (WOC) is a new cryptocurrency that uses the Proof of Post (PoP) protocol. It was launched on 2013-04-16.

How does PoP works?
People can mine WOC by posting at the official website. Every post is a new block worth 1 WOC.
1 WOC can not be devided.

How to spend WOC?
Transactions can be broadcasted by using the folowing protocol:
1) find an unspent output you own
2) quote the unspent output
3) state the receiver of the WOC
4) mine the block by posting this information at the website.
5) important rule: you can't mine a block for someone else, you can only send already mined coins.

Specifications
* Max supply: no maximum
* Block reward: always 1 WOC

why not short then?

Why would i risk my money in an unstable market controlled by a few whales while i can just simply buy silver and see it getting worth more every day. Silver prices wil easily double again from this point on.
You just enjoy watching another year of traders dumping and keeping the price down.

Really? So unlike the traders that have been dumping btcs the traders that have been dumping silver for more than 2 years are not bad?

Damn, somebody should invent Timecoins.
Every second is like  0.01 $ or something and if you did something special like save someone a lot of time by helping him, you should get some timecoins by a fixed rate.
For example, if you are like NotLameChop and tell the stupid noobs here not to buy bitcoins and you try to educate them, you should get 1.2 TC for every minute spent on this forum. Because he is putting some real effort into this, he has to be rewarded. So whoever is going to invent them, has to give NotLameChop at least (ask Blitz for the correct number of posts) X posts a day / 13,37 minutes per post * effort discriminante - wasted time in seconds + affected buttcoiners = Timecoins.

Don't worry, there's always a next auction with tens and hundreds of thousands of stolen BTC. The ultimate finale will be MtGox.

I really wish the community didn't just let Mark dissapear into the shadows, that guy got away with a good amount of everything in the good days of BTC (for years)

We all just let him go away.

Yes I'm blaming mark karpeles for this sell off. because he robbed me.

Sorry for answering to this old post, but i had to throw this in:

After all the whole post gox downtrend that bitcoin is going through, could have been mostly caused by dumping the 'stolen coins', no?
I guess it would have been enough ammo to push the price down slowly to these levels...
Probably i am just daydreaming here and somebody might even mentioned it before and i missed it...
I doubt i can get an answer that satisfies me, unless mark krapeles comes here and tells us the story what really happened.

fun fact : i got my credit card hacked two times on the net last year and each time my bank refund me within 10 days to protect me.

More than bitcoin can ever do

only an idiot lets their credit card get hacked ... and your credit card fees include costs for all the other idiots who let their cards get hacked and the idiot companies that 'secure' all the massive credit card databases ... basically its a bog hack system that costs a lot of of money to keep patching up

secure bitcoin properly and it never gets hacked and you never pay more than you have to, or paying for others incompetence.

PS: you're credit card was basically worthless last time i looked anyway  Wink

Edit: take Bitstamp as an example when it comes to security, if they cant secure their exchange how do you expect a normal user to do so ?

Bitcoin is redefining the security measures in IT, when a single file is so important and critical, it is really dangerous for the masses at this point, we need to put more effort to make it secure, user friendly, tweaked for larger adoption and especially regulated so the scums and crooks don't find a heaven in it.

ok thanks for that, before i had just wondered, now i definitely know that you are a simple lightweight roll.

not worth bothering with, have fun in your safe little pond camel rider

The more I talk to people like you the more I love my camel. Wink

BTW: that picture in my profile is a piece of historical art...not that you really know what art or who Etienne dinet is

Art, Beanie Babies, Bitcoins, it's all the same, just a bunch of stuff that cultists like to collect, except art and beanie babies have no use case. Collecting art is even more stupid than collecting bitcoins.

lol,  you are probably just not rich enough to even consider collecting art. do you really think people who buy picassos are stupid?

This is not the end, but 2014 was a great year to SHORT the shit out of bitcoin and some bullnutters. I took my profits above 800$ and thankfully waited more than 1 year to rebuy below 175$, only to sell again part of it above 210$.

the ongoing drop in btc price appears identical to the pm's drop in price.
the pm's are smashed down regularly and will reach a new low then capped in that new lower range.
we are seeing the same thing in btc where each 'crash down' or 'smash down' leaves btc trading in a new lower range.
i do believe that 3600 coins daily inflation and selling pressure but the similarity to pm's 'smash downs' is remarkable.

What does pm mean in this context?

No way that shit I never heard off had 385 million of user funds.

I never heard of that exchange and now suddenly somebody is trying to make people think it had 3000 investors with $12k? I call bullshit.

(...) estimate is based on the company's own earlier claims that it served 3,000 clients who had invested HK$1m ($12,890) each.

It was a minor exchange too, but the big scam was not in the exchange, it was a cloud mining ponzi.

BTW, 1 million HKD is 128'900 USD not 12'890 USD.  That "万" thing does seem to confuse people there...

in my opinion it actually is a little bit confusing if you are not used to it...

一万 = 10000
一百万 =1 *100 *10000 ( 1 million)
四亿 = 400 000 000 ( 400 million)
十四亿 = 1,4 billion

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=952177

The guy may well be a scammer, of course.  One interesting detail is that he claims to have "usernames and
hashed passwords of 476,122 users, 51,490 deposit addresses, 7,756 plaintext passwords, 13,280 product listings, 52,481 private messages, 145,493 transaction records".  If true, those numbers may help estimate the number of bitcoin users.

How would he have more than 3 times as many users as transactions?  Is it plausible that 2 out of every 3 people who registered at the site did not order anything from it?

sure. there must be a lot of ppl who just wanted to take a look and others who wanted to order something but didn't because of [insert your favourite reason].
edit: others might have lost their account and just registered a new one without ordering...

Winklevoss twins speaking about Bitcoin at SXSW tomorrow in Texas, surprised no one has mentioned this. I didn't even know about it until my wife told me that she's going to watch.

I assumed that most people here also read the /r/bitcoinmarkets daily trading thread. Anyways we had some discussion on this yesterday:

http://www.reddit.com/r/BitcoinMarkets/comments/2z3b2d/daily_discussion_sunday_march_15_2015/cpfgylz

There are a lot of skeptics that this alone will be the spark to lead to the next rally (I'm talking about their exchange). It's an overestimated aspect if you want my opinion. Besides there were a lot of other bullish news that the market didn't even care for. The ETF on the other hand...  Roll Eyes

the exchange itself shouldn't move the market at first but I expect that the potential announcement of it being "sponsored" by X major US bank will give us a lift.

This. If somehow they will be able to establish an "i/o" through the fiat world, this will be the catalyst towards the biggest rally so far. Yet though, there's also another bank in the EU that plays that role (Fidor Bank) but no significant CCMF yet. Maybe because the EU BTC infrastructure is a lot smaller than the USA's one.

I'm confident though, that the twins are on the right track for a perfect rally. We'll see.

afaik fidor is not for europeans... only for germans, no?

You missed the point.  Of course a surgeon's scalpel is unwelcome to a boil, and penicillin is unwanted by the syphilis spirochete.
The doctor must weigh the feelings of boil/spirochete against the general wellbeing of his patient.  It's a choice.

I think you missed the point NotLambChop.

In any case, believing technology which could benefit the privileged few will not be developed to preserve the well being of the many is silly. No individual will choose not to have life extension technology, instead they will actively pursue it.

Don't be a silly boil.  Eternal life is as attractive as eternal reruns of "Who's the Boss?"

yea an eternity at bitcointalk sounds pretty boring. but you know.. there are people who actually have interesting lifes and would not mind extending them even if it is not eternal.

Relevant are only the 3 till 5 admins/owners of the biggest mining pools. They decide.

no they don't

the moment they "decide" something stupid everyone leaves the pool

this is why i find it silly to say big mining pools are a threat to bitcoins decentralization

pools have to act how there users what them to act or they won't use that pool, the users have all the power.

I have a dream where a bitcoin is worth $400,000 each three halvings from now so the blockreward is over a million bucks and miners still won't care about fees.

If BTC value doubles more frequently than the blockreward halves, fees will never be needed to sustain miners. Of course BTC can't grow exponentially in purchasing power forever, but it can in nominal terms if the U.S. Dollar ever hyperinflates.

Keep on believing!

4000 CNY and especially 4444 will be huge psychological resistances in the middle kingdom. 4 in chinese is "sì" (四) and it sounds a lot like "sî" (死) which means death... The chinese people don't like it and try to avoid using it. In elevators for example you might find floor 3a and 3b and floor 5 but no floor 4. Not really comparable to 13 in the west but you can get the idea. ( Most of the airplanes i have been flying with did not have a seat with that number). So there could be some trouble if we do not get past that cursed number quick... On the other hand we might just overshoot it to 5000 cny which would be really great if the western exchanges just follow. My next target is +760$.

Now you can enjoy the rest of the nlc show i guess. kthxbye

satoshi gave him alot of btc in 2009 for promotion reasons, he then sold them all when the price hit 10$ the first time. 10k bucks profit and he was glad that he got out before the 'bubble' burst. after seeing the price hit 250$ he thought "damn, maybe i was wrong after all. i will just buy back in with all my money".
There was another dump to two digits and he sold at the bottom with a horrible loss of more than 50%. Ever since then he was butthurt and started trolling. His daughter seeing her inheritance had more than halfed also joined in the never ending trollvendetta...
i am sorry for exposing the truth or maybe i am just kidding. who knows?

Very naive, asset needs to be liquid to have value. To be liquid we need a place to exchange it for other assets, and that exchange place needs to be able to handle needed volume, and to do that someone needs to hold a lot of cash and assets on said exchange

imho we need decentralized exchanges.

the topic here is about staring at moving walls. 99% is offtopic, because the original thread author stopped moderating.

uhm... i do not think that this is the real reason. Might be trolls or just boredom. One could even suggest it is because of the sig campaigns, but iirc adam (the 'original thread author') posted 'some' offtopic stuff himself and did not delete posts aslong as it was not offensive in some kind of way.

Ontopic: orderbooks look very thin both on the ask and on the bid side across all exchanges. scary... but my next target remains: 1337$

in 2013 the market cap was ~12B at its peak, and litecoin was less than $100M.

today bitcoin is almost $19B, and the next 5 top coins have a combined $2B.

cryptocurrency as an entire sector is up 8 *BILLION* dollars, or ~66% since the 2013 peak.

Maybe a large short position was taken out around $950 in anticipation of sales that then got unexpectedly bought up by a raging bull market? Now a very large Chinese miner and fabricator is actually under water to the extent that they are very desperate for a much lower price for its business survival? Such a desperate actor will do anything, including threatening to fork bitcoin or otherwise nuclear options, since it is going bankrupt anyway.

Mind blown. Do you think this theory holds water? What signs would point to miners taking out big shorts?

Bitmain needed cash for their new data center they invested heavily last year. They sold customer bitcoins. Nothing unusual there. What is confusing is that PBoC came to rescue Chinese short sellers. If we break $1350 next stop will be >$10,000 bitcoin.

I'll post here one last time just to give you guys warning. This is going to happen, I pretty much saw it already in my dream.

First of all, there will definitely be a fork. If I'm wrong and there is no fork, Bitcoin will lose the vast majority of its marketshare to better crypto, at that point BTC will be left in the dust, permanently, and nothing on this forum will even matter anymore.

But most likely, there will be a fork. During the ensuing chaos, and mass sell-off wars between the two sides, Bitcoin is going to drop into the double digits... this will be a great opportunity to pick up artificially incredibly cheap coins. Probably the last opportunity, ever. And the price will almost certainly shoot back upwards immediately afterwards once people realize they're a bunch of idiots, and either core or BU emerge victorious.

After the fork is done, and BU emerges the victor by killing off the minority chain, all the marketshare that has flowed into altcoins over the last 2 years will flood back into BTC like a tidal wave as people regain confidence and trust in bitcoin. BTC will shoot up like a rocket ship into the multiple thousands. Of course, this would have happened already had Core not stifled growth with the 1mb artificial blocksize limit.

So if you buy in the double digits then it goes into the multiple thousands, well, I think it goes without saying it's a great opportunity...

I'm 99% sure this is going to be how it plays out, I saw it in my dream, they do tend to come true - most of the time.

Make sure you get yourselves into position. This will be my last post here for a while, I am going to sit back and wait for events to develop. Adios.

You sound like a lunatic but may be force be with you. I will be ready should your crazy dream come true.

He IS a lunatic Wink

I'd call this a bad sign. This same kid's story got trotted out at the height of the last bubble in 2013. Along with the story of a EU guy that found bitcoin on an old hard drive that he paid $27, then at the time in 2013 they were suddenly worth $886k. I think the news said he bought a condo or something.
http://www.maxkeiser.com/2013/10/man-buys-27-of-bitcoin-forgets-about-them-finds-theyre-now-worth-886k/

These kinds of stories I call the "sucker" stories, that get trotted out by the MSM so that the fence sitters finally cave and invest into Bitcoin right into a bubble and eventual downturn.

Stay wary my friends.

And no, I'm not trolling. I'm a permabull still 90% in who has been through these Bitcoin cycles before, and have seen how this market works.  Remember, the MSM is no friend to Bitcoin.

Re-buy at $200 then we can start all over again?

You never know. ETH went through a flash crash. There's always the chance that real Satoshi (if it is indeed one person and not a foundation) dies and the estate will have to liquidate to pay the estate taxes. (If Satoshi is a citizen of one of the countries that imposes such ridiculous taxes. US citizen would be bad. Japanese citizen would be even worse.) People forget that we have Satoshi's massive holdings hanging over our heads. Maybe Satoshi would never destroy his creation, but do you really think a government is going to care if they crash the market or not when demanding their estate taxes?

I've also been approached recently but it's always about mining ETH.  I tried so often to introduce my friends to bitcoin that I'm no longer allowed to mention it.  If a newcomer arrives and asks about Bitcoin, everyone else at the table will groan or leave...sometimes both.  You can take a horse to water...

My friends and family just roll their eyes and just figure it's an extension of my gambling problem. They are probably right. However, since I made my entry in late 2014/early 2015, this has been more fruitful than my attempts at card counting. (Didn't help that I tried to mask my card counting by accepting all of the free drinks.) They may be coming around though. My partner scolded me for using my btc to purchase a small gold bar the other day.

In my case it was the following:

I talked about bitcoin and nobody believed and I started using my bitcoins in real life, I bought a lot of things thanks to the investments I made with bitcoin, it did not take long for people to start asking me, i told them again about bitcoin And they started to know and use bitcoin

People are only interested in something that benefits them

I've been taking about bitcoins for ages and it was literally the only thing I was really interested in, almost nobody listened only my bro and my dad probably because they felt sorry that I had nothing else to talk about. Right now every family reunion the only thing people are interested is in my bitcoin stories but I am too tired too explain it to them again after the first multiple times they didn't want to know. I think it really has something to do with benefits and they didn't see any that time, but right now the only thing they see is the quick buck and that bores the shit out of me. So anytime somebody asks me about bitcoins I tell them about bitcointalk and that they should figure it out themselves and after that they might ask me again. Just too tired of listening to all the "shoulda listened and bought as you told us" over and over again... Myfather and brother are pretty happy thou  Kiss
